Psst! We're moving!
The next morning, Sheng Chun woke up with a pounding headache.
She clutched her forehead and slowly opened her eyes. Seeing the chandelier overhead, she knew deep down that she was at Pei Yan’s place.
Sheng Chun subconsciously reached out to the spot beside her; it was cold, no warmth, he had already gotten up.
She lowered her eyes, pouted, struggled to sit up, and then got out of bed.
The moment her foot touched the ground, Sheng Chun grimaced in pain.
She uncontrollably fell back onto the bed. It hurt so much. Had Pei Yan severely abused her last night while she was drunk?
Just as Sheng Chun was lost in wild thoughts, the bedroom door opened.
Pei Yan walked in from outside and saw her with half her body sprawled on the bed. He paused, lowered his gaze to look at her, “What are you doing?”
Hearing the voice, Sheng Chun looked up at him.
She was stunned for a moment, then blinked and asked, “What day is today?”
If she remembered correctly, it was a weekday, wasn’t it? Why was Pei Yan at home?
Pei Yan didn’t answer her. He walked around to her side, looked down at her foot, which was even more swollen than last night, and frowned deeply.
Following his gaze, Sheng Chun cursed, “Why is my foot like this?”
Hearing this, Pei Yan looked at her with a hint of a smile.
Meeting the smile in his eyes, Sheng Chun had an ominous feeling. Had she done something embarrassing last night?
Suddenly, memories flooded back.
Sheng Chun froze on the spot.
She remembered asking him to kiss the top of her foot, and that wasn’t enough. When Pei Yan was applying medicine, she even said he should kiss her mouth too.
But when Pei Yan leaned in to kiss her, she actually nitpicked, saying that he had just kissed her foot, his mouth was dirty, and he had to brush his teeth before he could kiss her mouth.
Pei Yan held the back of her neck and completely ignored her.
If he ignored her, Sheng Chun would make a fuss.
Finally, he was at his wit’s end with her, and he pulled her into his arms. Under Sheng Chun’s hazy gaze, he buried his face and sucked marks onto her collarbone, then moved lower.
She was wearing a white, off-the-shoulder dress that night. With the neckline pulled down, everything was exposed.
Pei Yan buried his face, kissing, sucking, and holding her perky assets.
Sheng Chun moaned, unable to bear it, her hands tightly gripping his clothes.
Her eyelashes trembled lightly, subconsciously wanting more, wanting to cling to the person in front of her.
After a while.
Just as Sheng Chun thought Pei Yan was going to do something inhuman, he suddenly looked up and asked her, “Can I kiss you now?”
Before Sheng Chun could react, he blocked her constant whimpering mouth.
...
Later, Sheng Chun seemed to have been carried upstairs by him and tossed into the bathroom.
After showering, she lost consciousness.
“Remembered now?”
Pei Yan observed her expression, confirming.
Sheng Chun’s cheeks were flushed crimson, her ears also impossibly red. She buried her face, simply sprawling on the bed, “I don’t want to live anymore.”
Why would she do such an embarrassing thing?!
Pei Yan saw her like this, and a smile played on his lips where she couldn’t see, “Not hungry?”
“...Hungry.”
Sheng Chun looked up, “Did you come up to tell me to go down for breakfast?”
Pei Yan didn’t answer. He lowered his gaze to her foot, “Can you walk?”
“No.”
Sheng Chun became resigned, “You carry me into the bathroom.”
Pei Yan glanced at her, “Do I also have to brush your teeth and wash your face for you?”
Sheng Chun’s eyes lit up, “If you’re willing, I’m okay with it.”
Pei Yan: “...”
He carried her into the bathroom, and indeed, he casually squeezed toothpaste onto a brush for her, then handed her the toothbrush.
“Sit there.”
There was a chair in the bathroom.
Sheng Chun said “Oh,” “But where do I spit the water?”
Pei Yan had no choice but to get another cup for her to rinse with.
Sheng Chun was satisfied.
