Psst! We're moving!
Side Story 19
It seemed she had fallen asleep. Bibi’s eyes snapped open at the unpleasant sensation clinging to her body.
“What?”
The hounds that had attacked Lau Yuan yesterday and thrown tantrums during the day had now descended into the pit and were stripping Bibi’s clothes. Their hands were urgent, like tearing off food packaging.
So, I’m today’s prey. Bibi squirmed. Fortunately, the bleeding had stopped, but the pain lingered. Still, it wasn’t so bad that she couldn’t move. It was incredibly fortunate that the silver bullet hadn’t lodged but had passed through.
“Grrr!”
When Bibi tried to shake off their hands, the hounds growled. Their eyes gleamed fiercely, like wild dogs protecting their meal. She felt an unspoken pressure to lie still and be eaten.
The hands she had shaken off stubbornly clung to her clothing. As Bibi struggled, her already tattered top ripped open with a loud tear. Her bare skin was exposed, and the slick sensation of fish guts felt even more vivid. Bibi’s patience had reached its limit.
She reached out, grabbed the throat of the closest hound, and pulled him to the ground. As soon as he lost his balance and fell, she struck him under the chin with the back of her hand. She wanted to bite and tear at them recklessly, but in this situation, she couldn’t afford to shed blood.
Waking up the sleeping hounds was one thing, but she didn’t want to attract the attention of the managers.
The remaining three charged simultaneously. In a normal situation, she would have leaped up, but due to the restriction of not attracting attention, Bibi lowered her body and grabbed the lower body of the one in front.
“Ugh!”
Due to the momentum of his charge, she was pinned down instead. The dirt floor painfully hit her back. She felt a shock like being hit hard on the shoulder with a hammer, but there was no time to care about the pain now.
Bibi burrowed between the legs of the opponent trying to pounce on her, wrapped her entire body around him, and rotated. The one whose knee joint snapped fell forward without resistance. Bibi quickly broke free, struck him in the back to knock him out, and glared at the others.
“......”
They only knew how to charge, not how to fight properly. When Bibi, who had disappeared from their sight, subdued their comrade in an instant, they didn’t even make a sound and slunk back as they had yesterday. She wanted to chase them and finish them off, but she had a lot to do.
Bibi picked up her torn clothes and wrapped them around her shoulder. When she poked her head out of the pit, the guard vampires were all guarding the path to the second floor. Unlike yesterday, they were tightly disciplined, which meant the factory owner seemed to still be staying. That was good.
Bibi emerged from the pit, climbed the pillar like a lizard, and used the ceiling pipes to move towards the office. She handed the rice ball and iron supplement she had secretly smuggled out during the day to Lau Yuan, who was on a pipe, and slung the rifle onto her back.
Until now, using a gun had been very uncomfortable, but when injured, nothing was as convenient.
For some reason, there was no one guarding the office. However, the doorknob had been repaired, and a chain had been added, making it difficult to break in. Bibi had only two goals to achieve, so there was no reason to play it safe.
Bang!
Without hesitation, Bibi broke the doorknob and lock and rushed into the office.
“Uh, where is it?”
The drawers and desks had been reorganized overnight. She looked around, disoriented by the different arrangement from yesterday, when she heard footsteps approaching, sensing the commotion outside. Her heart pounded wildly like a wild animal trapped in a snare. Cold sweat poured down her body. She even momentarily forgot the pain in her shoulder.
Where is it, where is it?
She quickly turned her eyes and saw the charger buried under a pile of documents. Bibi frantically connected the pin to her phone and searched for an outlet. But there was no outlet in this office where she could plug in the charger.
“What do I do, what do I do!”
Bibi clutched her phone, stamping her feet. How could she be so foolish as not to check for an outlet? She had assumed there would naturally be one. It was a truly ridiculous mistake. Before the guards burst in, Bibi dragged a filing cabinet to block the door.
The sound of pounding on the iron door and shouts could be heard. She couldn’t understand them precisely, but they seemed to be a mix of curses and threats. Bibi’s eyes darted around, and she suddenly spotted a familiar object on top of the metal filing cabinet. An electric fly swatter! There was an electric fly swatter!
Bibi, who had been obsessed with mosquito eradication, not only knew which company’s products were powerful but had also learned through videos that they could be used for other purposes. Bibi pressed the button on the electric fly swatter to activate the current, then placed the charger plug against the mesh.
Crack!
With a sound, sparks flew from the electric fly swatter. She had been unsure, but it was charging! Thank goodness. However... the battery needed enough power to turn on... and time was running out.
Boom! Boom! BOOM!
