Psst! We're moving!
For a moment, the entire classroom’s attention was focused on the two of them.
The teacher at the podium smiled. “Since you’re here to listen in, you should solve this problem. Let me see how well you’ve understood.”
She had occasionally glanced over during class. This girl was either on her phone or daydreaming—she had only listened for a few minutes.
Tang Yin: “...”
What could she do? She was helpless.
Yang Yue also looked at her, wondering what made her different from other girls. In the end, she found nothing.
Her desk mate, who was also her roommate, said, “She’s very pretty and probably hasn’t had plastic surgery. Her entrance scores must have been good too. I feel like I’ve seen her somewhere before.”
Yang Yue turned away. “Maybe we saw her during club recruitment, passing by on the road.”
Though she liked Lu Chi, she wasn’t the type to cause trouble. The two clearly had strong feelings for each other. Interfering would be useless and embarrassing.
Tang Yin kicked Lu Chi with her foot.
Lu Chi sighed, understanding the teacher’s implication. He softly whispered.
His voice was low but clear. Tang Yin’s sharp ears quickly caught his instructions. Though not detailed, they were enough for her to write something down.
And since it was just the first day or two of learning, the question wasn’t difficult.
Tang Yin lightly coughed, went to the podium, and ended up writing only half of the solution on the board. She smiled at the teacher.
Higher mathematics was different from high school math. Even if she was clever, she still needed to study. Without taking this course, solving the problem wasn’t easy.
However, the steps Lu Chi gave her were simple. Memorizing them allowed her to deduce further. This process she still understood.
The teacher watched, not expecting her to answer. Writing half of it earned her a nod. “Which college are you from?”
Tang Yin obediently replied, “Foreign Languages School.”
The teacher didn’t dwell on it, waving her hand to let her return as she continued explaining the problem.
After returning to her seat, Tang Yin exhaled deeply, complaining, “If you had told me your teacher calls on people to answer questions, I wouldn’t have come to this class...”
It was terrifying, even more so than high school.
Lu Chi looked at her, saying nothing.
Tang Yin belatedly realized that he gave her the answer and she complained, quickly smoothing things over. “My fault, alright? I’ll come every day to watch you.”
Lu Chi finally nodded in satisfaction.
Tang Yin couldn’t help but think inwardly: the more Lu Chi progressed in university, the more his true personality showed. Now, he didn’t hide anything.
After a while, she leaned over and whispered, “Tomorrow I might have a game. Are you coming to watch?”
Sunlight streamed through the window, partially blocked by the curtains, casting light and shadow on her face. It highlighted her fair, delicate skin, almost making her fine hairs visible.
Lu Chi heard his own voice: “Alright.”
The friendly match on Sunday in November began.
Zhang Yuan informed Tang Yin about it because this year, the school recruited fewer sports talents, especially for the women’s basketball team, though they still had enough players.
Tang Yin was placed as a substitute.
She didn’t feel strongly about this arrangement. If she played, she would give her best; if not, she’d cheer from the sidelines.
However, she had never participated in an official game before.
Previously, she had attended one of Tang Yun’s games. His team had many handsome guys, attracting mostly female spectators whose cheers echoed loudly.
That game had been thrilling, and even as a spectator, she enjoyed it immensely.
This match was at G University.
G University’s basketball court was indoors, beautifully constructed with ample seating. They had prepared extensively for this friendly match and secured sponsorships.
S University also had sponsors.
Their entire team went to the stadium and stayed in the rest area behind, waiting to go on the court.
The friendly match was simple—it was initiated by both schools’ teams themselves, different from league matches. It was meant for training purposes.
However, students from both universities were enthusiastic, filling the seats early—not just girls, but also a large number of boys.
In the rest area, Zhang Yuan and her teammates were warming up.
Tang Yin idly spun the ball, calm and unruffled. Perhaps she wouldn’t even play today.
Her entry as a substitute was thanks to Zhang Yuan’s efforts. She had played with several team members and trained together for two months.
Otherwise, being individually skilled was useless without teamwork.
Lin Lu, a teammate in the same class as Zhang Yuan, asked, “Hey, Tang Yin, is your boyfriend coming to watch your game? I heard he’s quite handsome.”
She winked at her teammate, laughing mischievously.
Tang Yin turned around, seeing the two giggling uncontrollably, and smiled. “If he dares not come, I’ll make him regret it.”
Lin Lu exclaimed, “Good! Let all our teammates give him a hard time!”
The girls burst into laughter.
Tang Yin pulled out her phone and sent a message: “Are you here yet?”
No reply came.
TangTangTang: You must come this afternoon.
Lu Chi stared at his phone’s schedule for a long while, finally focusing on that class before turning it off.
His roommates were getting ready to attend class. This was a major lecture, not very important, with only a final assessment. Usually, no one listened during class.
Occasionally, there would be roll call.
One roommate asked, “Lu Chi, aren’t you going? What if the teacher calls attendance today?”
Another boy patted him. “Don’t you know? Today our school is playing basketball against the neighboring school. Lu Chi’s girlfriend is there—he’s definitely going to watch.”
