Psst! We're moving!
Yu Qing didn’t receive a reply from Fu Jichen. After taking a bath, her phone remained silent. Yu Jingze still hadn’t returned, so she drifted off to sleep on the couch.
She woke up at 10:30 PM.
She went out to the terrace and saw only Yu Jingxin’s car in the parking area.
Ji Qingyuan hadn’t returned either, so she went upstairs to find Yu Jingxin.
Yu Jingxin was in the walk-in closet, trying on a few newly purchased long dresses.
“Sis.”
Yu Qing’s voice came from the corridor.
Yu Jingxin casually wrapped herself in a bathrobe and opened the door. She looked at Yu Qing. “Had enough sleep?”
Yu Qing took two boxes of yogurt, handing one to Yu Jingxin. “How did you know I slept?”
Yu Jingxin: “Your hair is sticking up.”
Yu Qing: “...” She quickly tried to cover it with her hand.
“You’re covering the wrong spot—it’s on the left.”
“...”
Giving up on salvaging her image, Yu Qing said, “In front of you, I don’t need to keep up appearances. After all, I’ve descended from heaven to visit you—I need to stay grounded.”
Yu Jingxin glanced at the yogurt. It was the brand she always drank. She was particular about food and drinks, and these yogurts were flown in by private jet for Ji Qingyuan.
“Do you like this brand too?” she asked Yu Qing.
Yu Qing pointed to a mini-fridge in the corner of the living room. “I grabbed them from there.”
Yu Jingxin: “...”
She gestured for Yu Qing to come in. “Come help me decide which long dress looks better.”
Yu Qing hesitated slightly. “Isn’t it inappropriate for me to go in?”
This wasn’t just Yu Jingxin’s bedroom—it was their marital bedroom.
“Come in,” Yu Jingxin pushed the door open wider. “Ji Qingyuan doesn’t live here; I live here alone.”
“Is he that pitiful? He hasn’t even made it into the master bedroom yet?”
“Mm. We’ll see later.”
Yu Jingxin took out a few long dresses. “Help me choose one.”
Next week, one of Ji Qingyuan’s friends’ company would be celebrating its tenth anniversary with a gala. Many stars had been invited, and there would be an after-party.
She guessed Leng Wenning might attend as well.
After much deliberation, she decided to accompany Ji Qingyuan.
Yu Qing leaned against the armrest of the sofa. “Try them all on for me. Some dresses look plain, but they look great when worn.”
Yu Jingxin thought of something and went to the jewelry box to fetch a simple hair clip. “Let me pin your hair up—the stray strands are ruining your ethereal vibe.”
Yu Qing looked at the crystal hair clip in Yu Jingxin’s hand. “If you gave me a diamond hair clip, I’d look even more ethereal.”
Yu Jingxin put the crystal clip away. “Then you can keep your hair messy—it looks good too.”
Yu Qing laughed. “Not bad. You’re livelier than before.”
Yu Jingxin tried on five dresses while Yu Qing advised her, selecting one that was elegant yet sexy. Once the evening gown was chosen, they matched it with shoes, but they still needed a clutch.
Yu Qing stood in front of the bag cabinet—there weren’t many eye-catching options.
Her sister wasn’t particularly fond of luxury items. Whatever caught her eye, she bought, regardless of price. The most expensive bag in this cabinet cost over a hundred thousand yuan, while some were just a few hundred.
“Sis, I’ll give you a clutch. Go to my walk-in closet and pick whatever you like.”
“Just help me choose one—I won’t go into your closet. It’s heartbreaking to look at.” Yu Jingxin put the dresses back in the wardrobe. “The money from auctioning off the stuff in your walk-in closet could meet a branch bank’s annual deposit target.”
Yu Qing: “...”
Yu Jingxin suddenly remembered to ask, “What did you come to me for?”
It definitely wasn’t just for a casual chat.
Yu Qing became serious. “Remember to remind Ji Qingyuan to add a clause when signing the nominee investment contract with Leng Wenning—he should have the right to transfer or gift his shares without needing approval from other shareholders.”
Yu Jingxin thought about having to flirt with Ji Qingyuan again tonight and felt a headache coming on.
