As students progress to the next academic year and are promoted to the next year level it is normal that some of their classmates will change and so will their teachers.
It is the responsibility of the school to ensure that classes are distributed appropriately and teachers are assigned according to their qualifications, experience and where they are needed. Please note that the process of balancing classrooms is complex, and we have taken considerable effort to ensure academic and social balance in each class. Our class lists are structured to maintain equitable class sizes across all year levels.
Whilst we understand that parents may have preferences or requests regarding class placements, we kindly request that such requests are made with a valid justification directly related to the wellbeing of the child.
Furthermore, we want to clarify that class changes cannot be made based on individual teacher preferences. Our teachers are dedicated professionals who are committed to providing quality education to all students. As such, class changes cannot be facilitated if they are requested due to a desire or preference for a specific teacher.
The eagerly anticipated first day of school is almost here and we can hardly wait to welcome your children to ASPS!
To ensure a seamless transition into our school community, each student will be given a "Welcome Student Badge" on their first day.
We kindly request your cooperation in ensuring that your child wears their badge every day. By doing so, not only will your child become more familiar with their fellow classmates and teachers, but it will also help us accurately allocate them to their respective classes.
Nursery and FS Students
Nursery, FS1 and FS2 students will join their class in small groups each day. Kindly note that your child's teacher should have reached out to you. They will provide details about your child's joining date and gather additional information as needed.

in the afternoon:
FS- School buses will leave from school at 12:40 pm*
Primary & Secondary - School buses will leave the school at 2:15 pm
*FS classes have free-flow activities at this time therefore bus students will not miss out on any curriculum learning.
The first day of school is exciting and daunting for small children. If you feel that you and your child would benefit from an opportunity to drop them off at the door of their new classroom this will be permitted on their first day. The class teacher will be stationed in the class to welcome you and your child on their first day.
Here's how it will work:
Nursery and FS Students with their parents will enter through the Salam Nursery gate (Gate 1) and use Door 2 to enter into the FS section. Older siblings from Primary or Secondary can also use this gate.
To ensure a smooth flow of drop-offs, we kindly request that only one parent accompanies the child to their classroom.
Parents will be allowed to limit their time inside the classroom to a maximum of 15 minutes and will then need to exit the classroom, allowing both the children and the form tutor ample time to become acquainted.
Parents are not allowed to enter and check other classrooms or any other areas after leaving their child’s classroom at this time.
Parent collection for Nursery/FS will be at 1:00 pm.
Parents should only enter the school through the Salam Nursery gate (Gate 1) and use Door 2 for student collection from the classes. Parents can use Door 2 or 3 and Nursery gate (Gate 1) to exit the school.
To avoid overcrowding and enable us to have a smooth transition during dispersal time, we kindly request that only one parent collects the child from their classroom.

For both Primary and Secondary new students who are not able to attend the New Student and Parent Orientation, we request that they proceed to the Front Office (Reception) upon arrival on the first day of school. A member of staff will be waiting to extend a warm welcome and accompany them to their respective classes.
We understand that this is a big step for our younger students in Year 1 and 2 and we are committed to ensuring a positive and comfortable experience for both you and your child.
To help make the first day transition as smooth as possible, we have established a drop-off procedure on the first day of school that allows parents to accompany their child in Year 1-2 to their new classroom door.
Here's how it will work:
Accompany Your Child: On the first day of school, parents are welcome to accompany their child to the door of their new classroom. We understand that this can help ease any initial jitters and create a more familiar environment.
To ensure a smooth flow of drop-offs, we kindly request that only one parent accompanies the child to their classroom.
Limited Corridor Access: Parents will be allowed to remain in the school corridors for a maximum of 5 minutes. During this time, you can help your child settle in, assist with any last-minute needs, and share in their excitement.
Take turns: Please vacate the corridors after the 5-minute window. This will allow other children and parents the space they need for their drop-offs.
Classroom and Area Restrictions: Whilst you are welcome to accompany your child to their classroom door, we kindly ask that parents do not enter other classrooms or any other areas during this time.
The gates will reopen for parents to collect their children at 2:20pm.
For Year 1 and 2 Students:
Year 1 and 2 parents will enter from Front Gate (Gate 2) and use Door 5 to collect their children from their classrooms and use Bus Gate (Gate 4) to exit the school.
If you have a student in Year 3-9, please enter from the Back Gate (Gate 5), collect your older children first and proceed to collect Year 1 and 2 students from their classes.
For Year 3-9 Students:
Parents will enter through the Back Gate (Gate 5) and collect their children from the MPS/ football area and use the Bus Gate (Gate 4) or the Nursery Gate to exit the school. Students will be lined up and ready for collection at marked areas- Look out for their Form Labels!
This academic year, locker facility is made available to the students of Year 8 and 9. Students who wish to avail of this are requested to bring AED 50 as a non-refundable locker charge which can be handed over to the Form Tutor. Locker allotment will be based on the school's discretion and that will be keeping in consideration the convenience for all students.
Further details of locker use is available in the School Locker Policy.
A friendly reminder: Please ensure to label your child's belongings. With so many similar items at school, things can easily get misplaced or lost. However, when a name is clearly labeled (jackets, lunch boxes, drink bottles, stationery, Chromebook etc.) are clearly labeled with your child's name. Labeled property can be easily returned to its owner.

Our school office at ASPS will be open on Sundays 27th August from 9:30am to 12:30 pm, specifically for school fees payment.
We understand that busy schedules can sometimes make it challenging to visit during regular weekdays, so we hope these additional days will provide more flexibility for you.
Once the fee payment is successfully completed, please be aware that our school requires a minimum of 2 working days to finalise the allocation of students to their respective classrooms.
Payments made on weekends, whether through Zenda, bank transfer or in-person at our school office, may also take up to 2 business days to process. This means that if you make a payment on a Sunday, it will not be processed until the following business days. Please note that your child can join school after they have been allocated a class and you will be notified via email when this has been done.
Why is this timeline necessary?
Allocating a reasonable timeframe enables our team to manage a range of tasks related to student allocation, class organisation and digital integration. The 2-day period allows us to effectively communicate this information to parents, ensuring that they are well-informed and prepared for their child's placement.
This advance notice is important to ensure a seamless transition for your child into their new classroom environment.
Should you have any questions or require further clarification on the fees schedule, please email accounts@alslamschool.ae.
