Great Expectations Chapters 20 to 35 and the culminating Project

Reading:

Chapters 22-25:

Students will read to enjoy, explore, and analyse the themes and contexts in the given chapters.

Chapters 26 to 29:

Students will learn how Pip is embarking on a new journey and his new endeavours in London.

Chapters 30 to 35:

Pip's realisation of the benefactor and how it shatters Pip's dreams of gentility. As Pip navigates the complexities of his newfound wealth, he is drawn into London's criminal underbelly, leading to a darker and more intricate turn in the novel.

Writing:

Persuasive writing.

SPaG will be part of all the writing tasks.

Factorise quadratic expressions into two brackets.

ISLAMIC B

Students will learn about the situations that arose after the signing of the treaty of Hudaibiyah. They will analyse the decisions made by the Prophet (SAW) and understand the role of Tawakkul and the importance of being an Ummah.

ART :

To be able to gather and record the rules and ingredients of designing a logo for a brand.Use the sketchbook practice method to sketch the layouts.
Learn to use the smart cutting machine to customize and personalize the logo on permanent vinyl.

P.E :

These months, the PE topic is Athletics. They will be learning the basic skills and rules of running, throwing, and jumping and other Athletic events. This is in preparation for the Annual Sports Day and upcoming inter and intra school competitions.

COMPUTING :

To be able to append data to text files using the append function.
To be able to read data from CSV files.
To be able to use the Caesar Cipher encryption method.

French :

Students will be learning:

To explore La band Dessinee
Numbers to 1000

MSC :

Understand Africa’s transformation in the 20th century from colonialism to independence.
Demonstrate understanding of diversity and equality in the UAE, and articulate the benefits of diversity.
Understand the cycle of bias and discrimination and how it can be overcome. Demonstrate respect and empathy for, and sensitivity to individuals who are different or who come from different backgrounds.
Discuss what can be learnt from people or movements that have fought discrimination.
