Psst! We're moving!
“I endured a lot and waited a long time.” After their first night until now, these words best expressed Kang-joon’s feelings. Yet, he managed to control the desire that threatened to explode within him. As the careful, gentle kisses continued, his heart pounded as if it would burst through his chest. It was the first time he had ever been so blindly drawn to someone, or felt such intense emotions. He felt a pounding in his heart he hadn’t experienced even as a teenage boy. He also learned for the first time that such a powerfully beating heart existed within his chest. Just looking at you makes my heart warm. Just a brush of your fingertips sends shivers through my entire body. You are that kind of being to me, Joo Se-hee. Why did she feel like she was slipping away so smoothly the more he tried to hold her in his hand? As his feelings for his wife grew, Kang-joon’s anxiety also swelled. His large hand caressed her slender back, making her small shoulders flinch.
“Kang-joon, wait...”
Even her shy, delicate voice was softly swallowed by Kang-joon. His throat convulsed as he heard the soft rustle of fabric sliding down her smooth skin. This dress might be uncomfortable for his wife, but for Kang-joon, it was incredibly easy to remove. From now on, I’ll have to buy her only clothes with zippers instead of buttons. Kang-joon chuckled to himself, but his thoughts stopped there. Taeryeong tightly hugged his neck and whispered shyly, “Let’s go to the bedroom.”
His reason teetered on the brink of snapping. Holding Taeryeong, Kang-joon strode forward. The sensation of her sleek legs wrapped around his waist, trying not to fall, was dizzying. They arrived at the bedroom. Kang-joon gently laid Taeryeong on the bed and quietly looked at her. Her clear eyes, shy yet not avoiding his gaze, staring up at him, were provocative. His vision felt like it was boiling, so Kang-joon bent down again. The feeling of kissing her smooth, shrinking shoulders was close to reverence. If their first night was like a beast’s, he wanted their second night to be courteous. If he had consumed her completely, red and intense, now he wanted to connect slowly. Kang-joon straightened up again, his eyes calmly sweeping the bedroom. The evening bedroom, where night hadn’t fully arrived, was adequately lit. He was fine, but thinking his wife might be shy, Kang-joon carefully asked, “Shall I turn off the light?”
Taeryeong looked at her husband with trembling eyes. She had expected to be devoured as soon as she lay on the bed. But her husband’s eyes, looking down at her now, were hot but calm.
“What about you, Kang-joon?”
When Taeryeong retorted, Kang-joon chuckled. “I’m fine, but I thought Se-hee might be shy.”
Shy? She was also embarrassed, bashful, and ashamed. Unlike her disheveled self, Kang-joon was perfectly neat and composed. A few strands of hair falling across his forehead were the only sign of disarray. Nevertheless, Taeryeong quietly shook her head. She needed light to take in everything about this man and engrave it in her heart.
“Could you make it a little darker?”
Just enough light to conceal her shyness, but still allow her to see all of him. Kang-joon closed the window blinds and adjusted the light intensity appropriately. Then he stepped back a little from the bed and fixed his gaze on Taeryeong. He took off his jacket, then slowly unbuttoned his shirt one by one with his long, firm fingers. Taeryeong’s gaze followed his elegant movements, unhurried and calm. ...It was a good thing I didn’t turn off the light. Her husband’s body, built with natural physicality and consistent care, looked even better when unclothed. Even though she had seen his body every night, her heart pounded as if it would burst, and her vision heated up. She knew what that body would do. Kang-joon slowly approached and leaned over Taeryeong. A shadow fell over Taeryeong, who was half-lying on the bed, and a heavy weight settled upon her.
“If anything feels wrong, don’t just endure it, tell me.”
His low voice, whispering in her ear, was strangely calm.
“I’ll adjust to everything.”
Kang-joon kissed Taeryeong deeply as she nodded. He was completely different from the violent and rough husband of their first night. He was slow, gentle, and careful. That made her more impatient, and so Taeryeong became bolder. Her hands moved on their own, wanting to press close against Kang-joon and feel him entirely. Kang-joon let out a rough breath, lifted his head, and murmured, “This is going to be a problem.”
