Psst! We're moving!
University life was much richer than high school. During military training, Su Hui lamented daily over the state of her skin, but upon its conclusion, she was quite satisfied with the results of her diligent sun protection efforts.
The other three girls in her dorm had all tanned noticeably.
Since the off-campus apartment was still under consideration, Su Hui was still living in the dormitory for now—but she would be moving out next month.
As a freshman, she needed to join clubs to earn extra credits. Su Hui casually picked an anime club and also signed up for the student union’s publicity department. She was smoothly accepted into both.
At the welcome party, the stunningly attractive Su Hui made her stage debut.
Though freshmen like her weren’t usually qualified to perform, her prior experience and good looks left no room for objection within the club.
The welcome party was scheduled for a month after the start of the semester, giving them plenty of time to prepare. Su Hui wasn’t worried at all.
They were performing a Japanese dance that required specific costumes, which closely resembled outfits worn by Japanese idol groups.
When they received the outfits, Zhou Kexin blushed as she looked at Su Hui’s exposed midriff and long legs. “This costume… it’s so revealing.”
Zhang Ranran said, “It’s normal. You haven’t seen anything more exaggerated. I think Su Hui looks great in it—having a good figure really makes all the difference.”
Su Hui checked herself in the mirror on the balcony and felt thoroughly satisfied.
Back in the dorm, she reminded them again, “You two absolutely have to come watch me perform the day after tomorrow, or I’ll be upset.”
Zhang Ranran laughed, “Of course we will! I’ll record your entire performance on my phone—I won’t miss it. I’m sure many boys will fall head over heels for you that night.”
Su Hui changed out of her pajamas and said, “If there’s someone decent, I might give dating a try. I’ve never been in a relationship before.”
She genuinely wanted to experience romance.
In high school, she’d watched Xie Qingyu and Liang Qian bicker playfully, and Chen Yang and Le Ya exchange sweet glances, while she remained single. It was heartbreaking just thinking about it.
Zhang Ranran, who was watching a TV drama, turned her head curiously. “That doesn’t make sense. You’re pretty and have a great personality—how is it possible no one has confessed to you?”
Su Hui shrugged casually. “There have been some confessions, but I didn’t like any of them.”
None met her standards. Not only did those boys pale in comparison to Chen Yang, but even the insufferable Su Cheng surpassed them. How could she possibly agree to date anyone like that?
Zhang Ranran blinked, then suggested, “Then wait until after the party. There are plenty of ‘campus gods’ here, and the confession wall gets flooded with posts every day.”
The school’s confession wall often featured photos of handsome boys, with people asking who they were and whether anyone had their contact information.
She enjoyed browsing these posts and had seen Su Cheng appear on the wall more than once. Every time, his pictures made her heart flutter.
Too bad Su Cheng wasn’t her type.
Besides, Zhang Ranran couldn’t stand guys with younger sisters—they always treated their sisters better than their girlfriends, making her jealous.
Su Hui declared confidently, “I’m definitely going to get a boyfriend this semester.”
Or so she believed.
On the night of the welcome party, all freshmen from the Foreign Language Department were required to attend.
Because their department had so many girls, students from other departments tried to snag tickets from those who weren’t interested in attending.
Lin Jinxu managed to secure four tickets and returned to the dorm feeling pleased. “Let’s go watch the girls perform together! Apparently, your sister is performing too, Third Brother.”
There had been chatter about it on the school forum recently.
He noticed Su Cheng fiddling with something on his computer and casually placed a ticket on his desk. “This one’s yours.”
Su Cheng stopped typing and said simply, “I already have one.”
Lin Jinxu suddenly remembered, “Ah, right—you have a sister. Then I’ll give this ticket to a guy in the opposite dorm who wants it.”
Su Cheng didn’t say anything.
The ticket he had was given to him by Su Hui the previous day. She had insisted she didn’t need it herself, proudly boasting about her upcoming performance like a peacock showing off its feathers.
Too bad female peacocks don’t fan their tails.
A faint smile tugged at the corners of Su Cheng’s lips.
The event started at 7:30 p.m. The dormmates headed to the auditorium together, where many seats were already filled.
Seats weren’t assigned, so Su Cheng and Lin Jinxu chose optimal viewing spots, similar to how they’d pick seats for a movie.
