Psst! We're moving!
Su Hui heard the noise and instinctively turned her head.
Seeing Su Cheng standing at the door, her mind went blank for a moment. Before she could process what was happening, she quickly ducked into the bathtub and slammed the frosted glass door shut.
Her face flushed red as she caught her breath. The bottle of body lotion was knocked over from the edge of the bathtub, falling to the floor with a thud.
Fuming, Su Hui shouted, “Su Cheng, you damn pervert! Don’t you know how to knock before entering?”
Through the frosted glass door, the silhouette of her crouched figure in the bathtub was faintly visible.
Su Cheng’s Adam’s apple bobbed as he said hoarsely, “I didn’t know you were inside.”
His throat felt dry, and after taking a deep breath, he closed the door behind him.
Through the door, he explained, “It wasn’t intentional.”
Inside the bathroom, Su Hui was seething with anger. Fortunately, she had wrapped herself in a towel today. Usually, when alone in her dorm, she wouldn’t bother wearing anything. If she hadn’t worn the towel today, it would’ve been a disaster.
This was the first time something like this had happened to her. Even back in high school, she had her own private bathroom in her room, so nothing like this ever occurred.
Who would’ve thought that just one week after moving out on her own, such an embarrassing situation would arise? She had no idea how to react when she eventually stepped out.
Su Hui slapped her cheeks lightly, trying to calm herself down.
She reasoned that since he probably hadn’t seen anything, she could pretend she was wearing a strapless dress or something—it shouldn’t be a big deal.
But no matter how much mental preparation she tried, all she wanted to do was scream.
Covering her mouth, she silently screamed for several seconds, wondering what to do. This was too awkward to discuss with anyone else, leaving her alone in the bathtub, helplessly lost in thought.
It was truly mortifying.
Meanwhile, outside, Su Cheng placed his suitcase in his room and began unpacking without a word. After organizing everything, he sat down on the bed.
He ran his fingers through his hair.
Something inside him had stirred, but it couldn’t be noticed by anyone.
Thinking about it made the earlier image replay in his mind. Although he had seen Su Hui in bolder outfits before, his imagination still ran wild.
He cleared his throat a few times and decided to lie down, closing his eyes.
After some time, Su Cheng realized he hadn’t heard the bathroom door open. He got up, checked, and confirmed that Su Hui hadn’t come out yet.
He knocked on the door. “Aren’t you coming out?”
An energetic voice responded from inside: “…Go back to your room. Whether I come out or not is none of your business.”
Su Cheng: “….”
He withdrew his hand, feeling helpless. “Alright then.”
Returning to his room, Su Cheng closed the door—this time leaving it slightly ajar. After enduring her earlier scolding, his initial excitement had subsided. He decided to turn on his computer.
Just as the screen lit up, the sound of the bathroom door opening came from outside.
He glanced toward the gap in the door and caught a fleeting glimpse of a pale figure disappearing into the living room. A loud bang followed as the adjacent bedroom door slammed shut.
Su Cheng tapped his keyboard, feeling irritated.
Su Hui had locked her bedroom door this time and quickly changed into full coverage clothing, finally feeling secure.
Despite it being summer, she wore autumn pajamas.
The embarrassment of the situation gnawed at her, so she decided to distract herself by watching a foreign horror movie.
Half an hour later, she was curled under the blanket, tears welling up but refusing to fall.
After turning off the tablet, the rustling sounds from outside became more noticeable. Su Hui called out, “Su Cheng, what are you doing now?”
After a brief pause, Su Cheng’s voice came from outside: “I’m hungry. I made a late-night snack. Do you want some?”
Instinctively, Su Hui licked her lips—the temptation was too great.
She knew Su Cheng’s cooking skills. Back in high school during vacations, he often cooked for himself. Every time, she’d claim she wasn’t hungry, only to end up eating and regretting her words later.
This cycle had repeated itself for two or three years, and she had grown accustomed to it.
Pushing aside her useless thoughts, Su Hui jumped off the bed, opened the door, and exclaimed, “Yes! I’ll eat!”
As soon as she opened the door, the aroma hit her nose.
Su Cheng handed her a bowl of noodles.
Without hesitation, Su Hui took it.
It looked like an ordinary bowl of noodles, but the taste was exquisite once it hit her palate. That was why she kept giving in every time.
Watching her thick pajamas, Su Cheng raised an eyebrow. “Aren’t you hot dressed like that?”
Su Hui eyed him warily. “No.”
Su Cheng: “…Alright then.”
Clearly, she was treating him like a wolf to be wary of. He wasn’t sure whether to feel amused or exasperated.
On the bright side, at least she was acknowledging him as a man, which showed some progress.
As Su Cheng watched her focus intently on slurping her noodles, a small smile tugged at the corners of his lips, and his mood lifted slightly.

The next day was Saturday, and there were no classes at school.
Early in the morning, Su Hui’s father called: “There’s a party tonight. Come home early, and make sure you look presentable.”
Still struggling in bed, Su Hui groaned, “What party? I’m not going.”
“If you don’t go, you won’t get any pocket money this month,” her father said, hitting her weak spot directly. “Tell Su Cheng. You two should come back together—don’t forget to let him know.”
Su Hui replied reluctantly, “Okay, okay.”
She dragged herself out of bed. Initially planning to wear a tank top dress, she suddenly changed her mind and opted for a two-piece outfit instead.
Staring at her reflection in the mirror, Su Hui sighed deeply.
When she emerged, Su Cheng had already prepared breakfast. Her grievances melted away at the sight of food, and she enjoyed the meal thoroughly.
Though called a “party,” it was essentially a gathering of business partners, along with some minor celebrities, influencers, and young men.
There was also an underlying intention to introduce the younger generation to one another.
The two arrived together. Not long after stepping inside, Su Cheng was called away by Ms. Zhang.
Ms. Zhang, his mother, was a successful woman who had founded her own company, ensuring her cheating ex-husband received little of her wealth.
The room was empty, and the relationship between Su Cheng and Ms. Zhang had always been one of question-and-answer. While there was no conflict, they weren’t particularly close either.
He had spent most of his childhood alone, either by himself or with a nanny, learning independence early on.
Ms. Zhang asked, “How have things been recently?”
Sitting across from her, Su Cheng replied, “If you’re referring to academics, nothing unusual. Life is fine too. Everything’s normal.”
“Did you and Hui Hui have a fight?” Ms. Zhang probed. “I noticed you two seem rather distant tonight.”
Su Cheng calmly responded, “I accidentally upset her.”