His chiseled face, dimly lit by the subtle light, was breathtakingly alluring. Ensnared by his intense charm, Taeryeong let out a hot breath and looked at Kang-joon. She liked this man’s eyes. His dark, deep, black eyes, his intelligent gaze that burned with heat yet radiated coolness simultaneously. Taeryeong asked with a smile in her voice, “You said you were curious what I saved your name as on my phone, right?”
Since that day, Kang-joon had asked her several times what she had saved his name as on her phone. She had always feigned ignorance, but now she felt she could tell him. Caressing Kang-joon’s face, Taeryeong softly mouthed,
“My sexy growler.”
Kang-joon’s eyes were momentarily blank. But soon, he let out a low laugh, as if pleased. I like this man, I like him so much I feel like I’m going crazy. Taeryeong cupped Kang-joon’s face, pulling him closer, met his eyes, and calmly said, “Don’t adjust to me, and don’t hold back.”
A blaze instantly ignited in her husband’s calm eyes. Seeing that gaze, she felt more desperate than afraid. She wished her whole body would burn in that blaze.
“I want my sexy growler to do that.”
Even if it hurts and is difficult, it’s fine. I want you to. So, hold me.
“...Because I love you.”
Confessing in a trembling voice, Taeryeong gently caressed Kang-joon’s lips. This is driving me crazy. Kang-joon murmured softly and leaned his body into hers. A colossal wave endlessly crashed down, pulling Taeryeong endlessly towards an unseen peak. Her blurred vision swayed, and clear tears welled up in her closed eyes.
“Joo Se-hee, look at me.”
Taeryeong shook her head at the gentle voice seeping into her ear. What right do I have to look at you? I deceived you from the beginning, I wasn’t honest to the end, and now I’m leaving.
“Joo Se-hee.”
“...”
“Se-hee.”
The voice, calling her endlessly as if coaxing, finally captured Taeryeong’s gaze. His hot eyes, visible beneath her sweat-drenched eyelids, were persistent. As if in this moment, it has to be me, and he can’t live without me. With eyes like a blazing fire, this time Kang-joon whispered his love.
“I love you, Joo Se-hee.”
Instead of answering, Taeryeong sought Kang-joon’s lips. Right now, it must be love, hot and deep. But after this moment, it would be an emotion that would slowly fade with the passage of time. Burning intensely for a moment, then fading, and forgotten. All men’s love was like that, and men from chaebol families even more so. The love she had witnessed so far was like that. Like her husband, who had burned so quickly and was still burning intensely. A drop of sweat running down Kang-joon’s face dripped onto Taeryeong’s lips. At that moment, fireworks exploded before her eyes, and Taeryeong instinctively dug in her nails. Long, red, deep marks were etched into his broad back. Kang-joon held her tightly, as if to crush her body, which collapsed limply onto the sheets. She felt his gentle lips softly caressing her closed eyes. The small kisses raining down on her face deepened again. Kang-joon slowly enveloped her like a tide, swallowing Taeryeong once more. The second night, ecstatic for some and sorrowful for others, was passing by.

Early in the morning, Kang-joon woke up feeling refreshed. But looking at his wife, who was asleep in his arms as if she had fainted, he couldn’t help but feel a bit sorry. Every time he held her, she quietly nestled in, so he kept holding her. He thought they both enjoyed it and both wanted it. If he had retained even a shred of reason, he would have noticed long ago. That his wife’s stamina had reached its limit. He might have stopped before she lost consciousness as if fainting. But Kang-joon was in a state of ecstasy last night, unable to notice such things. The consequences were dire. He recalled his wife’s last whispered words before falling into a deep sleep:
‘Kang-joon, you need to exercise moderately. Tomorrow, for one day... no skinship.’
From the moment he woke up this morning, Kang-joon was sulking at the sudden skinship ban. There was an unfair aspect to it as well. Who was it that drove him to that state of ecstasy? And...
“My sexy growler, huh?”
