Psst! We're moving!
“......”
Chi Zhiyu was well aware of this man’s way with words, but hearing him so candidly admit to being “impatient,” her mind still froze for a moment. Once she caught her breath, she coughed lightly and said, “Focus on preparing for your competition first. Don’t think about these things all day.”
Xie Ye lazily hummed an “Oh,” replying in a slow, deliberate tone, “How do you know I’ve been thinking about it all day?”
“......” Chi Zhiyu nearly choked, “That’s just a figure of speech. Don’t twist my words.”
Xie Ye raised an eyebrow.
Seeing that he had chatted with her for so long, Chi Zhiyu immediately urged him to go rest. “Go get some sleep. Didn’t you stay up late last night?”
Xie Ye didn’t respond to that. Instead, glancing at his schedule, he countered, “When is your graduation ceremony?”
“July 8th.” Chi Zhiyu blinked, “What? Do you have time to come?”
Xie Ye casually replied, “It depends.”
Upon hearing this, Chi Zhiyu thought about the scene at the time and frowned slightly, “I don’t think you should come. There will be so many people that day. If you get discovered, I won’t help you.”
“......”
Xie Ye was amused by her response, “Chi Zhiyu, do you have any sense of being a girlfriend?”
“Huh?” Chi Zhiyu was momentarily stunned, “What did I do?”
Xie Ye pointed at her, “Is there such a girlfriend who doesn’t let her boyfriend attend her graduation ceremony?”
Chi Zhiyu paused for a moment and kindly expressed concern, “I’m just worried that your fans might discover you and surround you.”
Xie Ye didn’t say anything, waiting for her explanation.
Chi Zhiyu continued, “Besides, there’s nothing special about a graduation ceremony. It’s just sitting there listening to speeches from leaders and student representatives, taking pictures. If you want to see photos, I’ll show them to you after I return.”
Xie Ye smirked, “It’s not the same.”
Chi Zhiyu: “How is it different?”
Xie Ye arrogantly opened his mouth: “Looking at photos and seeing my girlfriend in person—can those two experiences be the same?”
“......”
It seemed... somewhat reasonable.
Chi Zhiyu blinked and nodded, “Mm, indeed they’re not the same. Then you can come when the time comes, to see your naturally beautiful girlfriend.”
Xie Ye: “......”
Xie Ye: “?”
Teasing him, Chi Zhiyu chuckled and then urged him to rest again, but Xie Ye still didn’t go. They briefly chatted a bit more.
Chi Zhiyu felt this wasn’t working, so she directly said, “Talk after you wake up, goodbye.”
With that, she pressed the red button and hung up.
Wu Xuan sat next to her, eating an apple and watching her, pondering aloud, “You’re quite heartless as a girlfriend.”
“?” Chi Zhiyu poured herself a glass of water to drink, “What did I do?”
“I always see you hanging up on Xie Ye first, and your attitude is pretty bad,” Wu Xuan clicked her tongue, “What’s going on? How can you hang up on our Wild like this so coldly?”
“Are you and Xie Ye conspiring today to collectively criticize me?” Chi Zhiyu found it amusing while drinking water, “One says I lack the attitude of a girlfriend, and now you say I’m heartless.”
“Huh?” Wu Xuan was momentarily stunned, “Why does Xie Ye say you lack the attitude of a girlfriend?”
Chi Zhiyu explained her earlier refusal to let Xie Ye come, but before giving reasons, Wu Xuan indignantly interjected, “Chi Zhiyu, you’re getting arrogant. How can you not let your boyfriend attend your graduation ceremony?”
Chi Zhiyu raised an eyebrow, “Then why didn’t you let your boyfriend come?”
Wu Xuan’s boyfriend was someone she started dating in her junior year. Chi Zhiyu knew him but wasn’t close. He was a musical actor from the same theater, one year older than them, and after graduation, he stayed at the theater.
“I...” Wu Xuan hesitated, “I’m doing this for his own good. He has rehearsals and performances.”
Chi Zhiyu snorted, “Well, I’m doing this for Xie Ye’s sake too.”
“......” Wu Xuan was just joking around, waving her hand dismissively, “But even if Xie Ye comes, it’s fine. He usually wears a hat. Unless you’re into esports, who would recognize him?”
After saying that, she pointed to Guan Lingling and Yi Jun behind her, “These two didn’t recognize him initially, right?”
Guan Lingling coughed, “Little Xuanzi, that’s harsh. Why bring us into this?”
