Athletic Director

TITLE:                                                    DIRECTOR – ATHLETIC – 6-12

PRIMARY FUNCTION:                           To provide direction and cooperation for the high school sports’ program.

QUALIFICATIONS:                 1.             Hold the postgraduate professional license with Administration & Supervision PreK-12 endorsement.

2.             Experience in teaching physical education and coaching of an athletic team totaling a period of at least five (5) years.

3.             Possess the professional and personal characteristics necessary for working effectively with athletics, coaches, school personnel and the community.

REPORTS TO:                                         High School Campus Principal and Middle School Campus Principal

PERFORMANCE

RESPONSIBILITIES                 1.             To organize and administer all phases of interscholastic athletics activities for                                                                                                       the high school and middle school programs.

                                                2.             To provide leadership in all areas of athletics.

                                                3.             To supervise and evaluate all coaches.

                                                4.             T coordinate all budgeting and purchases for the athletic department.

                                                5.             To administer athletic insurance programs.

                                                6.             To maintain an up-to-date inventory of all athletic equipment.

                                                7.             To coordinate all athletic transportation needs.

                                                8.             To schedule interscholastic contests for all sports.

                                                9.             To verify the physical and academic eligibility of each school athlete.

10.          To arrange appropriate personnel for home athletic events (including officials, ticket takers/sellers, police, supervisors and others, as deemed necessary).

11.          To ensure that all funds are properly receipted and deposited.

12.          To supervise the storage and care of all athletic equipment.     

13.          To be responsible for the interpretation of all V.H.S.L. regulations.

14.          To attend and direct district, regional and state activities, as deemed appropriate.

15.          To promote athletics as an integral part pf the total high school experience.

16.          To coordinate and provide leadership to all athletic booster clubs.

17.          To supervise and evaluate all athletic facilities.

18.          To perform other duties as directed by the principal.

TERMS OF

EMPLOYMENT:                                     Twelve month year. Salary to be determined by the board.

EVALUATION:                                        Performance on this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with school board policy and administrative regulations on evaluation of certificated personnel.