Coming out of the bathroom, she was again carried downstairs by Pei Yan.
The auntie looked at her, “How did you twist it so badly?”
Before Sheng Chun could speak, Pei Yan said, “Eat quickly, I’m taking you to the hospital to get it checked.”
“No, no, no!”
Sheng Chun touched the tip of her nose, protesting, “How embarrassing would that be if it got out? A female celebrity who wears high heels all the time sprained her ankle because of high heels. I’m not going.”
“Do you want it to stay swollen?”
Sheng Chun choked, really wanting to shut Pei Yan’s insensitive mouth.
She looked down at her ‘pig’s trotters’, “I’ll rest at home today, just apply medicine. If it’s not better by night, can I go to the hospital then?”
Pei Yan saw her insistence and no longer forced her, “As you wish.”
Sheng Chun: “...”
After breakfast, Pei Yan went to the office.
Sheng Chun subconsciously glanced at the clock on the wall; it was 9:30.
Normally, Pei Yan would go to the office by 8 AM at the latest. Today, he was an hour and a half late.
As soon as Pei Yan left, Sheng Chun subconsciously asked, “Auntie, does Pei Yan have something on today?”
The auntie was surprised, “Not that I know of.”
Sheng Chun nodded, “Then why did he go to the office so late today?”
The auntie chuckled, looking at her, “Waiting for you to wake up.”
Sheng Chun was stunned.
The auntie saw her expression and said with a smile, “Young master got up at a little past six. He said you twisted your foot and he wanted to wait for you to wake up to take you to the hospital. He told me to wait for you to wake up before making breakfast.”
Otherwise, breakfast wouldn’t have been eaten so late.
Sheng Chun was dumbfounded.
She froze for a moment, then remained silent for a long while before responding, whispering, “Is that so?”
The auntie smiled, “Chun Chun, Auntie will put medicine on you.”
Sheng Chun subconsciously tried to dodge, but the auntie said, “Young master instructed me to.”
The reason Pei Yan left without putting medicine on her was because Sheng Chun was too troublesome; she would cry and scream in pain every time he touched her, and Pei Yan simply couldn’t use enough force.
But applying medicine required force to push that area, otherwise, the swelling really wouldn’t go down.
Sheng Chun’s eyelids twitched, and she conceded, “Okay, thank you, Auntie.”

After applying the medicine, Sheng Chun lay half-reclined on the sofa, resting.
With her foot injured, she couldn’t go anywhere.
She propped her chin on her hand, stared at her phone for a while, then tapped open Pei Yan’s WeChat chat.
Opening it, Sheng Chun realized that he had sent her several messages over the past month, but she had muted him and didn’t pin his chat. She received many WeChat messages every day and simply wouldn’t scroll through them or notice his messages.
After a moment, Sheng Chun pursed her lips and unmuted Pei Yan.
Sheng Chun: [Are you at the office yet?]
Pei Yan: [Just arrived.]
Sheng Chun: [Oh. Auntie applied medicine for me.]
Pei Yan: [She told me.]
Sheng Chun: [...]
Pei Yan lowered his eyes: [What?]
Sheng Chun: [Nothing.]
Pei Yan: [Rest well at home. Tell Auntie if you want anything.]
Sheng Chun: [But it’s so boring at home.]
She had slept well last night and now didn’t want to stay home at all.
There was silence for a few seconds.
Sheng Chun pouted, then went to find Zhou Luoling instead.
Her emotions were a bit jumbled right now, and she needed Teacher Zhou to help her sort things out.
Just as she sent Zhou Luoling an emoji, Pei Yan’s message came in.
Pei Yan: [Do you want to come to the company?]
Sheng Chun: [? Your company?]
Pei Yan: [Whose company else would you want to go to?]
Sheng Chun was stunned again.
She had been with Pei Yan for a very long time, she calculated carefully, it had already been over a year.
This past year, she hadn’t been very busy, but she did have free time to rest at home.
