Psst! We're moving!
After saying this, Lu Chi quickly straightened up, standing there with a calm expression. Only his slightly red ears betrayed his emotions.
Tang Yin covered her face.
Even though Lu Chi’s voice had been perfectly normal when he said it so seriously, she felt as if he was seducing her.
The disciplinary director would probably be furious if he saw this scene now. He had deliberately arranged for them to leave separately, but they ended up going home together anyway.
True to her word, Tang Yin stood up.
She said with some regret: “You should have acted directly and kissed me. I’m right here.”
Lu Chi: ““
If he did that, it would probably never end.
Thinking of the soft touch, he suddenly felt heat in his chest. His gaze fell on her alluring lips, his throat moved, and he finally averted his eyes.
Seeing how shy he was, Tang Yin smiled and stopped teasing him. She finished the large ice cream, and then the two of them got into their respective cars.
Reflecting, reflecting—it simply meant staying at home without going out.
Three days passed in the blink of an eye, and Tang Yin returned to school before the evening self-study session.
With both main characters back in front of everyone, they were reminded of the previous apology incident.
The school’s punishment had been public. Due to their egregious behavior, Tang Yin was required to reflect at home for three full days—three whole days away from school—and Principal Tang had agreed.
Lu Chi was also sent home to reflect for a day.
Now that they were back, they became the center of attention at school, whether among the junior high or senior high students. Whenever they met someone on the road, they would receive a meaningful smile.
Previously, nighttime talks in the girls’ dormitory revolved around which boys were handsome, what happened in which class, or which teacher did something. Recently, all conversations had shifted to Tang Yin and Lu Chi.
This was probably what they called the entire school watching them date.
Returning didn’t mean the matter was over. The disciplinary director’s decision to separate them as desk partners was real.
At first, everyone thought it was just a threat, but when they returned from their reflection at home, their seats had indeed been changed.
Tang Yin preferred sitting in the back, and the disciplinary director couldn’t move her to the front. Besides, her height made sitting in the front rows unsuitable. Lu Chi was also tall, so naturally, he couldn’t sit in the front either.
In the end, they were seated in opposite corners of the classroom—one near the wall and the other near the back door, far apart.
To prevent them from secretly defying the rules, the disciplinary director even came to inspect every few classes, appearing unexpectedly like a ghost.
It was as if the homeroom teacher was spying on them.
Lu Ye and Su Xun were particularly gleeful, especially Su Xun, who had been startled last time just for talking to Tang Yin for a few sentences. This time, seeing them separated brought him inexplicable satisfaction.
The next class was biology.
The biology teacher was a female teacher who previously taught experimental classes. Though she wasn’t as gentle-spoken as Teacher Li, her cheerful personality allowed her to connect well with the students.
Last year, she missed a semester due to health reasons, but after returning this semester to teach Class Zero, the students still liked her very much.
Compared to the open-minded physics teacher, she was even more liberal.
When the school checked for romance novels, she had helped a girl hide several books and even read them with great interest herself.
Her popularity in Class Zero was no less than that of the physics teacher. Every class, many students listened attentively.
Tang Yin was good at biology. Last time, in the second mock exam, she only lost one point due to carelessness.
After entering senior year, most of the time was spent reviewing. For her, the knowledge wasn’t difficult. Instead, she was more concerned about new question types in math and physics.
Lu Ye rested his chin on his hand and said: “Last night’s quiz hasn’t been graded yet. I just went to the office, and the teacher said she’d grade while teaching this class.”
To save time, the students exchanged papers to grade themselves.
Tang Ming, the biology class representative, had just distributed the test papers, deliberately handing Tang Yin and Lu Chi their own papers.
Lu Ye watched the papers fly away and said: “Oh, I wanted to see the top student’s paper. Such an unkind deskmate.”
Tang Ming chuckled: “Who asked Tang Yin and me to be family five hundred years ago? Hehehe.”
By now, Tang Yin had woken up.
Lu Chi unfolded his test paper, and familiar handwriting came into view—neat and tidy, somewhat like her, but also somewhat unlike her.
He turned his head towards the back door, just in time to see Tang Yin’s new deskmate sit down.
There were more boys than girls in the science classes, and even fewer tall girls. Since Tang Yin sat in the back, there were no other girls to pair with her, so she ended up with a male deskmate.
Su Xun sat in front of her.
Lu Chi narrowed his eyes. Su Xun was turning his head, chatting with Tang Yin, his mouth moving animatedly, clearly in a good mood.
Tang Yin rested her head on her arm, her post-sleep laziness evident.
Su Xun said: “Sis Yin, please help me out.”
“You’ve asked her so many times, and Wen Yue doesn’t want to agree. It’s useless to ask me.” Tang Yin replied slowly.
Su Xun clasped his hands together: “Just help me once in your name. I’ll treat you to something.”
Tang Yin tilted her chin, seemingly considering the request.
Suddenly, a shadow fell beside her, and the sound of a chair being gently pulled out woke the two of them.
Tang Yin turned her head and saw Lu Chi sitting next to her. She asked in confusion: “Why are you here? Class is about to start.”
She looked at his original seat and saw her new deskmate happily chatting with Lu Ye and others.
Lu Chi held his chin tightly and said reservedly: “Switch, switch seats.”
Since Lu Chi arrived, Su Xun immediately turned his head and decided never to talk to Tang Yin again.
The bell rang.