Previously, when Yi Jun and Guan Lingling happened to meet Xie Ye downstairs in the dormitory when he was dropping someone off, he hadn’t worn a hat that day because he found it troublesome. When they saw his face, they were momentarily stunned. After exchanging brief greetings, they followed Chi Zhiyu upstairs, pulling her aside mysteriously and promising to keep it a secret.
At the time, Chi Zhiyu thought they knew, but to her surprise, both of them assumed Xie Ye was an actor or singer secretly dating someone.
It turned out to be a big joke.
“I was just giving an example,” Wu Xuan waved her hand, “It just shows that most people probably think similarly when they see Xie Ye.”
“That’s true,” Yi Jun looked at Chi Zhiyu, “Let Brother Xie come without worries. Besides, graduation is approaching; it’s time for other girls to see what they’re missing.”
Chi Zhiyu laughed, about to respond, when her phone suddenly rang. She glanced at it, paused, picked it up, and walked to the balcony. After a brief silence, she answered.
Aunt Wang’s voice came through first, “Xiaoyu, are you coming over this weekend?”
“Maybe, depending on the situation,” Chi Zhiyu listened to the sounds on the other side, “Is Mom asleep?”
“Mm, she was restless earlier, then fell asleep.”
“What was she upset about?” Chi Zhiyu asked, “Does she need to call Mr. Chi?”
Upon hearing this, Aunt Wang sighed, “After Mr. Chi visited once last month, Mrs. Bai’s mood had gradually improved, but recently...”
Chi Zhiyu’s voice remained calm, “Then let her be upset. If necessary, give her some sedatives.”
“I know. Don’t worry too much,” Aunt Wang didn’t want her to stress over this, “Rest well. Let me know if you plan to come back.”
Chi Zhiyu hummed in acknowledgment, “Alright, thank you, Aunt Wang.”
The call ended, and Chi Zhiyu stood there for a while, enjoying the breeze before turning back to the room.

The next weekend, as usual, Chi Zhiyu went to the YG Club to visit. Just as she opened the door and entered, the young trainees downstairs spotted her and joyfully greeted, “Good morning, Sister-in-law. You’re just in time. Wild just woke up and is in the kitchen.”
Hearing him automatically report Xie Ye’s location like radar, Chi Zhiyu thanked him with a smile and took the elevator to the second-floor kitchen. She glanced at the time—10:30 AM—a normal waking-up schedule.
However, when she messaged him earlier saying she was coming, he didn’t reply, possibly still asleep.
Chi Zhiyu headed toward the kitchen. The door was open, and she saw Xie Ye standing in front of the countertop washing his hands, looking sleepy. The microwave beside him was running, heating something. It beeped just as it finished.
Chi Zhiyu approached him, noticing he was clearly still half-asleep. She blinked, “Why are you suddenly in the kitchen?”
This guy usually wakes up and eats lunch directly. When does he ever come to the kitchen?
“A bit hungry,” Xie Ye’s eyelids drooped. He glanced at the tea table behind him, “Sit there.”
“......”
Xie Ye grabbed a tissue, dried his hands, opened the microwave, and carried the breakfast inside to sit down. He casually placed the warmed milk in front of her, “Drink.”
“......”
Chi Zhiyu was amused by him.
Earlier that morning, she had complained to him via text about how the cafeteria’s breakfast milk had turned strawberry-flavored.
And here he was, providing her with plain milk—whether incidentally or intentionally, she couldn’t tell.
Chi Zhiyu slowly sipped the milk, watching him quietly eat his sandwich. Curious, she asked, “Did you just happen to wake up, or did my text wake you?”
Xie Ye glanced at her, “Alarm clock.”
“......”
Impressive.
Chi Zhiyu snorted, drank a few more sips, but couldn’t finish it all. She naturally placed the half-full glass next to him and casually asked, “How’s your big lecture going?”
“Oh.” Xie Ye’s tone was casual, “Just like that. Attending casually.”
“What do you mean ‘just like that’?” Chi Zhiyu eyed him, “Are you sleeping through all of them?”
Xie Ye: “What’s wrong with sleeping?”
Chi Zhiyu blinked, “They’re all freshmen. You can’t corrupt them.”
Xie Ye raised his eyes and lazily asked, “Am I not one?”
“You...” Chi Zhiyu carefully chose her words, “You’re sort of a senior freshman.”
“......”
Xie Ye ignored her, picking up the remaining milk to drink.
Chi Zhiyu glanced at the time, planning to clean up his dishes, when Old Mu suddenly appeared, calling out repeatedly, “Xie Ye! Wild! Xie Ye!”
The voice arrived before the person.
