Psst! We're moving!
Saying she wanted to steal the household registration book was obviously a joke.
After a long while, Tang Yin said, “I want to go back to Jiashui Private School.”
Lu Chi replied, “Alright.”
The weather here hadn’t been good since it rained. Thus, Tang Yin and Lu Chi decided to change their flight dates and return to H City early.
In July, it was still scorching hot in the city.
As soon as they returned, Tang Yin regretted her decision. It wasn’t as comfortable here as where they had been—there, it felt like spring with blooming flowers, and she could lazily lounge around, ordering Lu Chi to do things for her.
The holiday schedules for universities and high schools were quite different. During this time, Jiashui Private School still had one more week of classes left.
Coincidentally, it rained in the city the next day, turning overcast by the afternoon. Though it was still a bit muggy, it was much more pleasant.
During class hours, the area outside Jiashui Private School was very quiet, with hardly anyone around.
Tang Yin and Lu Chi took a taxi there, rolling down the windows along the way.
Passing by a certain place, Tang Yin suddenly turned her head and said, “Remember that time? I told you that you dropped something, and your reaction?”
At the time, Lu Chi had been both shy and adorable, stuttering as he spoke.
Lu Chi glanced up at her. His memory had always been excellent, and recalling his own flustered reaction from before, he turned his face away without replying.
Tang Yin leaned against the window, smiling at him.
Her face was so delicate that you could see tiny peach fuzz; her eyes were half-closed, revealing ink-black pupils that seemed to shimmer, clear and lucid.
She reached out to pinch Lu Chi’s cheek, teasing, “Is it because I’m so beautiful that you’re staring?”
Lu Chi didn’t respond.
Suddenly, the driver announced, “We’ve arrived.”
Lu Chi paid the fare, and the two got out, standing in front of the familiar gate, feeling somewhat dazed. Just like that, four years had passed.
Two security guards were keeping watch at the guardhouse.
Tang Yin remembered them, and naturally, they remembered her—the troublemaker. As she approached, they asked, “Are you here to see the principal?”
Tang Yin nodded.
Of course not; she’d seen enough of him at home. Why would she come to school to see him?
The guards paused for a moment before letting the two in.
The school was strict about entry and exit, requiring signed leave slips from teachers. Even parents faced stringent controls for entering.
Once inside, Tang Yin asked, “Should we go find our homeroom teacher first?”
Lu Chi quietly replied, “Alright.”
They naturally had to visit their homeroom teacher; otherwise, the trip would have been pointless. The same old teaching building stood, and the same classrooms remained.
This semester, Zhou Cheng wasn’t teaching the zero-class anymore but instead the second-year experimental class, which would advance to the third year next semester. Teaching the zero-class required significant effort.
He thought the most effortless batch of students had been when Tang Yin and Lu Chi were there—they never made him worry about their studies.
Unexpectedly, just as he thought this, the protagonists appeared.
“Teacher Zhou,” Tang Yin and Lu Chi knocked on the office door.
The office door was open, revealing the people inside. Zhou Cheng sat furthest inside, engrossed in a book.
Zhou Cheng found the voice familiar, looked up, and couldn’t help but stand up. “Tang Yin, Lu Chi? What are you two doing here?”
Tang Yin smiled and said, “It’s vacation, so we came to take a look.”
It had been four years since they last returned to the school. Many new dormitories and teaching buildings had been constructed, making the campus much prettier than before.
Zhou Cheng laughed and said, “That’s quite rare. I was just thinking about you two. You didn’t need to bring anything.”
With some teachers absent, they sat down and chatted with Zhou Cheng.
Although Zhou Cheng had been new when he transferred in, the zero-class had achieved outstanding results, giving him a strong standing.
Nowadays, no one in this office had seniority as deep as his.
After talking for a while, Zhou Cheng glanced at the clock, thought for a moment, and said, “The class I’m teaching now has a fiery temper. They think there are plenty of paths even without college. Most of their focus isn’t on studying. Tang Yin, would you be interested in giving a speech to them?”
Tang Yin pointed at herself, “Teacher, aren’t you afraid I’ll cause trouble?”
Zhou Cheng chuckled, “How much trouble can you cause? I think the previous principal overcorrected things. Aren’t you two doing well now? A little relaxation won’t hurt.”
Tang Yin glanced at Lu Chi and responded, “Alright.”
Zhou Cheng led them to the classroom where he currently taught. Inside, an English lesson was underway, and many students were dozing off.
A few students who spotted the homeroom teacher through the window quickly woke their deskmates.
Seeing the two people behind him, the students’ eyes widened. Such attractive individuals weren’t common in the school—who were they?
Zhou Cheng entered the classroom, exchanged a few words with the English teacher, then said, “Today, two former students are visiting during their vacation. Both scored high marks to enter S University. I’ll let them share some words with you.”
The door was slightly ajar. He called out, “Tang Yin, come in.”
S University was many people’s dream school, but whether one could get in was a serious matter. Every year, the admission cutoff was usually above 700 points—a fact all students knew, regardless of being top students or underachievers.
Thus, as soon as Zhou Cheng finished speaking, the classroom erupted into commotion.
Before Tang Yin began speaking, someone suddenly raised their hand and asked, “Big Sister, is the person outside your boyfriend?”
Tang Yin’s gaze shifted outside, where Lu Chi was watching her.
She smiled faintly, “Yes, I pursued him.”