The roommate scratched his head and laughed. “Oh, I see. Then I’ll try to answer for you if there’s a roll call.”
Living together for three months, their relationship was quite good.
Initially, they thought Lu Chi would be difficult to get along with, but later discovered he wasn’t. Generally, he wouldn’t get angry over anything, and they considered him to have a good temper.
Everyone knew about his girlfriend incident in class. When he returned, they teased him endlessly, only to learn that the two had known each other since high school. Though they weren’t officially dating then, they were close.
Now in university, they were free to express themselves.
Lu Chi put away his phone. “Thanks.”
“We’re roommates. No need to thank me. Next time, I might need you to answer for me. I’m leaving now. Remember to lock the door.” With that, the three left the dormitory.
The air conditioning had just been turned off, leaving a lingering coolness.
Outside was a stark contrast, extremely hot.
On this sunny Sunday afternoon, there weren’t many people on campus. Lu Chi walked alone, beads of sweat forming on his nose.
Thinking about it, he opened the umbrella Tang Yin had left with him last time.
He usually didn’t like using umbrellas, but Tang Yin couldn’t handle the sun. If it was a small sun, they’d use an umbrella when going out.
Besides, he thought it was fine. Otherwise, her skin might get sunburned, which would be uncomfortable.
S University and G University were not far apart. Ten minutes after leaving the gate, Lu Chi arrived.
From the road, the indoor stadium’s roof was easily visible, uniquely designed and eye-catching.
Beside him, two girls going to watch the game were chatting.
“I heard Fang Minghe is coming to watch the game today. I wonder if we can meet him. Talking to him would be great—I’ve had a crush on him for a long time.”
“Good luck with that. His surrounding seats are probably all taken. Getting his WeChat would be a win.”
“Speaking of which, Fang Minghe is already a junior. Why hasn’t he dated yet? Aren’t there plenty of beauties at G University?”
“I don’t know either. Sigh.”
Lu Chi listened to them talk about this person all the way to the stadium, where he closed his umbrella.
Many people had arrived, sitting in groups. He found an empty seat, ensuring he could see below clearly.
Only the cheerleading squad was on the court.
He opened WeChat and saw Tang Yin’s recent message, replying.
LuLuLu: I’m here.
Energetic music started, and the cheerleading squad began dancing.
Both schools’ teams entered the court, causing significant cheers. Clearly, their popularity was high.
Lu Chi put away his phone as someone sat beside him.
The person was tall, looking sunny and handsome, wearing an oversized jersey, hair wet and styled upwards.
The person glanced at him and smiled.
Lu Chi met his gaze, slightly nodding, quickly looking away to focus on those entering.
S University’s team uniform was dark red, sleeveless and long, making the tall girls look very spirited. Girls always loved these uniforms, and the school sold similar ones.
He immediately spotted Tang Yin.
Her fair skin against the dark red uniform was captivating. Her petite face seemed to glow, her features delicate and beautiful, smiling with crescent-shaped eyes.
Still as eye-catching as ever.
In the rest area, everyone had changed into their uniforms.
Tang Yin stretched her bare arms, turning around excitedly.
“Hear the cheers? Winning will bring even louder ones,” Zhang Yuan encouraged everyone, entering one by one. “Today, friendship comes first, but we aim to win the match. We can’t let G University underestimate us.”
All the girls responded in unison.
They had competed before, so they could control their excitement, unlike Tang Yin’s first time.
Tang Yin was also infected by the atmosphere, her heart racing, smiling even wider, though she might not play.
When sitting on the bench, she looked towards the stands.
Before the game started, the audience scrutinized both teams’ players, introducing them to those nearby.
“Hey, is that freshman opposite? She looks good, with such a small face. What’s her name?”
“Let me check... I found it. Her name is Tang Yin, a freshman this year. But why would S University send a freshman?”
“Why do you care so much? Just enjoy the beauty. Today’s match seems interesting.”
Faint murmurs reached Lu Chi’s ears.
He took several deep breaths, concealing his intense gaze, ultimately remaining calm as he looked down.
He had long known that Tang Yin would attract attention.
After all, that’s how it was for him initially.
Lin Lu drank mineral water, watching Tang Yin search for something, teasing, “Looking for your boyfriend?”
Tang Yin rubbed her face. “Of course.”
As soon as she finished speaking, she saw Lu Chi across the way, seemingly isolated among others, cold and handsome.
She waved her arm and smiled at him.
Lu Chi lightly nodded at her.
Before he could react, two people behind discussed again. “Oh, oh, oh, is that freshman looking here? At me? At you?”
“Anyway, not at you. Maybe she’s looking at Fang Minghe? After all, he’s the male god of mass appeal, hahaha.”
The guy patted the person next to Lu Chi, laughing. “Fang Minghe, look at the cute-faced junior from S University. She’s looking at you.”
Lu Chi tensed up, slightly turning his face to look.
Fang Minghe, patted on the shoulder, turned to look, meeting the gaze of the person beside him. He couldn’t help but smile warmly.
Lu Chi pursed his lips, coldly turning away.
Fang Minghe felt puzzled, touching his nose, thinking perhaps he was disliked by a passerby?