Yu Qing added, “As for the reason behind adding this clause, let your husband think of it himself. Since he’s the one proposing it, Leng Wenning won’t refuse.”
If it wasn’t clearly stated in the contract, Ji Qingyuan wouldn’t be able to transfer his shares to her sister if Leng Wenning disagreed. No one could do anything about it.
Even if they took legal action, Ji Qingyuan wouldn’t be able to transfer the shares to her sister.
While Ji Qingyuan was still out, Yu Jingxin decided to make him a glass of mangosteen juice. There’s no such thing as being kind without a purpose. Seeing the mangosteen juice, Ji Qingyuan would understand what she meant.
She wouldn’t need to say any mushy words.
“Let’s go downstairs. I’ll make juice for your husband and another one for you.”
These days, Yu Qing had developed a love for mangosteens. The housekeeper had specially brought in a fresh batch today and stored them in the cold room.
Yu Qing asked, “Do you know how to use a juicer?”
“I do. If not, wouldn’t I be stupid?”
“...”
Yu Qing didn’t respond. She didn’t know how to use one.

Yu Qing didn’t accompany Yu Jingxin to the kitchen. She had already drunk yogurt and couldn’t handle more juice.
Feeling awake and clear-headed now, she sat down at the computer and started working overtime.
Because of her pregnancy, Qin Moling had taken over most of the company’s affairs, leaving her with little to do. Currently, she only oversaw product promotion planning.
Once Wenning Media was settled, the next step was to finalize the concert venue, invite celebrities, and negotiate cooperation with TV stations.
She planned to schedule the concert for August, during summer vacation when ratings were high. She would also be able to attend in person before giving birth.
With five months left, preparations had to start now—if they waited, potential guests might have scheduling conflicts.
After a moment of thought, Yu Qing called her cousin Li Yanzhuo.
“Not angry anymore?” That was Li Yanzhuo’s first sentence.
Yu Qing had never been angry—it wasn’t about anger. She was just sad about the cruelty and indifference among family members.
“I’m calling you today not to talk about family matters but to discuss a collaboration. You can make quite a bit of money—are you interested?”
There was a brief silence on the other end.
Li Yanzhuo: “Even if I’m not interested, I’ll pretend to be. I want to see you.”
Yu Qing chose the meeting spot at the entrance of their villa community. It was quiet, and they could take a walk along the way, saving the cost of going to a café.
After the call ended, Yu Qing changed clothes. In the mirror, her beautiful curls, which hadn’t been dried properly and were affected by her sleeping position, had a strand sticking up, ruining the aesthetic.
She found a hair tie and pulled her hair into a ponytail, tugging the unruly strands back to smooth them out.
When Yu Qing went out, Ji Qingyuan and Yu Jingze still hadn’t returned.
Li Yanzhuo arrived at the community entrance around the same time. His place wasn’t far from here.
After parking, Yu Qing approached.
When Yu Qing saw the tall figure in front of the car, her steps faltered slightly. She often wondered—if her grandparents were still alive, and her uncles hadn’t turned against each other over the family inheritance...
She and Li Yanzhuo would still be laughing and chatting at their grandmother’s house like they did as kids.
It had been a long time since they last met. Li Yanzhuo closed the car door and strode toward her.
Without scrutinizing her closely, he first gave her a hug.
Neither spoke.
Li Yanzhuo released her and, looking at her face, suddenly smiled. He reached out to press down her unruly hair. “It’s sticking up.”
Yu Qing: “...”
Her image was completely ruined.
The awkward atmosphere was finally eased by this strand of hair.
Yu Qing pulled off the hair tie, letting her hair fall loose. This way, perhaps the unruly strands weren’t as noticeable.
Li Yanzhuo ruffled her hair. “You don’t need to worry about appearances in front of me. When you were little, you used to have chocolate ice cream all over your mouth...”
Yu Qing interrupted him. “Say another word, and we’re done.”
Li Yanzhuo chuckled and refrained from upsetting her further.
The two walked along the sidewalk aimlessly, quiet for a long while.