The nickname his small mind came up with was cunning. But then again, he liked it. A gentle smile spread across Kang-joon’s lips. He remembered his wife, who was modest yet surprisingly bold. Joo Se-hee, hidden beneath her neat and cool facade, was a fiery woman. Her ability to hold both coldness and heat simultaneously amazed him. This is why I’m going crazy. And that’s why he was anxious. The anxiety, like a canker sore, still lingered in Kang-joon’s heart. Of course, he knew. All of this was his own problem. Stroking his sleeping wife’s long eyelashes with his fingertips, Kang-joon murmured,
“Joo Se-hee, I love you too much, that’s the problem.”

Taeryeong finally opened her eyes past noon. Kang-joon bathed Taeryeong, who was half out of it, helped her dress, gently carried her, and even put her in the car. Today’s plan was “car camping.” He said emotional camping was popular these days and suggested they try it. Like an ordinary couple, like husband and wife. They arrived at a forest where clear stream water flowed beneath their feet and lush trees cast shadows above. Taeryeong looked at the equipment loaded in the back of the car and asked,
“You didn’t buy all of this, did you?”
“Camping is all about the gear.”
Taeryeong laughed at Kang-joon’s confident remark. When had he ever done something like this?
“You said you were busy, so when did you get all of this ready?”
“Do you think I did it myself?”
Of course not, Taeryeong answered softly, and Kang-joon chuckled, then took out a folding table and chairs. He set up light food on the table and had Taeryeong sit in a chair.
“I’ll take care of everything, so don’t lift a finger, wife.”
Taeryeong almost asked why he kept calling her “wife” instead of her name, but she stopped herself. The word “wife,” spoken by Kang-joon, somehow felt like a tender endearment. Besides, due to the lingering effects of last night, she truly didn’t have the strength to lift a finger. Thinking she needed to eat first to replenish her energy, she popped a cherry tomato into her mouth and watched Kang-joon. Unlike herself, who was still out of it, Kang-joon seemed even more energetic than yesterday. Should she say he was dazzling and vibrant? It was almost enough to make her suspect that he had sucked all her energy last night. Why is it always me...? Just as she glared, feeling a little wronged, her eyes met Kang-joon’s. Unaware of Taeryeong’s feelings, he gave a fresh and charming smile. Taeryeong quietly watched Kang-joon move diligently again, then suddenly felt something was odd. His movements were neat and gracefully concise, but there was no visible progress. Only flashy equipment was spread out on the ground. Unable to watch anymore, Taeryeong carefully asked,
“Kang-joon, what are you trying to do right now?”
“I’m trying to set up the sunshade.”
“And?”
“Something’s not right.”
His expression was quite serious.
“Then look at the instructions.”
“I threw them away.”
Taeryeong was a little dumbfounded by his confident reply.
“Why did you throw them away?”
“Because I don’t need such things.”
“...”
“But come to think of it, there’s no need to set up the sunshade. Let’s skip this.”
Kang-joon looked up at the sky as if he had found the answer. Thanks to choosing a good location, the intense afternoon sun could not penetrate the dense trees. The entire wide space was shaded and cool.
“I’ll make you a delicious lunch.”
This time, Kang-joon touched the folding fire pit.
“Do you know how to do it?”
“I’ll know once I try.”
His movements were still uninhibited, but clearly fumbling. Taeryeong cautiously asked again,
“The instructions?”
Kang-joon lifted his head, looked at Taeryeong, and answered confidently,
“I threw them away.”
“Why on earth do you throw away the instructions?”
Why would he throw away the instructions, which were a guide for beginners?
“Because looking at instructions is abandoning a man’s pride.”
Taeryeong felt like she was looking at a handsome but clueless man right now. She should have noticed it when he said that when catching bugs, a man’s best weapon was his fist. But she didn’t dislike such a husband. On the contrary, the human side of this perfect man felt endearing. Slowly standing up, Taeryeong murmured softly,
“Perhaps I shouldn’t have come on this trip.”
She had come on this trip to clear her mind, but she was increasingly losing confidence. Yesterday and today, new environments and places. Thanks to them, she learned so much about her husband that she hadn’t known. She hated that. The more she learned, the more she didn’t want to leave, and the more she became greedy. Could she truly leave her husband, who was perfect, cute, and utterly charming?