When the lights dimmed, the curtains opened to reveal several girls on stage. Su Hui stood on the right side, wearing a short skirt and cropped top, her hair tied into high twin tails, looking youthful and delicate, with long, slender legs.
Energetic music followed, and the entire auditorium erupted in cheers, led by the screams and whistles of the male audience.
Though the Foreign Language Department had very few male students—this year’s freshman class numbered only slightly over a hundred—most of the attendees came from other departments.
Su Hui had spent considerable time learning the dance, but thanks to her prior experience in high school, she executed every move effortlessly.
When the performance ended, Su Hui spotted Su Cheng in the audience. She had just finished exercising and was still catching her breath.
Their eyes met, and she provocatively flashed him a grin.
As Su Hui’s figure disappeared from the stage, Su Cheng’s dark eyes finally showed a flicker of emotion. His ears grew slightly warm, and he instinctively reached up to pinch them lightly.
Beside him, Lin Jinxu was beside himself with excitement. He nudged Su Cheng’s arm. “Damn, Su Cheng, your sister is so beautiful—and her figure is incredible. I’m smitten!”
Su Cheng responded indifferently, “Oh.”
Lin Jinxu frowned in dissatisfaction. “You’re being way too cold, aren’t you?”
Su Cheng glanced at him without saying a word.
Lin Jinxu straightened himself and muttered, “Fine, pretend I didn’t say anything. I’m not smitten either—I’m a monk practicing asceticism.”
The girl sitting in front of them burst out laughing.
Lin Jinxu struck up a conversation with her and successfully exchanged WeChat IDs as they left the auditorium. They chatted enthusiastically.
As the crowd filed out of the auditorium, people discussed the performances they’d seen that night, including the anime club’s dance. Some boys were even inquiring about Su Hui.
Outside the auditorium, the evening breeze carried a slight chill.
Su Cheng lowered his head and sent a message on WeChat: “You looked great.”
Backstage, Su Hui read the message on her phone, snorted lightly, and replied, “Of course I did. This old lady is the best dancer around.”
She gleefully gave herself a mental pat on the back.
Beside her, Jiao Nuan urged, “Let’s go already. Who are you texting? The president has booked a spot for us—we’re just waiting for you.”
“It’s just my brother,” Su Hui quickly tossed her phone aside, adjusted her outfit, and said, “I want to change clothes first. Wait a sec.”
“What’s there to change? This outfit is totally fine for casual wear.” Jiao Nuan pulled her along. “Come on, this outfit is perfectly fine.”
Su Hui reluctantly followed. “Alright, alright.”
In truth, the outfit wasn’t overly revealing. The dance itself wasn’t exaggerated, so the costume, though slightly sexy, wasn’t inappropriate.
After the gathering, people began drinking, and some got drunk.
Su Hui was trying alcohol for the first time and found it novel. Unsure of her tolerance, she avoided challenging others to drink-offs and instead sipped quietly in a corner.
By the time the club members noticed, Su Hui was already completely drunk. The male students’ eyes lit up as they eagerly offered their assistance, only to be blocked by Jiao Nuan.
At this point, everyone found it amusing. Since the gathering was almost over, people began to disperse and return to their respective dorms.
Su Hui was so drunk she couldn’t tell north from south. Leaning on Jiao Nuan for support, she slurred, “Are… are we still drinking?”
Jiao Nuan replied, “No more drinking. Let’s go back to the dorm.”
Two male club members lingered nearby, staring at Su Hui. One of them offered, “I’ll take her back.”
The other quickly chimed in, unwilling to be outdone, “I’ll do it. I know where her dorm is. It’s too far for her to walk in this state.”
Jiao Nuan hesitated. “Wait a moment—I’ll see.”
She had no choice; she couldn’t carry Su Hui on her own.
Handing Su Hui over to these club members wasn’t an option—Su Hui often talked about wanting a boyfriend, but privately, she valued herself and didn’t interact much with boys.
Just then, the phone in Su Hui’s bag rang.
In her drunken haze, Su Hui fumbled for it, holding it upside down to her ear. “Hello? Hello? Why aren’t you… why aren’t you talking?”
Jiao Nuan was torn between laughter and exasperation.
