Reading Chapters 19- 35:

We are learning to discuss the events that alter Oliver's future and to analyse the characters and their impact on each other.

To explore the themes of identity and the development of characters in Oliver Twist.
The students will analyse the topics of poverty, individualism and social bonds through the course of the novel.
To compare the lifestyles of a city and a country in terms of the development of characters.

Writing Objectives:

Short story writing, News paper report.

To be creative and develop the content in a short story.
To explore the news paper report format and learn to develop a well structured news report.

Analytical writing: PEEL and PETAL paragraph writing.

Poetry Analysis:

Fractions:

To compare and simplify fractions.
To find a fraction of an amount.
To add and subtract fractions.
To add and subtract mixed numbers.
To multiply fractions by fractions.
To multiply mixed number by a fraction.

Atoms, Elements and Molecules

Identify the differences between atoms, elements and compounds using particle diagrams
Use chemical symbols for common elements and explain why they are in international code (Dalton's model)
Describe and identify the metals and non metals by their properties.

Islamic B

Students will brainstorm the various challenges that the Muslims must have faced when they migrated to Madinah following the migration of the Prophet (SAW).

We will look at the solutions that the Prophet (SAW) devised and the impact it had on building and strengthening the Islamic community.

ART :

To be able to gather and record visual information on culturally relevant contemporary artists.
Learn to sketch a realistic observational drawing using the principles of art inspired by contemporary artists.

P.E:

This months, the PE topic is Athletics. Students will be knowing what are track events and field events. They will be learning the basic skills and rules of running, throwing, and jumping and other Athletic events. This is in preparation for the Annual Sports Day and upcoming inter and intra school competitions.

COMPUTING:

To be able to use 'while' loops in python programming.
To be able to convert 'for' loop to 'while' loop
To be able to use conditional statements inside 'for' loops

MSC :

To analyse the causes of the First Hundred Years' War and some key figures involved.
To explore the natural disasters that occurred during the Late Middle Ages in Europe and understand the importance of cleanliness and sanitation for public health.
To learn about my own responsibilities regarding my own health and global health concerns.
