Psst! We're moving!
The wind by the lake was strong, and Yu Qing’s long hair was blown into disarray, with a few strands brushing against her face.
Neither she nor Fu Jichen paid any attention to it.
They remained in the same position as before—hands overlapping, feeling the fetal movements. Her other hand rested on Fu Jichen’s pulse, sensing his heartbeat.
There had been many moments of shared emotions between them, but at this moment, their lives felt truly intertwined.
Little Fish seemed to have tired itself out, gradually calming down.
Fu Jichen tucked Yu Qing’s stray strands of hair behind her ear, then crouched slightly and placed a gentle kiss on her belly. “Mommy and Daddy are here with you. Goodnight.”
Yu Qing asked him, “Do you still want to continue the diagnosis?”
“No need. I suddenly remembered that doctors can’t heal themselves.” Fu Jichen withdrew his hand, rolled down his sleeves, and proceeded to take her pulse. “I’ll examine you instead.”
Yu Qing smiled. “So, what’s my problem?”
Fu Jichen: “You’re lacking love. What I’ve given you isn’t enough.”

The next afternoon, the alarm rang precisely at 1:10 PM.
Fu Jichen turned off his phone, paused for half a minute, and got up.
Having risen at 5:00 AM, he always took an hour-long nap unless there were special circumstances.
After a cold shower, he was fully awake.
He had meetings in the afternoon, so he changed into a white shirt.
At 1:30 PM, Fu Jichen unlocked the office door.
The administrative secretary had already brewed coffee and delivered it right on time.
Ten minutes later, Qiao Yang was scheduled to report. In the meantime, Fu Jichen called Yu Qing to check if she had woken from her nap. He sent a message first: [Lawyer Yu.]
Yu Qing called back immediately. “Boss Fu, why are you teasing me?”
Fu Jichen chuckled. “…That’s putting words in my mouth.” He asked, “Are you awake?”
“Yes.” Yu Qing was already sitting in front of her computer. “I just dreamed about you.”
“What was I doing in your dream?”
“It was raining heavily, and the roads were flooded. You walked away alone, leaving me behind.”
“When has it ever rained heavily without me holding you?”
“In the dream.”
“Hmm, my mistake. But it won’t happen in reality. I’ll make it up to you when I get home tonight.” He then asked how her appetite was during lunch today.
Yu Qing: “For Little Fish’s sake, I tried not to be picky. I drank three glasses of water, and I missed you too.”
“Though the last four words sounded a bit insincere, saying them is better than not saying anything at all.”
“I really missed you.”
Fu Jichen requested, “Then call me next time on your own initiative. That way, I’ll know your longing is strong and not just vague.”
Yu Qing laughed. “Alright.”
A knock on the door sounded. Fu Jichen said to her, “I’m busy now,” and ended the call.
“Come in.”
Qiao Yang entered and closed the door behind her. She handed over the analysis report to Fu Jichen. Last night, she had received a call from him to draft an investment plan for SZ and prepare a report.
She had worked overtime until midnight and arrived at the company at 6:00 AM. She kept working until after noon, skipping her nap to review the report again, ensuring no basic errors slipped through.
She didn’t know why Fu Jichen suddenly became interested in the catering industry. “I’ve checked. SZ has another cloud roadshow coming up, and I’ll attend to see their valuation analysis.”
Fu Jichen nodded. “Jian Hang will be here shortly to discuss the SZ investment. Join us.”
“Oh, alright.” Qiao Yang understood. So, Jian Hang was interested, and Fu Jichen was following suit.
Jian Hang arrived a few minutes earlier than scheduled. Qiao Yang wasn’t meeting her for the first time—they had met before during a new investment project.
Today, Jian Hang’s attire was simple as usual—a fitted white shirt, black high-waisted pants, and only a wristwatch, no jewelry.
Efficient yet elegant.
The secretary brought in coffee and closed the door.
After a brief exchange, they got straight to the point.
The discussion mainly revolved around the future layout of the new smart parking system. Jian Hang had already outlined her ideas in writing and printed several copies before arriving. She handed one to Fu Jichen and another to Qiao Yang.
After reading the first page, Qiao Yang couldn’t help but glance at Fu Jichen. She knew his thought process—they had discussed it during internal meetings.
And Jian Hang’s ideas aligned perfectly with his.
This was a good sign. After all, shareholders reaching a consensus would facilitate the smooth implementation of the plan.
Fu Jichen finished reading. “Not bad.”
Qiao Yang was used to Fu Jichen’s stinginess with praise. She discreetly observed Jian Hang’s expression—it was as she expected.
Clearly, Jian Hang, who came prepared and was always confident, hadn’t anticipated such a lukewarm response from Fu Jichen.
Qiao Yang shifted her gaze back to her materials and refrained from commenting.
Jian Hang waited for a moment, but Fu Jichen didn’t elaborate further.
There were still many issues to discuss today, and she didn’t have time to dwell on whether her suggestion would be adopted. She would raise it again at the upcoming senior management meeting.
She allocated only an hour to discuss issues related to the new investment.
Regarding SZ, Jian Hang’s team had prepared their own valuation and investment value analysis report. While Fu Jichen reviewed the new investment materials, she handed a copy directly to Qiao Yang.
“The SZ management team is excellent. If funding keeps up, going public within two to three years won’t be a problem.”
Fu Jichen set aside the new investment materials. “What do you know about Siyuan Holdings’ interest in SZ?”
Jian Hang nodded. “I’m aware. Zhou Siyuan’s goal is to take over SZ’s management rights, but after a complete overhaul of the team, SZ might not achieve the same results as before.”
Half an hour always passed in the blink of an eye. Before they knew it, it was 4:00 PM.
Fu Jichen: “Whether Fu Group ultimately invests in SZ will be decided after our internal meeting. Secretary Pan will contact you.”
“Alright.” Jian Hang stood up and didn’t waste another minute.
Qiao Yang escorted Jian Hang downstairs on behalf of Fu Jichen.
Secretary Pan entered. Next Wednesday, the new smart parking system would officially launch in a city in Jiangnan. Local officials invited Fu Jichen and senior executives from the new investment to attend the ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Both Qiao Han and Jian Hang would attend.
The new investment planned to promote this model in other cities.
Fu Jichen asked, “How many days?”
Secretary Pan: “Two days.”
Fu Jichen considered for a moment. “I’ll take three extra days off. I’ll bring Yu Qing along. Our flight will depart one leg earlier than yours, and we’ll stay at a different hotel.”
Secretary Pan noted everything down. “Alright. Is there anything else that needs to be arranged in advance?”
Fu Jichen: “Nothing else. Arrange a car for her when we arrive. When I’m working, she can go explore on her own.”
He had promised her that when summer came, he’d take her traveling.
Many cities in Jiangnan were scenic, so he’d take her on a short trip.
While they were at it, he’d also take her to Shanghai. She must miss it.
She was in her pregnancy and prone to jealousy. If she found out there were other women among the group, she’d likely feel insecure.
Today, she dreamed that he left her behind in the rain, probably because she lacked a sense of security. He didn’t know why she had such a dream, but perhaps it was because she read Aunt Li’s diary.
When Aunt Li was five months pregnant with her, her relationship with Chairman Yu had grown distant.