For the fixed seating arrangement in the class, half a semester had already passed, and the teachers were basically clear about it.
When the biology teacher walked in, nothing seemed amiss, but something felt off, though she couldn’t pinpoint it.
“This probability problem, and some of you still got it wrong,” she said, her eyes scanning the classroom.
Soon, she found the source of the disharmony.
The biology teacher coughed lightly: “Lu Chi, isn’t your seat over there?”
Given how sensational the previous events had been, the teachers naturally couldn’t be unaware. Moreover, the news of the disciplinary director changing their seats had spread throughout the office.
Sometimes, the disciplinary director’s inspections coincided with Zhou Cheng’s.
Everyone in the classroom turned their heads simultaneously.
They had been busy writing quizzes or sleeping during the break and hadn’t noticed the commotion in the corner. They realized that Lu Chi had secretly moved over there.
How bold of him, not fearing the disciplinary director’s sudden inspection.
The biology teacher stifled a laugh, unable to help but comment: “Lu Chi, this is a bit too obvious.”
Not only obvious, but downright blatant.
The classmates couldn’t help but laugh. After the previous incident, the two of them showed absolutely no restraint, feeding everyone dog food happily.
Being called out in front of everyone, even the thickest-skinned person would blush, let alone Lu Chi.
Lu Chi’s expression didn’t change. He simply raised his test paper to cover his face, but Tang Yin saw everything clearly.
He was shy again.
So cute. She stealthily reached out to pinch his cheek: “Jealousy jar.”
Lu Chi slightly turned his head to look at her, his eyes seemingly conveying a sense of grievance.
Tang Yin really wanted to pull him into her arms and cuddle him.
Fortunately, the biology teacher only teased lightly and didn’t dwell on it. With a few words, she redirected the students’ attention to the test papers.
Still, some people couldn’t help but glance back.
But all they could see was a thin sheet of test paper.
After the noon nap, Tang Yin and Su Kexi headed to the teaching building.
In the middle of the day, most people went directly to class. This was the time when the number of students in the school became apparent.
The weather was neither hot nor cold, so Tang Yin took the main road this time.
Not long after, she spotted someone ahead—Lu Chi walking together with Lu Ye and Tang Ming.
She smiled, waved to her roommates, and quietly chased after them from behind.
Perhaps because there was ample time, they weren’t walking fast. Otherwise, with the boys’ longer strides, she might not have caught up.
“Tonight, the physics teacher is giving another quiz. Sigh,” Lu Ye lamented, accidentally dropping his pen.
They now carried books and pens directly back to the dormitory for midday review; backpacks and such were left in the classroom.
Lu Ye bent down to pick up his pen and saw Tang Yin behind him.
Before he could say anything, Tang Yin shook her head at him. Lu Ye instantly understood and pretended nothing had happened, subtly catching up with the two in front and walking to Tang Ming’s side.
Tang Yin lightened her steps and reached out to tap Lu Chi’s shoulder.
Unexpectedly, Lu Chi suddenly turned his head, and they locked eyes directly.
From his expression, it seemed he had known she was behind him all along.
Tang Yin: ““
She felt a bit foolish just now.
“Hahaha.” Seeing her flustered, Lu Ye and Tang Ming couldn’t help but burst into laughter.
A faint smile appeared in Lu Chi’s eyes.
Entering the administrative building, there were significantly fewer people since the junior high section had already turned elsewhere. Only the senior high section remained.
Although Lu Chi requested that things change after the college entrance exam, it didn’t make any difference. Tang Yin never took it seriously.
“If I fall asleep during physics class, you must wake me up,” Tang Yin said. “The physics teacher seems to like asking me questions recently.”
Lu Chi thought to himself: Maybe it’s because you’re too arrogant.
“Sigh”
Before she could finish her long sigh, a shadow suddenly fell over her, darkening her vision.
A broad palm covered her eyes, its coolness chilling her skin.
Tang Yin reached out to pull his hand: “Why are you covering my eyes?”
She had been walking fine, so why did he suddenly do this? Although she loved this kind of intimate contact.
At that moment, a muffled thud of something heavy hitting the ground sounded not far away.
Screams erupted around them, accompanied by chaotic footsteps.
Lu Chi couldn’t cover her ears with one hand. After a quick thought, he whispered softly in her ear: “Close your eyes, don’t open them.”
Though she didn’t know what was happening, Tang Yin obediently closed her eyes and clutched his arm tightly.
Lu Chi glanced at the scene not far away. His lips pressed tightly together, almost forming a straight line, and his dark eyes reflected a crimson hue.
Teachers emerged from the corridors, dispersing the crowd of onlookers.
He knew what had happened, moved his gaze, and finally took her hand, gripping her slender wrist, walking a bit faster.
Tang Yin didn’t understand. She hadn’t expected Lu Chi to be so strong; she couldn’t pry his hand open and had no choice but to follow behind.
She wanted to open her eyes, but Lu Chi obviously wasn’t doing this intentionally. He likely didn’t want her to see something.
Just like the first time they went to the bookstore, he didn’t want her to see the drunk man urinating.
Now, she was like a blind person, her world reduced to senses outside of sight.
There were many screams around, voices were chaotic, and some people even spoke in dialects. Nobody knew what had happened.
The sensation in this darkness was exceptionally thrilling, making her heart race.
Someone accidentally bumped into her, causing Tang Yin to stumble and nearly slip.
Lu Chi’s grip tightened further.
