Primary and Seconday End of Term Assessments
Dear ASPS parents and guardians,
We would like to take a moment to remind parents of the importance of both your child's wellbeing and their attendance during this critical time, especially as exam days approach.
It is important to prioritise your child's health above all else. If your child is not feeling well, please do not hesitate to keep them at home. Students who are unwell may not perform their best during exams, and their health and comfort should always come first.
In the event that a student exhibits signs of illness, please do not send them to school for assessments.
If such a case arises, the child will be promptly sent home from the school clinic without completing their assessments. In this instance, the student's overall grade will be determined based on their formative* assessments. Please be aware that exams cannot be administered in the clinic.
For students who are absent due to illness and are unable to attend school, a medical note is required.
Upon receipt of the medical note, the student will be awarded the marks of their formative assessments as their test grade. Students who are absent without a medical note will receive a score of zero for the test.
We ask that you review our attendance policy, which also outlines both authorised and unauthorised absences. Maintaining consistent attendance is vital not only on exam days but throughout the academic year.
A reminder regarding the Art Summative Assessment: this assessment is scheduled to take place from 13th November during the designated art lessons.
Thank you for your cooperation and understanding. We appreciate your continued support in ensuring the wellbeing and academic success of all our students.
Formative assessments are ongoing evaluations of a student's achievement in-class work, discussions, homework (where applicable, projects, pop quizzes, end of unit tests etc.
Year 1 to 9 review pack and timetable can be found here.
World Diabetes Awareness Day is a global campaign led by the International Diabetes Federation (IDF) to raise awareness about diabetes, its prevention, management and the need for improved care.
The aim of World Diabetes Awareness Day is to serve as a platform to increase public understanding of diabetes, including its causes, risk factors and how it can be managed.
💙It highlights the importance of early detection and prevention efforts to reduce the incidence of diabetes and its complications.
💙It also emphasises the significance of a healthy lifestyle, including regular physical activity and a balanced diet, in preventing type 2 diabetes.
Join us in observing World Diabetes Awareness Day!
On Monday, 13th November, let's turn up the blue! It’s a school uniform day but staff members and students are encouraged to add a touch of blue to their outfit/school uniform to show support in observing World Diabetes Awareness Day!
Introducing our Healthiest Lunch Box initiative! We are on a mission to empower our students to make nutritious choices. The primary aim is to cultivate lifelong healthy eating habits. e
🍎🥦 Here's the plan: Fill your lunch box with a vibrant array of fruits and vegetables - aim for two to three different types. Your sandwich takes up one-quarter, and your choice of yogurt, milk or a refreshing refreshing juice on the side!
But this not just about bringing these foods, it is about enjoying them too! We will be keeping an eye out to ensure that every delicious, nutrient-packed item is being savoured. No food left behind!
🏆 And for those who go the extra mile, we have awards waiting!
This is a fantastic opportunity to foster a love for reading and provide access to a diverse selection of high-quality books. Borrow, read and let your imagination soar! 📖✨
We are thrilled to announce a special treat for all book enthusiasts! Starting next week, our school library will be open for parents and students every Wednesday from 2:30 to 3:30 pm, right at home time!
EYFS to Year 2 can visit the Infant Library (ground floor)
Year 3 to Year 9 can visit the second floor Library
Embracing Wellbeing and Making a Noise Against Bullying!
This Antibullying Week, we're putting the spotlight on the importance of making a noise for mental and emotional wellbeing. Our students will be participating in engaging activities in class and during assemblies, all aimed at creating awareness about bullying and empowering them to speak up against it.
🧦 And mark your calendars! On Tuesday, 14th November, our students are encouraged to make a bold statement by wearing mismatched, vibrant socks to school. It's our way of celebrating what makes each of us uniquely special!
Join Ms. Viji Koshy, our Head of Secondary School, and her team in Key Stage 3 for a parent engagement session!
Assessment preparation support for your child is about how you as a parent can empower your child in facing academic challenges with confidence. The session will highlight a range of strategies designed to enhance their understanding of subjects, develop effective study habits, and boost overall academic performance. The session will also involve guidance to identify individual learning styles, providing targeted resources, and fostering a positive attitude towards learning.
Session ONLINE: Monday, 13th November 2023 Coffee Morning Session from 10am to 11am (meeting link will be shared via PCode email)
Session ONSITE: For parents who wish to join us in-person, we invite you on Wednesday, 15th November from 2pm to 3pm for a Coffee Meet in ASPS.

Orientation for Diplomathon at ASPS took place on 6th and 7th of October for KS3 and KS2 students, respectively, offering a unique platform for students to engage in meaningful discussions, collaborate on international issues, and develop diplomatic and negotiation skills.
We are pleased to announce that this is ASPS’ third consecutive year of participating in Diplomathon. Diplomathon assures an enriching experience for students and promises to support their growth and career development by writing letters of recommendation to students who have participated in at least five conferences. This will enhance their applications for universities when they are ready.
We are inviting parents to apply for their child to participate in the The Award Winning Diplomathon World Symposium, scheduled for 10th & 11th February '24 being hosted at Gems Modern Academy, Dubai. It is a prestigious conference series taking place since 2018 hosting progressive schools in the UAE.
Each year we receive a large number of applications. All applications will go through a selection process after which the parents of the shortlisted students will be notified via email and requested to proceed with registration fee payment via an online payment link. Once the payment is completed further instructions will be communicated by the organisers directly to your email address.
If you are interested in your child participating in the Diplomathon World Symposium, please complete the form below and initiate the selection process. The deadline to submit this form is on Monday 13th November 12:00 PM after which the form will automatically stop taking responses. If your child is selected, you will receive further confirmation and instructions.
For parents/guardians who were unable to attend our Coffee Mornings/Parent Engagement Sessions and for those who wish to revisit the presentations for a more in-depth understanding, we are pleased to introduce the Parent Engagement Session Presentation Bank.