Finally, Yu Qing broke the silence. “My mom returned to Shanghai in February—did you know?”
Li Yanzhuo didn’t know. “Auntie hasn’t contacted me, nor has she gone home.”
That place couldn’t really be called “home” anymore.
He glanced at her. “How’s life at the Yu family?”
“Pretty good.”
“That’s good. You and Auntie...”
Yu Qing cut him off. “Let’s not talk about family matters for now.”
Li Yanzhuo nodded. “Alright, then tell me about this collaboration. I’m all ears.”
“I want to host the ‘Lemong All-Star Concert’ and broadcast it live on satellite TV.”
“Just this one time?”
“No, I want to turn it into a branded concert series.”
Li Yanzhuo slowly nodded, understanding now.
Many companies these days were hosting anniversary galas, inviting celebrities to walk the red carpet, or even sponsoring reality shows outright.
This all-star concert was just a slightly different format but essentially the same. It was all for product promotion and brand image enhancement.
Yu Qing explained her ideas and requirements to him. “When the time comes, your company should prepare a proposal and quote for me.”
Her tone was completely professional.
Li Yanzhuo agreed, and after that, there wasn’t much else to talk about.
Yu Qing didn’t plan to go home either, so she continued walking with him.
“Yu Qing, Grandma respected your choices, but before she passed, she told me she still hoped you’d have a family of your own. She said if you don’t have a home, when you grow old, you’ll be lonely. By then, you won’t have anyone to care about, and no one will care about you. She couldn’t put her mind at ease.”
Thinking of her grandmother brought sadness to Yu Qing. Now that she had a little fishling growing in her belly, she didn’t want her sorrow to pass on to the child.
She looked at Li Yanzhuo. “Don’t worry—I’ve already started raising my little fishling. I won’t be lonely.”
Li Yanzhuo didn’t realize she was referring to her unborn child—he took it literally. “But you can’t spend every day fishing in a pond when you’re old.”
Yu Qing: “...”
She pointed to her stomach. “The fishling is being raised here.”
Li Yanzhuo was stunned, speechless for a moment. “Whose child is it?”
“...What do you think?”
Li Yanzhuo burst out laughing. The news came as a complete surprise, and his brain struggled to catch up.
After congratulating her, he immersed himself in the joy of becoming an uncle.
Her phone rang—it was Yu Jingze.
This mermaid finally remembered she had a sister who needed looking after.
“Are you done with your dinner with Yu Fei?”
“What time is it now? If we kept eating, we’d bankrupt the restaurant!”
Yu Jingze had lost track of time. “I’m heading home to keep you company.”
He called over a waiter to pay the bill.
After working overtime, he had originally planned to go home and spend time with her. But on the way, he received a call from Zhou Siyuan and ended up having late-night snacks with her, which delayed him.
Zhou Siyuan casually asked, “Who are you rushing back to? Yu Jingxin?”
Yu Jingze scanned to pay. “No, Yu Qing.”
After finishing the payment, the waiter left. Zhou Siyuan finally spoke. “It must be nice to be your sister—she’s already grown up, yet you’re still rushing back to keep her company. I want to be your sister too.”
Yu Jingze looked at her. “Aren’t you already?”
“It’s not the same.”
“There’s no difference.”
Yu Jingze stood up, grabbed his suit jacket, and said, “Let’s go.”
Zhou Siyuan slung her bag over her shoulder and walked alongside him as they left the restaurant. “I forgot to tell you something—I’m planning to fully acquire SZ Catering.”
Yu Jingze knew a bit about SZ Catering. SZ had loans with their bank, and its equity structure was complex. “A full acquisition will be difficult.”
Zhou Siyuan: “I like challenges. If it doesn’t work out, I still have you. You’ll help me when the time comes.”

Yu Qing said goodbye to Li Yanzhuo and returned home to wait for Yu Jingze.
In the parking area, Ji Qingyuan’s car had already returned.
In the kitchen, Yu Jingxin was still busy juicing.
Yu Qing frowned. “You were juicing when I left, and now that I’m back from my meeting, you’re still at it?”
Yu Jingxin: “It’s pretty tasty—I drank the last glass myself.”