The swarm of guards were firing their guns and pushing, as if they would break down the iron door any moment. At that rate, Bibi would be pushed back by sheer force.
Please, even if it gets breached, just let the phone turn on! As she anxiously bit her lip, the phone screen finally lit up with a small melody. Doyoon’s picture, set as the background, was so welcome it brought tears to her eyes. Bibi quickly sent a message with her sweaty hands.
Doyoon im here dont wry this is a hound factory
There were many typos, but there was no time to correct them. Doyoon, in any case, was someone who understood perfectly even if she spoke nonsense. As soon as “message sent” appeared, Bibi placed her phone down in charging mode and covered it with a cushion to hide it. The phone had to stay on as long as possible. To get her location via GPS. With luck, it might not be discovered while hidden like that.
Now, all that remained was to safely exit this office... No matter how she looked around, there was no other exit. All four sides were concrete walls, without a single crack. Bibi didn’t have the strength to break through walls. In the end, the only way out was that iron door that the managers were swarming and trying to break down...
No choice. Let’s do it.
Bibi used a single-seater sofa as cover and aimed the rifle at the door.
Thump, thump, THUMP!
With successive impacts, the iron door was completely torn off, and the filing cabinet collapsed. The guards poured in like a flood, spotted Bibi, and rushed to capture her. Bibi pulled the trigger without hesitation.
Bang, bang!
They were all accurate headshots. Each time a gunshot rang out, ashes exploded and flew in front of her eyes.
The managers seemed caught off guard, not expecting Bibi to have a gun. For the first few minutes, they were helpless against the incoming silver bullets, unable to properly resist.
But that was only for a moment. Soon, they took an attack stance and mercilessly sprayed bullets towards the sofa where Bibi was hiding. The faux leather sofa was riddled with holes. Silver bullets grazed Bibi’s ankle and side, dangerously close. The hair on the back of her neck involuntarily bristled.
What to do? There was no time to counterattack. If there was just a small opening...
As Bibi bit her lip until it bled, the distinct high-frequency sound of a vampire was heard from the corridor. Simultaneously, there was a rather large explosion. It was the moment the guards turned their heads in surprise.
Bibi roughly shoved the sofa aside and dashed towards the door. Taking advantage of their hesitation, she lightly leaped into the air, climbed onto the ceiling drainage pipe like a monkey, and quickly made her escape. After exiting the office corridor, she looked down and saw the leader hound standing there, trembling, holding a lighter.
On the floor not far from him, a charred spray can was burning. The hounds who had been sleeping well murmured and scurried around to avoid the fire. Thanks to this, Bibi was able to briefly escape the sight of the guard vampires.
“Ugh-oh, woo.”
The leader hound desperately moved his severed tongue, trying to tell Bibi something. She couldn’t understand anything he said. Aside from his severely slurred pronunciation, his accent was also unfamiliar. Bibi couldn’t understand any Thai.
The hound leader pointed upstairs and stamped his foot as if urging her to go quickly.
“Second floor?”
“Woo, woo!”
When she held up two fingers, the other party nodded frantically. It seemed the small explosion just now was his doing. The leader hound was trying to help Bibi. Bibi saw the managers running over with fire extinguishers and handed him the rifle.
The leader hound, who had taken the gun in surprise, showed a fearful expression. He seemed scared to fight. She fully understood that feeling.
“But you can do it! Let’s get out of here together later!”
Bibi encouraged him with a determined expression and turned to continue her path. Taking advantage of the chaos, she quickly climbed the pillar again and leaped over the ceiling drainage pipes. Her plan would succeed if she just went up to the second floor and kidnapped the factory owner.
A burning pain flared where the bullet had grazed and in her shoulder, but she ignored the pain and moved relentlessly. The stairs were only 3 meters away. If she just moved forward like this, surely...
“Huh?”
Suddenly, a shimmering grid pattern appeared in her vision. She quickly tried to duck to avoid it, but she happened to be suspended in the air at that moment, and she couldn’t avoid the dome-shaped net spreading towards her. Bibi fell roughly onto the hard floor like a bird with broken wings.
The guard vampires cheered and rushed over. They were extremely excited and chattered loudly among themselves. They were like natives who had successfully hunted. Bibi bit at the net with her fangs, struggling to escape somehow.
One of the managers, seeing this, approached with an angry face and raised his arm. Was she going to get hit squarely with a gun this time? Bibi resolutely prepared herself.
Thud!
The manager brought the rifle down hard on Bibi’s head. Her already vulnerable body took a direct hit to a vital point, and for a moment, she couldn’t withstand it, crumbling completely. Her vision turned pitch black.