Another student raised their hand and said, “Big Sister, I saw a video on the school forum and posts saying that at the confession assembly, you confessed in front of the entire school. Was that you?”
Tang Yin was a bit surprised, “On the forum?”
She took out her phone and searched for the school’s forum. Sure enough, she found a pinned post with a video. She didn’t know who had posted it—it certainly wasn’t the school, otherwise, the video would have been taken down.
One glance revealed it was secretly recorded footage from back then.
Scrolling down, she found not only that but also recordings of a previous speech where she made public declarations.
Looking at the comments below, most were from their graduating class or younger students, filling many pages.
She hadn’t expected someone to preserve those videos. For her, they were memories and nostalgia.
Putting down her phone, Tang Yin answered, “It was me.”
The classroom immediately buzzed with excitement. They had heard rumors about her and admired the protagonist. Never did they expect to meet her in person today.
“Big Sister, you’re so bold, daring to say anything. After watching it, I really admire you—you’re fearless!”
“Big Sister, I wish I were in your graduating class. To witness it firsthand would be incredible. The video alone was thrilling; imagine how electrifying it must have been live!”
“My cousin told me about it. Ever since I enrolled in Jiashui Private School, she kept repeating it to me, almost acting it out. She adores you, Big Sister!”
“…”
Someone loudly asked, “Big Sister, how did you dare say such things in front of the whole school? Weren’t you afraid the teachers would call you out? Didn’t your parents care?”
Tang Yin raised an eyebrow, “Because I had the confidence.”
For a moment, the entire classroom was stunned by her answer, taking a while to react. Everyone felt a heavy blow.
She had everything—grades, looks, you name it.
Tang Yin raised her voice, “There are probably students in this class who are dating too, right?”
As soon as the words left her mouth, the classroom quieted significantly.
Every class had students secretly dating, and this one was no exception. They just hid it better, unlike what was shown in the video.
Tang Yin continued, “I’m not here to police you. Although I had good grades, I always lost a few points in physics. Coincidentally, Lu Chi—my boyfriend—always scored full marks in physics. When I first pursued him, I borrowed his physics test paper… What I remember most clearly was during the second semester of our third year. Every night, he would explain one type of problem to me, extending it further… Can any of you do that?”
The classroom became quieter.
Tang Yin didn’t dwell on it. “As I said back then, I was determined to attend the same university as him. Instead of sneaking around in high school, why not openly pursue it in college? If you don’t study hard, your new school will have plenty of people chasing after the ones you like.”
She smiled gently, “Of course, by then, you might meet someone better. Who knows?”
With that, she exited the classroom.
Zhou Cheng didn’t care what she said, just smiled and praised her.
Walking ahead, he didn’t notice the subtle gestures between Lu Chi and Tang Yin, but the students in the classroom saw them clearly and were envious.
They had always assumed she was a bookworm, but she lived more freely than they did.
After spending some more time in the office, Tang Yin and Lu Chi bid farewell to Zhou Cheng.
Exiting the teaching building, Tang Yin pulled Lu Chi into a nearby alley and bit his lips, mumbling, “Everyone knows about us.”
Lu Chi let out a sound from his throat.
She nibbled lightly, and Lu Chi initially let her continue. Eventually, unable to hold back, he slightly opened his mouth and reciprocated.
Few people came to this part of the school, especially during class hours, let alone anyone else.
His hands couldn’t resist sliding up from beneath her shirt.
Just as his hand touched her softness, footsteps approached from not far behind, drawing closer in their direction.
Lu Chi withdrew his hand and lowered his head to adjust her clothes.
Tang Yin panted softly, her lips red and glistening like cherries soaked in water. Her eyes carried a seductive allure, captivating and unignorable.
The two walked out nonchalantly from the secluded corner, feeling a bit guilty, as they were still on school grounds.
No sooner had they stepped out than they encountered the discipline master.
After four years, the discipline master hadn’t changed at all. He must have been patrolling.
The discipline master immediately spotted the two and was momentarily stunned. “Tang Yin… Lu Chi? What are you doing back at school?”
Tang Yin cheerfully replied, “We’re back to visit during the holiday.”
The discipline master was suspicious.
He remembered Tang Yin’s words often being unreliable, saying one thing but doing another. Back then, he had considered her a student, but now, he doubted she cared about anything.
Tang Yin feigned innocence, “I really came to see my homeroom teacher.”
She had just kissed Lu Chi along the way…
The discipline master didn’t dare let Tang Yin linger, finding a way to usher them out while suggesting they visit again next time.
The school gate remained quiet, with no cars on the road.
Tang Yin kicked a pebble, filled with emotion.
Lu Chi suddenly grasped her wrist and whispered, “Tomorrow… come to my house.”
Tang Yin widened her eyes in surprise, then spoke after a moment, “Do you know? This is like inviting a wolf into your home.”
Lu Chi: “….”
After a long pause, he finally explained, “My mom wants to see you.”
Tang Yin didn’t respond immediately.
Her impression of Lu Chi’s mother was still from high school, deeply etched in her memory—it had been an unforgettable experience, utterly bizarre.
She used to wonder if Lu Chi’s mother would be unhappy about her getting close to him or if she’d be the stereotypical evil mother-in-law.
Seeing her silent, Lu Chi reassured her, “It’s just dinner.”
Tang Yin fidgeted for a moment, then suddenly said, “Even dinner makes me nervous—I’ll be meeting your mom… After dinner, let’s sneak the household registration book from your house.”
