Psst! We're moving!
When Tang Yin exited the airport, she encountered that girl again.
Logically, she didn’t know her, but the girl kept staring at her. Even when Tang Yin noticed and caught her gaze, the girl quickly turned her head—her actions were quite strange.
Lu Chi, standing behind her, saw her stop and asked, “What’s wrong?”
Tang Yin tilted her head toward the girl. “That girl was on the same flight as us. She seemed to be watching us earlier.”
Upon hearing this, Lu Chi glanced over. The girl had already turned her back to them.
“Forget it. Let’s go to school first,” Tang Yin said, pulling her suitcase. “It’s still a bit hot outside.”
Lu Chi softly agreed.
The girl had already gotten into a car, and they quickly followed suit, boarding a taxi and heading straight for S University without further delay.
What they didn’t expect, however, was that the girl was on the same route as them and got out of her car just ahead of them.
S University’s new campus was located in the city center, bustling with activity. Compared to their hometown, it was clearly different, though aside from the variety of shops, there wasn’t much else remarkable.
The taxi stopped right at the school gate. The driver refused to go any further, saying, “Do you see how many people are inside? If I go in, I don’t know when I’ll be able to get out.”
Lu Chi didn’t insist, and both he and Tang Yin got out of the car.
Fortunately, the weather suddenly turned cloudy, making it much more comfortable without the direct heat of the sun.
The girl stopped near the security office.
Watching the crowd come and go, she made a phone call to her roommate: “I’m at the school gate.”
“Zhang Yuan, hurry up and check in! There are so many cute freshmen this year. Don’t waste time, or you’ll stay single forever!”
The girl, Zhang Yuan, couldn’t help but laugh. “You won’t believe who I ran into! Wait till I post on the forum later—be sure to upvote my post!”
The university had its own forum where students chatted, shared experiences, and answered questions from new students.
“I’m helping a freshman check in right now—I don’t have time to upvote!”
After a long-winded conversation, Zhang Yuan hung up. Seeing the two familiar figures enter the campus, she quickly snapped a photo.
Admiring the picture on her phone, she smiled to herself.
She had seen these two on Weibo during the summer—a handsome couple with excellent grades. At the time, she wondered if they might become her schoolmates. Now, it had come true.
She quickly logged onto the forum, edited her post, and hit send.
S University, with its long history, exuded the air of a prestigious institution both inside and out. Today was registration day, and like them, many new students were arriving, some even by private cars.
At the school gate, senior volunteers handed out free maps to students. Tang Yin took one since she and Lu Chi were together.
The two walked side by side down the avenue lined with sycamore trees. The shade blocked the re-emerging sunlight, and a gentle breeze blew past.
Tang Yin remarked, “It looks pretty nice.”
She tilted her head to look at Lu Chi. “In the future, you’ll be Dr. Lu, wearing a white coat, all serious and proper.”
Just imagining it made her feel like her nose might bleed.
Seeing her excitement, Lu Chi’s eyes sparkled with amusement, though he didn’t say anything to burst her bubble.
After a moment, he pointed to a building. “The Medical School.”
Tang Yin immediately shifted her gaze.
The building was grand and had a distinct architectural style. Its signage clearly marked its identity.
Freshmen registration was taking place in the cafeteria, which had enough tables and chairs to accommodate everyone.
As soon as Tang Yin and Lu Chi entered the cafeteria, they were met with a sea of people—new students and parents alike. The air conditioning struggled to keep up.
The map indicated where each school’s registration point was located. The Medical School and Foreign Languages School were at opposite ends.
Without a word, Lu Chi gently circled Tang Yin’s wrist and led her forward.
With him blocking the way, Tang Yin walked comfortably behind him, avoiding the pushing crowd.
Soon, they arrived at the Foreign Languages School registration point.
Lu Chi stopped. “We’re here.”
The cafeteria was noisy, and Tang Yin hadn’t heard him clearly. She shouted, “What did you say?”
Lu Chi gave her an exasperated look and leaned close to her ear because of the noise. “Your registration point. We’re here.”
He was tall, and Tang Yin, walking behind him, barely needed to look at the path ahead. Since Lu Chi had been practicing diligently over the summer, she rarely heard him stutter anymore, which was a relief.
Peering over his shoulder, Tang Yin spotted a sign that read “Foreign Languages School.” Two seniors stood nearby, along with a few female volunteers.
She tiptoed and asked, “Do you want to register first?”
Lu Chi shook his head almost instinctively.
He stepped aside, and Tang Yin slipped past him, whispering, “Wait for me. I’ll be back soon.”
Lu Chi nodded and hummed in acknowledgment.
The Foreign Languages School mostly admitted female students, with very few males. This year, there were only about a hundred male students, averaging four or five per class.