Chi Zhiyu was momentarily stunned, turning her head to look behind the door, meeting Old Mu’s gaze. He also paused, “Hmm? Little Chi, why are you here today?”
“?” Chi Zhiyu hesitated slightly, “Is something happening today?”
Old Mu pointed at Xie Ye, “We’re going out for an interview today. Didn’t Xie Ye tell you yesterday?”
Chi Zhiyu turned to look at him, “You have an interview today?”
Upon hearing this, Xie Ye paused for two seconds, perhaps only remembering it now, and furrowed his brows, “Forgot.”
“......”
Old Mu scolded him, “I just told you yesterday, and you forgot?”
Xie Ye smiled, “Is that a problem?”
“......” Old Mu had already been worn down by his attitude, waving his hand dismissively, “Fine, fine. It makes no difference anyway. Hurry up and get ready to go with me.”
Hearing this, Chi Zhiyu said, “Then I’ll head back first.”
Old Mu looked at her, suddenly recalling something, “Little Chi, are you free today?”
“Mm.” After responding, Chi Zhiyu hesitated slightly, looking at him, “Don’t tell me...”
Old Mu exchanged a knowing smile with her, “That’s the idea.”
Chi Zhiyu felt somewhat helpless.
She was being asked to be a companion again.
There was a previous instance when Park Ro had something to do, and Chi Zhiyu happened to come over to deliver something to Xie Ye. Old Mu directly pulled her along to the work site to fill Park Ro’s spot.
“No problem, familiarity grows with repetition,” Old Mu gestured for her to come over, “Come on, it’s just an interview. Besides, with you here, Xie Ye’s temper will be better. He won’t keep arguing with reporters, and the outcome will be better.”
After speaking, he urged Xie Ye to hurry downstairs and rendezvous, then took Chi Zhiyu out first to grab the previously prepared ID badges.
Later, Chi Zhiyu, wearing Xie Ye’s team uniform, got into the car. Most of the people inside had already arrived. Seeing her come in, they greeted her warmly. Chi Zhiyu smiled and nodded, walking to the back and sitting next to Xie Ye.
Xie Ye reached over to take the ID badge hanging from her chest, reading the name on it, and slowly remarked, “Charming Miss Gardenia? Hmm, the staff name suits you quite well.”
“......”
Boasting about himself.
Chi Zhiyu snatched the ID badge back and glared at him, “When we talked on the phone yesterday, why didn’t you mention you had work today?”
Xie Ye naturally took her hand and played with it, “I was going to say, but you hung up first.”
The implication was clear.
If I didn’t say it, it’s because you didn’t give me the chance, so it’s not my fault.
“......”
Chi Zhiyu almost choked, feeling irritated. She poked his palm with her fingertip, “In a bit, I’ll have to wear a mask and a cap again. Others might think I’m sick.”
Xie Ye leisurely replied, “Then don’t wear them.”
Chi Zhiyu frowned, “What if someone takes a picture of me?”
Xie Ye smiled, “All the cameras will be on me. Who’s going to photograph you?”
“We’ll see about that.” Chi Zhiyu found it unreliable and didn’t agree.
Xie Ye didn’t care either way, completely unconcerned. He gently pinched her fingertips, “What do you want for a graduation gift?”
Upon hearing this, Chi Zhiyu blinked, “You’re really coming?”
“What do you mean ‘really coming’? Have you no conscience?” Xie Ye looked at her expressionlessly, “I rushed here, and you still want to chase me away?”
“Not at all.” Chi Zhiyu hooked her finger with his, “I’m just confirming. I’m not chasing you away.”
Xie Ye stared at her, clearly not buying her act.
Chi Zhiyu added, “Then I can introduce my boyfriend to others.”
“......”
Xie Ye seemed to recall something, slowly saying, “Oh, introducing my naturally handsome boyfriend?”
Chi Zhiyu smiled and nodded, “Yes, my handsome boyfriend.”
Upon hearing this, Xie Ye lightly snorted but didn’t refute her.
There was a sense of “you finally understand.”
Chi Zhiyu couldn’t help but laugh, reaching out to touch his faintly upturned lips.
As if having taken advantage of her, Xie Ye glanced at her, “What are you doing?”
Chi Zhiyu blinked, “Do you know how you always look when you mock others?”
Xie Ye: “How do I look?”
Chi Zhiyu slowly replied, “Like you’re asking for a beating.”
“......”
Not the first time someone said this to him, but hearing it from her now, Xie Ye glanced down at her, paused for two seconds, and then smiled, “Chi Zhiyu, you’re quite bold today.”
“Huh? Am I?” Chi Zhiyu didn’t feel anything.