However, Pei Yan had never invited her to his company, and Sheng Chun had never brought it up. Because she was too aware of her status; she wasn’t Pei Yan’s official girlfriend, so she naturally wouldn’t make unreasonable demands like saying she wanted to go to his company.
Going to the company for a “tour” like that was something only an official girlfriend would do to assert her claim.
Moreover, the company Pei Yan mentioned was the Pei family’s main headquarters, not his personally invested film and television company.
After a long wait without her reply, Pei Yan sent her a question mark.
Sheng Chun stared at the question mark for a long while, then asked softly: [Wouldn’t it be inconvenient?]
Pei Yan: [Inconvenient for whom?]
Sheng Chun: [...You.]
Pei Yan: [It’s my company. What inconvenience could there be if my girlfriend comes over?]
Just as Sheng Chun was once again hit by his words, he sent another message: [But let’s agree beforehand, I’m quite busy today, don’t bother me.]
This last sentence directly choked Sheng Chun.
All the excitement in her heart instantly dissipated. At this moment, she didn’t even notice the three words “my girlfriend” he had used, and she indignantly typed: [Don’t be so conceited, when have I ever bothered you?!]
Pei Yan: [Hmm?]
Pei Yan: [Last night.]
Sheng Chun immediately cowered.
She lay on the sofa, looking at their chat for a long while, then replied with a rising lip corner: [That was because I was drunk, don’t argue with a drunk person.]
Pei Yan: [I didn’t.]
If he really wanted to argue with this drunkard, she wouldn’t have been able to get out of bed at nine today.
The two chatted idly for a while.
Sheng Chun replied to Pei Yan saying she would consider it, and if she was truly too bored at home, she would go.
Pei Yan let her decide.
Soon after, Zhou Luoling, who was in the recording studio, replied to her message.
Zhou Luoling: [??? Pei Yan said something like that, what are you still being coy about? Go for it! Do you want to let go of such a perfectly good man?]
Sheng Chun: [But he didn’t call me his girlfriend. Was he supposed to say, “Should my bed partner come to the company?”]
Zhou Luoling was amused by her words “bed partner” and couldn’t help but call her directly.
“What?”
Sheng Chun hummed, “Hahahaha, not enough yet?”
Zhou Luoling, “No, is Mr. Pei really that kind of person? ‘Bed partner’... maybe in his eyes, you are his girlfriend.”
“Heh,” Sheng Chun’s resentment was deep, “Who doesn’t contact their girlfriend for a month?”
“But weren’t you the one not contacting him? He sent you a few messages, didn’t he?”
At this, Sheng Chun was even more speechless. This person sent messages, and she didn’t reply, but he didn’t call, nor did he ask her assistant. “If I didn’t reply, wouldn’t he think something happened to me?”
Zhou Luoling: “?”
She was speechless, “Do you know what you’re doing now?”
“What?”
“Being unreasonable,” Zhou Luoling said exasperatedly, “You’re just a spoiled woman.”
Sheng Chun: “Bullshit.”
Zhou Luoling chuckled, “Back to the main topic, are you going?”
Sheng Chun thought for a moment, “Since he invited me, I’ll reluctantly go take a look.”
Zhou Luoling: “Tsk. A woman who says one thing and means another.”
Sheng Chun remained silent.
After a moment of quiet, Sheng Chun muffled her voice into the pillow and whispered, “I’m starting to think about telling Pei Yan about that thing.”
Zhou Luoling was stunned, “Aren’t you afraid Pei Yan will get angry?”
“I am,” Sheng Chun said, “But if I don’t say anything, I’ll always be uneasy.”
She was always worried that Pei Yan might find out on his own someday, and she would be directly kicked out of the house. She could separate from Pei Yan, but she didn’t want to separate so messily.
Zhou Luoling was silent for a while, then called out, “Baby, have you fallen in love with Pei Yan?”
Sheng Chun didn’t make a sound for a long time. Just when Zhou Luoling thought she was going to avoid the topic again, she whispered, “Not yet.”
