Psst! We're moving!
Accepting a marriage proposal didn’t mean they were getting married right away.
On the third day, Xie Qingyu and Su Hui took leave from work to visit Le Ya at her home. They then whisked her off for a meal outside, claiming it was to let her “enjoy her last days of single life.”
Le Ya happened to have the day off, so she went along with their plans.
Xie Qingyu remarked, “I never expected Chen Yang to pull off such a grand gesture. It makes us feel like whatever we do next will seem lackluster in comparison.”
If Liang Qian didn’t put effort into his own proposal, she’d definitely delay giving him an answer.
Though proposals didn’t define everything, seeing what Le Ya received made her feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Most girls dreamed of experiencing something like that at least once.
Su Hui said, “What’s there to be afraid of? Just tell Liang Qian that if he dares not go all out, you’ll beat him up. That’ll definitely get him moving.”
Xie Qingyu rolled her eyes. “I’m not some crazy person.”
Le Ya added from the side, “I thought you two would’ve gone straight to register for marriage by now.”
She and Liang Qian had been living together for a while, and as far as anyone could tell, they hadn’t had any major conflicts. Strictly speaking, Liang Qian pretty much went along with whatever Xie Qingyu wanted.
Xie Qingyu shook her head. “No way. That’s too simple.”
It didn’t have to be extravagant, but it did need to show effort. If Liang Qian thought he could just breeze through this phase and take her away without putting in the work, he was sorely mistaken. She wasn’t that kind of person.
Su Hui popped a slice of grilled meat into her mouth. “Everyone on Weibo is talking about your engagement. You know, if I post something about it, I might just become an internet sensation.”
Le Ya laughed. “You could always ask Su Cheng to make you famous.”
Su Hui waved her hand dismissively. “No thanks, that sounds exhausting. I’d rather be one of those influencers who gets tens of thousands of comments just for posting random updates every day. That’s the easiest route.”
Being a celebrity involved acting, and if she lacked talent, she might face criticism—or worse, backlash from haters and netizens. In the end, Su Cheng might even get dragged into it.
Xie Qingyu pretended to pick up her phone. “Maybe I should tell Su Cheng about this.”
“No!” Su Hui quickly shook her head. “I was just joking. By the way, Le Ya, your Weibo followers have skyrocketed. Are you planning to respond to them?”
Le Ya thought for a moment. “I don’t know what to say.”
She had already scrolled through the comments—most were blessings, some asked about their past, and others came from her original fanbase. As for private messages containing insults, she had deleted them outright.
The first time she saw those hurtful words, she was furious. Many accused her of being unworthy of Chen Yang or claimed she had plastic surgery—all lies.
After reading a few, Le Ya stopped bothering with them altogether.
Instead of dwelling on those sour remarks, she preferred scrolling through the sweet comments left by adorable fans—they were far sweeter.
“Actually,” Su Hui said with a sly wink, “there’s something else we haven’t discussed yet. We should probably test things first. What if Chen Yang isn’t… you know, good enough? Wouldn’t that ruin your happiness?”
Le Ya: “….”
This topic was too embarrassing to bring up. She dared not confess to Xie Qingyu and Su Hui that she and Chen Yang had already taken that step.
Her cheeks flushed slightly.
Thinking it was due to shyness, Su Hui chuckled. “I’m serious! Nowadays, many couples try living together before marriage.”
Xie Qingyu, however, didn’t share the same mindset. “Stop talking about this. You know Le Ya’s personality.”
Su Hui blinked innocently. “But Chen Yang might not think the same way.”
Changing the subject, Xie Qingyu suggested, “Chen Yang’s new game has been out for a while now, so he must be free. Why don’t we invite him to join us on a trip?”
They hadn’t gathered together in ages. The last time they all ate together was when Le Ya joined them; since then, everyone had been busy, meeting only in small groups.
Le Ya considered the idea. Softly, she said, “Let me ask him.”
“What’s there to ask?” Su Hui burst out laughing. “Just mention going on vacation—if Chen Yang doesn’t jump at the chance, I’d suspect something fishy.”
Which guy wouldn’t want to travel with his fiancée?
Chen Yang had been openly devoted to Le Ya since high school. Now that they were about to get married, surely he wouldn’t hold back anymore.
Le Ya countered, “What if he’s busy? Don’t speak so definitively.”
Su Hui raised an eyebrow. “Still doubting? Fine, let’s make a bet. Who do you think you’ll sleep with on the first night? If Chen Yang doesn’t come, I’ll sleep alone, and you can bunk with Qingyu. But if he does come…” She grinned mischievously. “Then you’ll sleep with me.”