Xie Ye stared at her face, his dark eyes fixed on her. He slowly rubbed the corner of her lips with his fingertip, then tilted his head closer to her ear, his tone somewhat mischievous, “So bold, do you want to pay me... physical compensation?”
His words were ambiguous, carrying a hint of suggestion.
Before Chi Zhiyu could react, Xie Ye suddenly bit her earlobe cartilage, licked it with his tongue, and then withdrew.
Feeling the warm sensation on her ear, Chi Zhiyu’s mind blanked for a second. Noticing others still sitting in front, she instantly held her breath, feeling her ear where he bit burn as if on fire.
Heat rushed to her cheeks. Realizing what happened, Chi Zhiyu immediately turned her head to glare at him, afraid of losing control of her voice volume. She could only scold his misbehavior with her eyes.
Xie Ye leaned back against the seat, his eyes as dark as ink. Meeting her gaze, he raised an eyebrow, supremely arrogant.
“......”
Unable to resist, Chi Zhiyu pinched his waist to vent her embarrassment.
Watching her reaction, Xie Ye retracted his jaw and chuckled to himself. Then, covering her hand resting on his waist with his palm, he dragged out a laugh and hissed, “Easy, domestic violence.”
Chi Zhiyu coldly huffed, “What ease? I didn’t pinch your face.”
As she spoke, she stopped pinching, letting him hold her hand casually.
“Just a reminder, I still have to perform later,” Xie Ye paused for two seconds, smirking meaningfully, “Pinch marks wouldn’t look good.”
“......”
Chi Zhiyu regretted not pinching harder earlier.
But there was no time for regrets. Coincidentally, the vehicle arrived at the destination, and Ding Hui and others slowly got out.
Chi Zhiyu took out her cap, and Xie Ye took it with one hand, placing it on her head. He tucked her stray hairs behind her ears and adjusted it for her, his movements intimate and practiced.
Chi Zhiyu retrieved her mask, about to put it on when Xie Ye grabbed her hand first. Standing up lazily, he muttered, “Let’s go.”
“But wait, my mask...” Chi Zhiyu didn’t finish her sentence before Xie Ye had already pulled her out of the car. Following the group ahead, he released her hand, letting her stand behind him.
Chi Zhiyu felt somewhat helpless but let it be.
No mask, no problem. There weren’t any frontal photos of her online anyway.
Old Mu noticed she was only wearing a cap, raised an eyebrow, and led the group towards the interview room without further comment.
This was a pre-tournament interview for the World Championship, recorded live. Each team had to be interviewed. Yesterday, it was Drop Team’s turn, and the questions were mostly standard official ones. However, each member would have their individual interviews afterward, leading to more diverse inquiries.
Chi Zhiyu stood behind the camera with Old Mu, watching the four seated members opposite. The reporter was holding a microphone, asking about their thoughts on the upcoming match.
Ding Hui, as the captain, gave very diplomatic responses on behalf of the team, followed by others adding a few words.
Xie Ye didn’t participate in this segment at all. As if he hadn’t heard the reporter’s question, he sat lazily on his seat, occasionally glancing at the people behind the camera.
“......”
Seeing this, Chi Zhiyu silently turned to glance at Old Mu.
He looked thoroughly satisfied.
Old Mu was probably used to it by now, finding Xie Ye’s silence preferable to his talking.
After all, when this guy speaks, it’s rarely anything good.
The reporters, having interviewed YG before, naturally knew Wild’s temperament and didn’t actively prompt him.
After a few more questions, they moved on to the individual Q&A session.
The reporter followed the seating order, starting with Xie Ye.
Meeting Xie Ye’s expressionless face, the reporter swallowed nervously, maintaining their composure and asking several routine questions before suddenly jumping to the next one.
“We all know Wild chose to become an esports player after graduating high school. Generally, most join clubs during middle or high school. Before that, you already had a high popularity. So why did you enter club training after high school?”
Xie Ye seemed to find the question a bit silly, casually replying, “College entrance exam.”
The reporter paused, “But as far as we know, you were a top student admitted to Ruobei University. Normally, you wouldn’t need to take the college entrance exam. Did you want to experience it?”
Hearing this, Xie Ye smirked, “No.”
The reporters: “Then why?”
Xie Ye raised his eyes, glanced at Chi Zhiyu behind him, then lazily looked into the camera, calmly saying, “Oh, I accompanied her.”
Perhaps guessing his abbreviation, the reporter hesitated before expanding, “Accompanying your girlfriend?”
Upon hearing this, Xie Ye raised an eyebrow and praised, “You’re very smart.”
“......”