But she did like him.
This was the answer Sheng Chun had found in the past month.

After hanging up the phone, Sheng Chun cuddled on the sofa, watching TV.
“Auntie.”
Thinking of something, Sheng Chun called out, “I’ll go to Pei Yan’s company later and have lunch with him.”
The auntie understood, “Then Auntie will make what you two like to eat, and you can take it with you.”
“Thank you, Auntie.”
At 11:30 AM, Sheng Chun dressed beautifully and left with a lunchbox.
Upon arriving at Pei Yan’s company parking lot, his assistant personally came down to greet her.
Entering Pei Yan’s private elevator, Sheng Chun felt that the elevator itself exuded his austere presence.
She touched the tip of her nose. When she exited the elevator, she accidentally ran into a few of Pei Yan’s other assistants.
“Miss Sheng.”
Sheng Chun was momentarily surprised and turned to look at Jian Xiangchen.
Jian Xiangchen was the only one of Pei Yan’s assistants Sheng Chun had ever met. She didn’t recognize the others at all and naturally assumed they wouldn’t know her either. Sheng Chun hesitantly nodded.
Jian Xiangchen said, “Mr. Pei’s office is this way.”
Sheng Chun, with her injured foot, walked extremely slowly.
Originally, when Pei Yan found out she was coming, he asked her if she wanted a wheelchair prepared for her, which Sheng Chun angrily rejected.
Only one of her feet was sprained, not both, and it was just a sprain, she could still walk slowly! A wheelchair would make her look like she was crippled.
Upon arriving at Pei Yan’s office, Sheng Chun immediately saw the man sitting behind the desk.
She raised an eyebrow. Pei Yan looked at her and gestured, “Wait by the sofa, I’ll be done soon.”
“...No rush.”
She wasn’t very hungry yet.
This was Sheng Chun’s first time in his office.
Pei Yan’s office, like him, was cold and stark, with only black, white, and gray tones. She guessed if she came in the summer, it would definitely be very cool.
Sheng Chun looked around, then slightly restrained herself.
Suddenly, Pei Yan got up and walked towards her.
“Does your foot still hurt?”
“A little better than this morning.” Sheng Chun licked her lips, “Are you done with work?”
“Mm.”
Pei Yan looked at her, his gaze falling on her exquisite face. He raised an eyebrow, “Do you have something else to do later?”
Sheng Chun: “?”
Pei Yan raised his hand, his thumb brushing her soft lips.
He leaned down and kissed the corner of her mouth, his voice deep as he asked, “Why are you wearing such beautiful makeup?”
Sheng Chun was choked. She genuinely felt he was a complete straight man.
“As a female celebrity, of course I have to wear makeup when I go out,” she glared at Pei Yan, “If I don’t wear makeup, and I get caught in an ugly photo, wouldn’t that be terrible?”
Pei Yan was speechless. He had something he didn’t say: even if Sheng Chun went out without makeup, there would absolutely be no ugly photos.
Whether she wore makeup or not, there was only a slight difference in her eyebrows and lips.
Of course, this was his personal opinion.
The food the auntie made was delicious, and Sheng Chun couldn’t resist, eating a little more rice.
After eating her fill, Sheng Chun suddenly felt sleepy.
Pei Yan looked at her, “You can rest inside.”
Sheng Chun said “Oh,” “What about you then?”
Pei Yan looked at her, then reached up and tugged at his tie, smiling ambiguously, “Can’t I rest with you?”
“That’s not what I meant.” Sheng Chun felt like she had been misunderstood by Pei Yan all day.
She was speechless, touching the tip of her nose, “I’ll go stand in the corner to digest first.”
She couldn’t sleep right after eating; she had to stand for at least twenty minutes.
She had a metabolism that didn’t easily gain weight, but she still had to control it.
Pei Yan let her be.
________________________________________
Originally, Sheng Chun truly only wanted to simply take a nap at Pei Yan’s place.
