Psst! We're moving!
As soon as Lu Chi entered the room, he was startled by the giant SpongeBob on the ceiling.
He had never seen a ceiling decorated like this before. The entire roof was covered with a massive SpongeBob, directly facing the bed.
Tang Yin asked, “Do you like it?”
Lu Chi replied, “...It’s nice.”
He was afraid that saying it wasn’t good-looking would make Tang Yin unhappy. Besides, the ceiling wasn’t ugly—it was just too yellow...
Tang Yin followed behind him and suddenly closed the door, mischievously saying, “Now it’s just the two of us!”
Lu Chi turned to look at her, finding her excitement a bit strange.
Without hesitation, Tang Yin approached him and pushed him onto the bed. However, she miscalculated, and instead of reaching the bed, both of them tumbled onto the soft carpet covering the floor.
Fortunately, there was a layer of blanket on the ground.
Even so, Lu Chi couldn’t help but let out a low groan.
Tang Yin hadn’t expected this and quickly asked, “Are you okay? Did you hurt yourself anywhere? Where does it hurt?”
As she spoke, she reached out to touch him, but his thick overcoat made it impossible to feel anything. In the end, she undid the buttons of his coat and slipped her hand inside.
Lu Chi wasn’t wearing much underneath, so her touch was very clear.
He froze for a moment, stammering, “Don’t... don’t touch anymore.”
Tang Yin was frantic; she had heard that groan loud and clear. “You fell just now. I just want to know where you got hurt.”
Lu Chi: “...”
He seriously doubted whether Tang Yin was doing this intentionally or not.
But with one hand exploring his back while she lay in his arms, anyone would find it hard to stay composed.
Lu Chi grabbed her wrist and murmured softly, “Stop... I’m fine.”
He shifted, trying to get up, but Tang Yin pushed him back down, causing his upper body to hit the ground again.
Tang Yin pulled her hand out and finally realized something. Smiling, she leaned in and teasingly asked, “Did you lose control?”
Lu Chi: “...” He turned his face away, refusing to answer.
Tang Yin didn’t press further. Knowing his shy nature, he wouldn’t tell her even if she asked. Bringing it up would only make things awkward.
She acted directly, leaning in to nibble on his lips lightly, extending her tongue to lick.
Lu Chi had already been teased once, and now, how could he hold back? With one hand, he grasped her head and plunged into her mouth.
In this situation, all he could see in his eyes were waves of desire.
Their tongues intertwined, filled with each other’s breath. They rolled on the ground, subtly switching positions without making a sound.
After a long while, he stopped and released her.
Lu Chi nuzzled her nose and kissed it gently.
Tang Yin blinked, her lashes trembling, appearing vivid in Lu Chi’s eyes.
Her breathing was shallow. Being so close, they could clearly hear each other’s breaths and even their heartbeats.
Though they had kissed many times before, this time felt especially heart-stirring.
However, the sound of footsteps outside interrupted the mood. Both stiffened, relieved when the footsteps didn’t stop at the door.
Lu Chi got up from her and cleared his throat softly before whispering, “I should... go back.”
Tang Yin felt reluctant. She glanced at the clock on the cabinet—it was almost eleven. By the time he got home, it would be midnight.
It was indeed late, and she couldn’t insist. Bitterly, she said, “Alright, I’ll see you out.”
The two went downstairs. Jiang Qiuhuan and Tang Ywei had returned. Seeing him leaving, they verbally tried to persuade him to stay.
Lu Chi politely declined, and he and Tang Yin walked out the door one after another.
Tang Yin said, “Remember to think of me when you get back.”
Lu Chi suddenly bent down and kissed her forehead. “Alright.”
She had said this phrase many times.
Every time they parted, she always reminded him.
Not long after the New Year, the two returned to school together. Time flew by, and the new semester began.
In the second semester, Tang Yin was much more comfortable than the previous one. She dared to skip some elective classes with Zhao Le when she had nothing to do.
While Zhao Le usually went back to the dormitory to sleep, Tang Yin would go to the Medical School to find Lu Chi.
In Lu Chi’s class, many people hoped that she and he would break up so they could have a chance with him. But after a semester, their relationship remained as strong as ever.
Eventually, everyone gave up.
Tang Yin enjoyed attending his classes, becoming familiar with several teachers. This direct way of marking her territory pleased her—clearly telling others that Lu Chi was taken.
However, she didn’t expect that even under these circumstances, someone would still set their sights on Lu Chi, trying every day to find ways to ask him out.
The Medical School changed many courses in the second semester, and Lu Chi’s class was no exception. Occasionally, he had a day off, but unfortunately, it didn’t align with Tang Yin’s weekends.
So, Lu Chi generally spent mornings or afternoons in the library, then picked her up from the Foreign Languages School when class was about to end.
This was how they spent their time in the second half of the second semester.
...
The oral English teacher on the podium said, “You’re not happy about going out to do tasks, huh? Send the results to my email tonight. If you’re late, it counts as not completing the assignment, and your participation grade will be deducted.”
With that, he left the classroom.
Zhao Le happily exclaimed, “Out of the whole department, the oral teacher is the only one who doesn’t mind checking attendance. I love teachers who dismiss class halfway to assign tasks.”
Though it wasn’t truly dismissal, the oral teacher handed out sheets of paper listing nearly 20 tasks. They had to choose at least five, take photos with their phones, and send them to his email by night.