When Su Hui threatened to throw the phone in frustration, Jiao Nuan quickly grabbed it. Seeing the name on the screen, she felt relieved and immediately answered, “Is this Su Hui’s brother?”
Su Cheng paused, surprised. “Who are you?”
Jiao Nuan explained, “I’m a friend from Su Hui’s club. She just got drunk, and we’re at a restaurant now. I can’t get her back—so…”
“Which restaurant?”
His tone sent a shiver down Jiao Nuan’s spine. She gave the name of the place and hung up, trembling slightly.
He sounded terrifying.
Su Hui clung to Jiao Nuan, still somewhat conscious. “I want candy, Nuan Nuan.”
Jiao Nuan patted her face gently. “Be good. Your brother is bringing candy.”
Su Hui squinted, confused. “Who’s my brother?”
Jiao Nuan glanced at the man walking toward them from across the street, his demeanor elegant. She pointed, “There. That’s your brother.”
Su Hui followed her finger, squinting. “Haha, Su Cheng, you big jerk!”
Jiao Nuan: “….”
Su Cheng: “….”
Su Hui’s entire face was red as she draped herself over Jiao Nuan like an octopus, limp and boneless, mumbling incoherently.
It was the first time Su Cheng had seen her drunk. Her twin tails swayed back and forth, making her look adorable, especially when she squinted at him.
The two male students standing nearby looked utterly dejected, watching wistfully.
Su Cheng narrowed his eyes and crouched slightly. “I’ll carry her.”
Jiao Nuan quickly helped settle Su Hui onto Su Cheng’s back.
Finding her perch, Su Hui instinctively snuggled closer, wrapping her arms around Su Cheng’s neck and resting her head on his shoulder without needing any prompting.
Jiao Nuan sighed in relief. “Finally. I still need to buy some things. You take her back first—their dormmates are all there.”
Su Cheng grunted in acknowledgment.
After entering through the school gate, they took a small path to the girls’ dormitory—it was shorter. Usually, only students returning from evening study sessions used this route, so there were few people around at this time.
Dizzy and disoriented, Su Hui rested her head against Su Cheng’s back. Suddenly, she lifted her head abruptly and bumped into the back of his head, causing her to clutch her forehead in pain.
Su Cheng turned his head slightly. “Are you alright?”
Su Hui blinked in confusion for a few seconds before grabbing his collar and bursting into exaggerated sobs. “Waaah, Su Cheng, did you just hit me?”
Su Cheng: “….”
He chose not to argue with a drunk person.
Su Cheng hadn’t expected Su Hui to drink alcohol—her family strictly forbade it during high school, and she never had the chance. Who would’ve thought that just one month into university, she’d already gotten drunk like this? She had guts.
He said calmly, “I didn’t hit you.”
But Su Hui refused to believe him, persistently accusing, “You definitely hit me! Hit me! I’ll make sure you regret it!”
With that, she bit down on the side of his neck.
Su Cheng winced sharply, stopping under a tree as his heartbeat raced uncontrollably. Something within him stirred wildly.
Her soft, delicate body pressed against his back, separated only by a thin layer of T-shirt.
The image of her earlier performance flashed in his mind again—her slender waist exposed, swaying with every movement, captivating his attention.
After what felt like forever, Su Hui finally released her teeth. For some reason, she licked the spot once more and murmured softly, “Such tasty… meat…”
Su Cheng: “….”
Taking a deep breath, he furrowed his brows. “Stop moving around.”
Of course, Su Hui never listened to him. Instinctively, she wriggled her body, closing her eyes and warning groggily, “Don’t think about hitting me.”
Su Cheng retorted dryly, “I’m thinking about eating you.”
Upon hearing this, the thoroughly intoxicated Su Hui immediately thought of Wang Da Lu’s infamous “eating” meme and gasped in alarm. “Su Cheng, you pervert!”
Her ponytail dangled down, brushing against his chest and occasionally grazing his ear, tickling slightly.
Su Cheng simply admitted, “Yes, I’m a pervert.”
After all, she wouldn’t remember anything he said while drunk.
Su Hui stared at him in disbelief, tears welling up as she whimpered softly into his back. Then, she burst into loud, fake sobs. “How could you even think of eating me?!”
Thunder without rain—no tears came after all that noise.
