HVAC Instructor
HEATING, VENTILATION AND AIR CONDITIONING (HVAC) INSTRUCTOR
The heating, ventilation and air conditioning instructor (HVAC) performs in a high school classroom and shop setting presenting instruction in HVAC functions and repairs. He/she promotes a positive atmosphere within the classroom and shop setting conducive to optimal training, learning and motivation.
Qualifications:
Must be HVAC industry certified (EPA) and have a minimum of three (3) yeas in the HVAC field to be eligible for a Virginia teaching license.
Performance Responsibilities:
• Instruct students on care of HVAC tools/equipment, their purpose and proper use.
• Instruct students on shop safety.
• Instruct students to perform major and minor HVAC repairs and installations.
• Establish and maintain a working relationship with the HVAC industry to ensure training is relevant.
• Secure instructional aids and materials as available.
• Other duties as may be assigned by the administrator.
Terms of Employment: Ten months a year with salary to be established by the Franklin County School Board.
Evaluation: Performance on this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with school board policy and administrative regulations which address evaluation of certified personnel.
