Reading: The Speckled Band by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle

Genre: Detective Fiction

Comprehension: Understand the key plot elements, characters, and themes of "The Speckled Band."

Critical Thinking & Making inferences: Analyse the narrative structure and identify the central problem or mystery in the story. Make inferences about character motivations and actions.

Vocabulary Development: Expand vocabulary by exploring words and phrases unique to the story.

Writing:

Crime Reports: Report writing- using journalistic approach and ethics.

Character Analysis: Write a character analysis of Sherlock Holmes or Dr. Grimesby Roylott. Learn to structure paragraphs effectively, with clear topic sentences and supporting details. Using PEEL and PETAL structure.

Editing and Feedback: Develop skills in revising and proofreading by giving effective feedback to eliminate errors in grammar, spelling, and punctuation.

SPaG topics will be practised along with the writing topics.

Extended work:-Thematic Essay: Explore the themes present in "The Speckled Band," such as justice, fear, or deception and write an essay.

To identify the parts of the digestive system and state the function of each part of the digestive system.
To define an enzyme and identify the parts of the digestive system that produces enzymes.
To evaluate the lock and key model of enzyme action .
To explain the adaptations of villi for its function.

- أن يجيب الطالب عن أسئلة فقهم المقروء( قصة قصيرة ).

-أن يميز الطالب الهمزة المتطرفة في النص المكتوب .

سيتعلم الطلاب خلال هذا الشهر عدة موضوعات وهي : مراجعة عامة على ما سبق دراسته الوحدة الأولى : البعث والنشور 15-1 ( قرآن كريم ) ومن خلالها استطاع الطالب أن مراجعة عامة يوضح حياة المدينة وحياة الإمام مالك . يسرد أحداث غزوة بدر والسيدة عائشة . يبين فرائض الصلاة وسننها وسنن الفطرة يفسر سورة السجدة والملك . يشرح حديث وصايا النبي والمؤمن بين الشكر والصبر والجليس الصالح . يوضح علامات الساعة والكتب السماوية وأنواع الهداية البعث والنشور 15-1 ( قرآن كريم ) يظهر قدرة على تلاوة الآيات المقررة من سورة ق تلاوة سليمة. يبين المعنى الإجمالي للآيات الكريمة. يستنتج منهجية الحوار في الآيات.

ISLAMIC B

Exemplars from IGCSE papers were provided to the students.

They analysed these answers to evaluate against the assessment descriptors and the marking scheme.
Eventually they co-constructed a writing criteria that will be used for the year.
Students were introduced to tafseer and using it to understand the verses of the Quran.
They learned how to refelct and analyse the tafseer of Surah Qaf to help understand the meaning of verses 1-6.
They were able to extend this learning into real life sitautions and use this knowledge to solve real life problems.

ART :

Use of geometrical tools to construct a geometric design and use the straight repeat method to create a pattern.

P.E :

For YR - 8s, Qucik overview session on new opportunities for this season for physical and mental growth and learning. This month our PE team will worked on student's BMI. Fitness components Assessment was done to check each and every students fitness based on: Strength and Endurance, Cardiovascular Fitness, and Flexibility.

COMPUTING :

To be able to create a profile for yourself that reflects the next 15 years (ice breaker activity).
To be able to understand how Linear Searching Algorithm is used to find the position of an item in a list.
To be able to understand how Binary Searching Algorithm is used to find the position of an item in a list.

French :

Students are learning

MSC :

To define the concepts of duty and responsibility and understand the role of moral rules, law and traditions in fulfilling our responsibilities.
To understand the importance of moral rules in our life and analyze the ways to implement them.