A unique assignment.
Tang Yin packed up her books and said to Zhao Le, “I’ll go to the library first. You go ahead.”
Zhao Le smirked meaningfully. “Oh, going to find your doctor boyfriend, huh? Alright, I’ll head to the cafeteria first. There’s a task involving the cafeteria anyway.”
Tang Yin nodded and parted ways with her at the teaching building.
It wasn’t finals week yet, so there weren’t many people in the library. She had already asked Lu Chi where he was and went straight upstairs.
To her surprise, she saw a girl sitting across from Lu Chi.
Lu Chi was looking down at his book, taking notes, seemingly unaware of the girl staring at him.
Tang Yin raised an eyebrow. She had seen that girl before.
Over time, she had become somewhat familiar with many people in Lu Chi’s class. Occasionally, she even shared snacks with some girls sitting near Lu Chi during small classes.
Gradually, those girls became acquainted with Tang Yin and told her things she didn’t know, including someone having a crush on Lu Chi.
One of them was this very girl.
The first time Tang Yin saw her, the girl had asked Lu Chi to borrow something, which he flatly refused without giving it much thought.
Later, the girls in his class told her that the girl was a senior who had failed a core course and hadn’t passed the retake. She came to their class to retake it and developed feelings for Lu Chi.
Whenever she had free time, she would try to talk to Lu Chi and bring him snacks. Tang Yin was satisfied that Lu Chi had never responded, always firmly rejecting her advances.
But this senior was persistent, intensifying her pursuit.
Though Tang Yin visited Lu Chi’s classroom often this semester, she hadn’t encountered the senior since their schedules coincidentally aligned.
Since Lu Chi showed no interest in her, Tang Yin didn’t react either.
She didn’t expect to run into her here today.
Yu Xinxin flipped through her book but kept glancing at the person across from her.
At first, she was quite annoyed about failing her retake. But unexpectedly, the classroom she chose to audit happened to have such a handsome guy.
Though she had seen many attractive men, none made her heart flutter like Lu Chi.
The first time she attended class, she noticed him immediately. At that time, she simply admired him and didn’t think much of it.
As she attended more classes and the semester progressed, she realized she had fallen for him. She wanted to see him every day.
But he had a girlfriend.
Thinking about it made Yu Xinxin uncomfortable. It was public knowledge in the class that Lu Chi had a girlfriend. She had seen her once.
Later, she intentionally investigated and found out it was a girl from the basketball team—pretty, from the Foreign Languages School.
With such different majors and so many people on campus, their relationship might not last long. Yu Xinxin felt hopeful.
Besides, relationships grew tiresome over time, and people craved novelty. That was her plan—to slowly infiltrate his life.
Moreover, she wasn’t unattractive; she had admirers too. Though she hadn’t interacted with his girlfriend, she had confidence.
Men were all alike—unable to resist temptation. She didn’t believe Lu Chi was any different.
Thinking this, Yu Xinxin glanced at the time and realized it was already eleven.
She tidied her makeup in the mirror and softly said, “Lu Chi, it’s eleven o’clock. Let’s go eat together?”
Lu Chi finally looked up from his book, a hint of impatience in his eyes, but still politely replied, “Sorry, Senior, I’m waiting for my girlfriend.”
He thought his meaning was clear enough.
Hearing this response, Yu Xinxin’s expression soured, though she expected it. Still, she persisted, “Senior is inviting you to dinner, and you won’t give me face? Won’t go?”
Lu Chi put down his pen and said, “Sorry, Senior, I need to do problems.”
Yu Xinxin: “...”
What problems? Are problems prettier than people?
Not far away, Tang Yin almost burst out laughing. Lu Chi’s response was unexpected, and seeing the senior flustered amused her.
Everyone knew he had a girlfriend, yet she still pursued him. What was she thinking?
Tang Yin walked over and sat beside Lu Chi, wrapping her arm around his and speaking for him. “Sorry, Senior, my boyfriend is having dinner with me.”
Seeing her arrive, Lu Chi’s expression brightened slightly.
Yu Xinxin was speechless, feeling embarrassed being caught red-handed.
She composed herself, smiled, and said, “Since Junior says so, then never mind. Maybe next time we can eat together.”
Yu Xinxin packed up her books and stood to leave.
Lu Chi also turned to Tang Yin and said, “Shall we go?”
Looking at Tang Yin’s sweet appearance today, he couldn’t resist wanting to bite her but managed to restrain himself.
“Wait,” Tang Yin whispered into his ear. “I’ve decided to settle this once and for all.”
Lu Chi didn’t know what she planned to do but didn’t stop her. Obediently, he replied, “Okay.”
Tang Yin smiled, resting her chin on her hand and staring at Yu Xinxin. Slowly, she said, “Senior, that’s really not possible. From now on, Lu Chi will only have meals with his girlfriend.”
She continued, “Senior, you’ve asked my boyfriend out more than once, right? Don’t you think you should avoid suspicion?”
Before Yu Xinxin could respond, Tang Yin added, “Especially... when I’m not around.”
Her words were clear enough.
She fixed her delicate gaze on Yu Xinxin.
For a moment, Yu Xinxin froze, feeling her thoughts laid bare. She couldn’t speak for a long time.
