On October 11-12, 2023, our students from Year 4 to 9 came together to create awe-inspiring hands-on projects based on stories from the Prophet's life. These projects brilliantly showcased how his teachings can be applied in real-life situations.
A huge thank you to everyone involved - students, teachers and parents, for making this exhibition a memorable and enlightening experience.
We are excited to announce that we will be organising a Bake Sale fundraiser for breast cancer awareness month on Thursday, 26th October 2023. This event is a charity initiative and all proceeds will be donated to the Emirates Red Crescent. We encourage all our students to participate and extend a warm invitation to parents to join us.
All students, from Nursery to Year 9, are invited to contribute to this event by donating savoury or sweet treats to the Bake for Care Bake Sale. To participate, please follow these steps:
Fill out the donation form, indicating the item your child would like to donate.
Food donations should be dropped off at MPS between 7:30am and 8:30am on Thursday 26th October. We appreciate your generosity and encourage you to donate as much as possible.
We welcome a wide variety of edible treats, both savoury and sweet, as long as they are portable (able to be held in the palm of your hand) and not require specific temperature conditions (no ice-cream, please!). Here are some ideas:
Cupcakes
Biscuits
Cookies
Muffins
Brownies
Samosa
Bread rolls
Fruits
Pink Lemonade
The Pink Bake Sale will be open to parents from 09:00am - 2:40pm in the school's MPS. During the times when school buses are leaving the premises, the back gate (Gate 5) can be used as an entry point for parents who wish to visit the Bake Sale. Our security personnel will be available to assist and direct you on the day.
We strongly encourage parents to participate and motivate the students who have put in so much effort into planning and organising this event. Your generosity is invaluable in supporting this cause.
The "Read Before You Leave" challenge is a year-long initiative that encourages students to explore a curated list of books. Its goal is to foster a lifelong love for reading, enhance academic skills, and promote personal growth. Students track their progress and engage in discussions to ensure comprehension.
We have curated a list of books for this year-long project that will be available in the Infant Library for KS1 (Years 1 and 2) and in the Main Library for KS2 (Years 3-6) and KS3 (Years 7-9).
Encourage your child to dive into these books and mark them off as they finish. This programme is not just about academics; it is about personal growth. Our goal is to spark a love for reading that empowers students to explore new worlds confidently.
We've also added this list to the Form Tutor Google Classrooms for easy access. Each student will be assigned a copy of this list on Google Classroom to tick off as they complete each book.
READ BEFORE YOU LEAVE 23/24 (View only version)
To test whether students have actually read a book, the following criteria will be used:
Book Summaries: Provide a brief summary of the book's main plot, including key events, characters, and the book's central theme.
Character Analysis: Describe the main characters in the book, their personalities, motivations, and character development throughout the story.
Key Quotes or Passages: Give specific quotes or passages that stood out to the student and their significance within the context of the book.
Discussion Questions: Answer a set of discussion questions related to the book. Their ability to engage in thoughtful discussions about the book's themes and messages can indicate their understanding.
We are offering additional learning support in Arabic Language tailored to the needs of Year 1 to 9 students. These sessions cater to both Arabic and Non-Arabic speakers, including new students in ASPS.
We are committed to providing a modified curriculum that meets each student's individual level, ensuring an enriching learning experience.
The curriculum will be aligned with the student's proficiency level as determined by the admission exam in Arabic Language.
Parents may not cancel these classes during the academic year, except when the school management observes significant progress in the student's performance and grants an exemption from these paid Arabic sessions.
This additional learning support is about giving students the help they need to do well in Arabic Language. That is, if they need any extra help at all.
Arabic Language Enrichment Lessons will be conducted before or after school every Tuesday and Thursday (only):
Morning classes will be from 7:25 am to 7:55 am
Or you can select the afternoon classes Afternoon classes will be from 2:20 pm to 2:50 pm
Please note:
There will be no morning or afternoon alternative transport arrangement for bus students. Please ensure your student arrives at the school on time for the morning session and should be collected promptly after the afternoon session finishes.
This is an optional paid service open for students from Year 1-8. There is a charge of 500 AED per month or 62.50 AED per session.
This is a wonderful opportunity for children to start their days in the best way possible, with the learning and recitation of the Holy Quran.
Registration for morning Quran classes at school is open to students from FS1 to Year 9.
Classes will commence on Monday, 23rd October. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 7:25 am to 7:55 am.
Important reminders:
There is no alternative transport arrangement made for bus students who would like to join the morning Quran classes.
The registration fee for Quran Morning classes is 100 DHS for the entire academic year 23/24. (To be submitted to the accounts department after receiving a confirmation email that your child has been accepted in the Quran morning classes. The deadline for payment is on the 5th of November 2023).
In order to achieve a fruitful outcome from the Morning Quran program, we strongly advise you to motivate and keep track of your child/children’s memorization of the assigned portions.
We also request that you ensure your child/children attend classes regularly and punctually, as frequent absences can lead to decreased performance.
Seats are available on a first-come, first-served basis. We can accommodate the first 200 students.
Registration will close once we reach the maximum number of students.

At ASPS, we marked Mental Health Awareness Day with a range of engaging activities and student-led initiatives. These included class activities, large group assemblies, student-led discussions, and the completion of Mental Health Challenges.
Our youngest learners were encouraged to create their own 'Calm Box', filled with items that bring them a sense of calm. Through a lively show-and-tell activity, they not only discovered their own emotions but also gained confidence in managing them through self-regulation and self-care.
Primary students participated in informative large group assemblies, aimed at deepening their understanding of mental health and dispelling common myths associated with it.
In the secondary section, students took the lead in raising awareness about mental health issues. Year 9 ambassadors visited Year 7 and Year 8 classes, initiating open discussions about mental health. Furthermore, Year 8 students led a student voice initiative, seeking input from their peers on the challenges they face. These insights were shared and brainstormed during the Wellbeing assembly on Friday. Together, students collaborated on ideas to foster a culture of openness and acceptance here at Al Salam.
This collective effort underscores our commitment to supporting mental wellbeing within the ASPS community.
Students completed daily challenges aimed at improving their mental health. These included writing a letter to yourself, meditating, decluttering, practising gratitude and enjoying nature. Students were asked to upload pictures on the form. https://forms.gle/9FosMEQJhiwDziDx7
Completing all five will earn students a Mental Health Champion certificate! Form closes on the 15th of October.