“...”
Yu Jingxin picked up the freshly poured glass, turned off the kitchen lights, and went upstairs to find Ji Qingyuan.
Ji Qingyuan had already showered and was waiting for her in the living room. She had promised him juice, and he had been anxiously waiting ever since, unsure what she was up to.
“Done?” Yu Jingxin acted nonchalantly and handed him the glass.
“Mm.” Ji Qingyuan didn’t ask why she was suddenly being so nice. He quickly drank the juice, fearing she might take it away if he made her unhappy.
Yu Jingxin sat down next to him. “I’ll accompany you to the cocktail party next week.”
Ji Qingyuan was pleasantly surprised. In the past, no matter what social event it was, she never paid attention. If he mentioned it to her, she would make excuses, saying she was busy with work or had appointments.
Gradually, he stopped bothering her altogether, never mentioning any social events again.
This time, she was being so proactive.
He became even more convinced there was a big trap waiting for him. He continued drinking the juice.
Yu Jingxin: “Drink slowly.” She hadn’t gotten to the point yet.
Ji Qingyuan paused halfway through his drink. “Is there something?”
Yu Jingxin realized neither she nor Ji Qingyuan were people who could navigate life with subtlety—they were both straightforward.
Since he was being so direct, she decided to get straight to the point. “When you sign the contract with Leng Wenning, remember to add a clause allowing you to transfer shares at any time without needing approval from other shareholders.”
Ji Qingyuan sighed in relief—it wasn’t some impossible request.
He teased her. “If you were to act coquettish with me, I’d consider it.”
Yu Jingxin noticed his teasing, especially the slight smile at the corner of his mouth. She stood up to leave, but he pulled her back, causing her to fall onto him.
Ji Qingyuan set the glass aside, pulling her close and positioning her to straddle his lap, his arms tightly wrapped around her.
This was the first time Yu Jingxin had sat on him like this—the posture was intimate.
His gaze was focused on her, and the faint scent of wine lingered on him. She turned her face away, avoiding his eyes.
“I’m not opposed to agreeing,” Ji Qingyuan kissed her chin, “but you can’t pretend to be unfamiliar with me after getting out of bed. I wrote a self-criticism for you. Can you hug me like that night every day from now on?”
How could she possibly answer such a question?
Yu Jingxin remained silent, which amounted to tacit consent.
Ji Qingyuan lowered his head and kissed her gently.
Yu Jingxin felt the awkwardness of her position and tried to stand up, but Ji Qingyuan wouldn’t let her.
Later, she was kissed senseless.

In the living room on the first floor, Yu Qing was still waiting for Yu Jingze to return.
Nearly an hour had passed since he said he was coming home—even crawling would’ve gotten him there by now.
By this time, Fu Jichen should have landed.
Perhaps he thought she was already asleep and didn’t check in.
Yu Qing sent a message to Fu Jichen: [President Fu, Yu Jingze hasn’t come back yet.]
Fu Jichen quickly called her. “Wait until I get home to settle things with him. I’ll keep you company.” He glanced at his watch. “It’s already past one o’clock. Why aren’t you asleep?”
Yu Qing: “I missed you. I’m not sleepy.”
“I’m with Chairman Pang right now—he stepped out to take a call. After I finish discussing matters, I’ll video call you.”
“It’s fine, don’t bother. Focus on your work.”
Fu Jichen asked her, “Was it boring tonight?”
Yu Qing twirled her hair absently and told him about meeting Li Yanzhuo earlier. “By the way, I fell asleep without fixing my hair, and one strand ended up sticking up wildly.”
“It’s fine—it shows your hair is full of life.”
“...”
Fu Jichen had to get back to work. “Go to sleep early. I don’t know when I’ll finish here, but I’ll wake you up at seven tomorrow morning and video call you then.”
Before hanging up, Yu Qing said to him, “Fu Jichen, let’s not contact each other until you return—just like during your previous business trips. I want to see how much I miss you.”
After a pause, Fu Jichen replied, “That would mean no contact for several days. I might not be able to handle it—I’m apologizing in advance.”