But she didn’t know why, her mouth was inexplicably sealed by the person next to her. She had just not fallen asleep immediately, only turned over a few times.
“Pei...”
Sheng Chun whimpered, wanting to speak, but Pei Yan suddenly leaned down and whispered next to her ear, his voice hoarse and sexy, “I’m here.”
His Adam’s apple bobbed. He pressed her hands down and kissed downwards.
Last night, when he was bathing Sheng Chun, Pei Yan almost couldn’t hold back.
But seeing her drunken state, he held back.
Now, with her lying right beside him, he had no reason to let the meat that was at his mouth escape.
He slipped his tongue into hers, entwining with her tongue.
He kissed her deeply. When they parted, there was even a fine silver thread. Sheng Chun’s sense of shame skyrocketed, and her cheeks turned crimson.
“You...”
She gasped, subconsciously pushing him with her knee, but the next second, her legs were also imprisoned by him.
Pei Yan sucked on her earlobe, whispering, “Didn’t you want to play office play?” He said, “I’ll satisfy you.”
The “office play” thing was something Sheng Chun had mentioned at home once while reading a script.
Of course, it wasn’t her line.
At the time, she was playing a supporting role, and this was an interaction between the main characters. Seeing it, Sheng Chun wailed to Zhou Luoling, asking when it would be her turn for office play.
As soon as she finished speaking, Pei Yan happened to enter the room.
The two looked at each other in silence for a while. Pei Yan averted his gaze, as if he hadn’t heard anything.
Sheng Chun saw he had no reaction, so she naturally assumed he hadn’t heard.
But she hadn’t expected Pei Yan to be waiting for her here.
She hummed, opening her eyes to look at him, “Aren’t you working this afternoon?”
Pei Yan raised an eyebrow, lifted her skirt, and kissed downwards, asking, “Want to play with me all afternoon?”
“...”
Sheng Chun was speechless.
Pei Yan held her against him and said softly, “I have a meeting at three.”
So before three, he was free. He had over two hours to spend with her.
At 2:50 PM, Pei Yan emerged from the small bathroom in the lounge.
In front of Sheng Chun, he changed into a fresh suit, looking well-dressed and energetic.
Seeing this, Sheng Chun hid under the blanket and muttered softly, “Well-dressed beast.”
Pei Yan was amused by her words.
He bent down, touched her lips, and replied, “Mm, I’ll be a beast again tonight.”
Sheng Chun: “...You hurry up and go.”
It was almost three, and she didn’t want anyone to know what they had done in the office.
Pei Yan chuckled softly, looking at her unwearable clothes, and said in a low voice, “I have my clothes here. If you want to get up, you can wear them first. I’ll have someone send clothes over later.”
Sheng Chun: “You bring them in yourself.”
She didn’t want to face his assistants.
Pei Yan replied, “Okay.”
A man who has been satisfied will agree to any request you make.
________________________________________
And just like that, Sheng Chun and Pei Yan made up.
That month-long cold war seemed to have vanished for them.
In the following days, the two even lived a life steeped in sweetness.
If it weren’t for her agent informing her that she was entering another film crew, Sheng Chun would have still been immersed in her current sweet dream.
She suddenly wanted to be a good-for-nothing.
But being a good-for-nothing wasn’t an option.
She still needed to earn more money, just in case Pei Yan found out she had deceived him in the future and then blacklisted her.
Hmm, to prevent starving to death.
Sheng Chun joined the film crew and would occasionally contact Pei Yan.
Pei Yan would sometimes visit her at the hotel, but only at the hotel. He no longer brought up the idea of visiting Sheng Chun on set.
In a flash, several more months passed.
Sheng Chun had another argument with Pei Yan, this time over a script.
She really liked it, but it was a romance script, and more importantly, the male lead was set to be her high school and college classmate.
Her...former secret crush.
When they both first entered the industry, there were even rumors about them, and they had quite a few “CP” (couple) fans.
Sheng Chun wanted to take the role, but Pei Yan wouldn’t let her.