Several freshmen gathered around the female volunteers while the two male seniors absentmindedly browsed the forum for updates.
Unexpectedly, they stumbled upon a new trending post—about their school.
Hot Post: High-achieving, good-looking students from Weibo’s summer热搜 have enrolled in our school!
Original Poster: I ran into them on the plane today! I couldn’t resist sneaking peeks—it was love at first sight. But that didn’t stop me from being mesmerized. The girl even stole a kiss from the guy! My face turned red. Our school’s attractiveness level is about to skyrocket! Hahaha. (Attached: photo)
Although the seniors had graduated years ago, they still kept tabs on college entrance exam news, especially top scorers from various provinces, as many of them likely applied to S University.
The couple from their province had quietly gained fame. They had seen the pictures on Weibo and learned about their exploits from comments below.
Including kissing in front of the entire school and confessing to each other during the flag-raising ceremony.
It was shocking, making them reflect on how pitiful their own high school days had been.
Of course, what caught their attention most were their test scores—especially Lu Chi’s outstanding performance. Though they didn’t know much about his other qualities, they assumed he was exceptional.
The list of admitted students was already in the hands of the volunteers, including Tang Yin’s name.
The seniors scrolled down, finding replies buried under the post.
1st Floor: Which province?
2nd Floor: [Province]. They trended on热搜 recently. Both chose our school. Definitely a couple.
3rd Floor: Damn, all the good ones are taken in high school. As upperclassmen, can we even find anyone?
4th Floor: Are they really a couple or just pretending? The finger-holding in the Weibo photo seems real. Is there no hope for us? So sad.
466th Floor: I just saw the two of them holding hands in the cafeteria. So sweet! Don’t disturb my fantasies—the girl is gorgeous, especially when she smiles!
The last reply was from the 466th floor. The two seniors suddenly looked up.
If they were in the cafeteria, that meant they would arrive soon. Whether they were truly a couple remained to be seen.
“Excuse me, is this where Business English majors register?”
A crisp, pleasant voice instantly drew the seniors’ attention back. They eagerly looked at the girl in front of them.
It was the girl from the post! In person, she looked even better than in the photos!
The two seniors quickly snapped out of it and handed her the registration form. “Yes, yes, foreign language majors register here. Just fill it out and hand it back to us.”
Tang Yin’s luggage was with Lu Chi, so she easily completed the form and handed it over. “Thank you, seniors.”
Though there were more female students in the Foreign Languages School, these two seniors were still single, which was why they volunteered—to meet younger students.
Tang Yin, raised in the south, had delicate features, fair skin, and an overall fragile appearance.
The seniors’ eyes lit up. “No need to thank us. Do you have a lot of luggage? Do you need help? We can enter the dorms.”
Tang Yin’s eyes twinkled knowingly, and she smiled brightly. “No need. My boyfriend is waiting over there.”
She pointed a few meters away.
The two seniors looked over to see a tall, elegant young man standing there, exuding an entirely different aura. He was staring intently at them with sharp eyes.
Perhaps he was unhappy seeing them flirt with his girlfriend.
Realizing she was taken, the seniors didn’t persist. “Alright, be careful not to get lost, junior.”
Tang Yin collected her things and thanked them.
Before she could turn to leave, her wrist was grabbed.
Lu Chi’s brows furrowed slightly, though his expression toward Tang Yin remained unchanged. His voice was soft. “Are you done?”
Tang Yin nodded. “Yes, let’s go.”
The two seniors watched them leave, catching a glance from the younger student as they disappeared. It was clear—he wanted to glare daggers at them.
They silently logged onto the forum and each replied to the thread.
678th Floor: Ahem, I just helped a junior register. Her boyfriend is so intimidating—he glared at us for flirting with her!
679th Floor: Not just glaring—he’s silently plotting revenge. If they weren’t in different schools, I’d suspect him of coming to kill us at night. Better not get any ideas.
It’s safer to just enjoy the drama.
The Medical School registration point was at the far end of the cafeteria, near another rear entrance. Fewer students went that way, so the path was much less crowded.
Tang Yin noticed Lu Chi’s mood.
Once they left the registration area, Lu Chi had remained silent, completely unlike his usual self. Clearly, something had upset him.
She leaned closer and asked, “Are you jealous again?”
Whenever he was unhappy, it was usually because he was jealous. Tang Yin knew him well.
Lu Chi lowered his head slightly to look at her, pursing his lips. After a long pause, he said, “Uncomfortable.”
Seeing her smile at others made him uncomfortable.
Tang Yin hooked her pinky finger around his. “You can’t be impolite during registration. You’re such a jar of vinegar—put the lid back on.”
Lu Chi remained silent.
