The UAE Ministry of Education (MOE) maintains ongoing efforts to improve our education system. To that effect, all schools take part in various international assessments to benchmark and use data-informed decision making to support schools in developing improvement measures that will positively impact your son/daughter's learning outcomes.
On Tuesday, 2nd May, two (2) preselected (not by the school) classes in Year 5 will have the opportunity to participate in IEA (International Association for the Evaluation of Educational Achievement) TIMSS (Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study) Digital Assessment.
TIMSS is a global assessment administered in more than 65 countries that evaluates students' performance in Mathematics and Science.
To support our students for the upcoming TIMSS examinations, Maths and Science resources have been posted on Google Classroom. Maths and Science past papers are being administered in all classes to familiarise students with the assessment and its format. Heads of subjects will also be conducting a workshop with parents of students of the preselected classes.
Please keep an eye on your PCode and GC for more information. As always, thank you for your support!
Something exciting to look forward to!
Year 2 to 8 students will be participating in a Mental Maths Competition conducted by Ignited Mindlab, the biggest Mental Maths competition in UAE! This will help student to develop a competitive attitude at an early age and prepare the foundation for future competitive examinations.

CELEBRATION OF STUDENT ACHEIVEMENTS
Congratulations to our Star Student of the Week in Year 3!
Kindness makes the world a better place. Being kind, compassionate, generous and considerate can make a huge difference to the lives of people around us.
This was a sunnah of the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) and he has said:
"Those who are merciful will be shown mercy by the Most Merciful. Be merciful to those on the earth and the One in the heaven will be merciful to you."
This Ramadan, we are celebrating this wonderful act of kindness and asked our staff to nominate people who had gone above and beyond and done and an act of kindness towards them or others.
MashaAllah the response was overwhelming and we had a good number of staff getting these certificates.
Thank you to all these kind souls who make ASPS a better place and impact lives on a daily basis.
As the month of Ramdan is nearing to a close we would love to have the opportunity to break a fast together as a community and share stories about how Ramadan is going.