Today, Yu Qing didn’t work overtime and didn’t ask Yu Jingze to pick her up, giving him a day off.
She met Yu Fei at SZ, arriving at the restaurant just as it got dark.
Upon meeting, Yu Fei apologized, “I have to leave after eating. I have a client appointment at 8:30 PM. I can’t accompany you to enjoy the night view. Let’s make up for it next time.”
Yu Qing smiled. “Are you treating me like a man and trying to console me like a girlfriend? It’s fine. I just wanted to ask you if you’ve interacted with Jian Hang before and what her working style is like.”
The information she gathered from others was unreliable.
Yu Fei hadn’t directly dealt with Jian Hang but had collaborated with her subordinates. “She’s a highly capable and beautiful woman. I heard that men who’ve worked with her rarely fail to be captivated.”
She asked, “Why are you suddenly asking about Jian Hang?”
Yu Qing: “Jian Hang is also interested in SZ.”
Yu Fei nodded and objectively evaluated, “If Jian Hang invests in SZ, it will have more development potential than under Zhou Siyuan’s control.”
Yu Qing: “That’s good enough.”
She added, “Jian Hang is looking for Fu Jichen to follow up with an investment.”
Yu Fei paused briefly and clinked glasses with her. “Don’t worry. You should trust Fu Jichen.”
Yu Qing laughed. “I’m not worried.”
Her phone vibrated—it was a message from Fu Jichen: [Next Wednesday, I’ll be on a business trip. After finishing the business, I’ll take you on a trip. Arrange your work to be done by Wednesday, and we’ll play for a few days.]
Yu Qing: [Why the sudden idea to take me traveling?]
Fu Jichen: [Summer rains often. If I’m not in Beijing and it pours, you’ll say I abandoned you. I won’t let what happened in your dream become reality.]
Yu Qing: [Thank you, my Boss Fu. I look forward to traveling with you.]
She actually missed him a little now. [Are you at the company?]
Fu Jichen: [I’m home.]
Yu Qing: [Then come pick me up. I’m having dinner with Yu Fei at SZ, and we’ll finish around 8:00 PM.]
Fu Jichen: [Didn’t Yu Jingze accompany you?]
Yu Qing: [No, he’s probably gone to find his girlfriend.]

Tonight, Yu Jingze had a date with Zou Lexiao. Traffic delayed him by half an hour, and by the time he reached the restaurant, Zou Lexiao was already there.
“Sorry to keep you waiting.”
He sat down across from Zou Lexiao.
Zou Lexiao tried hard to control her racing heart, attempting to compose herself.
She poured him a glass of warm water. “I just arrived too.”
In truth, she had specially requested to leave work early from Yu Fei to arrive an hour ahead of schedule, fearing traffic delays.
She anticipated he might tease her, calling her a spoiled young lady playing hard to get.
She had been thrilled all day after receiving his call in the morning, asking if she was free tonight.
She knew why he was meeting her. Though a little sad, she still wanted to see him.
He was acting as a mediator for Zhou Siyuan, while she agreed because she missed him.
Thus, this dinner was arranged.
She had dressed up carefully today, even changing into a skirt at noon.
But he probably didn’t notice. From the moment he sat down, his gaze hadn’t lingered on her.
Zou Lexiao didn’t want to make him uncomfortable, so she spoke first. “The equity of SZ isn’t necessarily non-transferable, though I have no intention of transferring it.”
Yu Jingze: “Whether you transfer it or not is entirely up to you. My meeting with you has nothing to do with that.”
Zou Lexiao was surprised. “Then what is it?”
Yu Jingze stopped beating around the bush. “Didn’t you once boast that you’d chase me down and then kick me to the curb?”
Zou Lexiao: “….”
Chasing him was real, but kicking him to the curb was just a way to save face.
Yu Jingze looked at her. “Right now, I’m being driven crazy by Yu Qing and Zhou Siyuan. Yu Qing said that unless I find a girlfriend, she’ll leave me alone. And you…”
Zou Lexiao: “I’m willing to be your girlfriend.”
Yu Jingze: “…Let me finish what I was saying.”
Zou Lexiao made a gesture to stop him. “Pretend I’m your girlfriend? I’m happy to oblige.”
