Please make sure to check your PCode school email for this important information.
Homeroom Teachers in FS1 to Year 3 will have 10-minute appointment slots whilst subject specialist teachers will have 5-minute slots per family. We ask parents to be ready online and that the time allotted is adhered to.
GETTING READY FOR THE NEW ACADEMIC YEAR!
As outlined in the KHDA Parent-School Contract, it is a requirement that all outstanding fees for Term 1 are cleared before your child can attend school. A friendly reminder that the first term school fees are due by 1st August. We kindly request your prompt attention to this matter to ensure a smooth start to the academic year. https://www.alsalamschool.ae/admissions/school-fees/
We kindly ask for your cooperation in planning accordingly. Please refrain from arriving at the first week of school with your child, expecting them to join on the same day after paying the fees. Once the fee payment is successfully completed, please be aware that our school requires a minimum of 2 working days to finalise the allocation of students to their respective classrooms.
Why is this timeline necessary?
Allocating a reasonable timeframe enables our team to manage a range of tasks related to student allocation, class organisation and digital integration. The 2-day period allows us to effectively communicate this information to parents, ensuring that they are well-informed and prepared for their child's placement.
To comply with the KHDA mandate for registering students in Dubai schools, for new students joining Al Salam Private School, please ensure you provide the school with a copy of the Emirates ID of your child and one parent. Once KHDA approves your child’s school registration, you will need to sign the KHDA Parent-School Contract. We kindly ask that you sign the approved Parent-School Contract by 20th July. Please note that parents are required to sign the KHDA parent-school contract before their student attend the school.
For existing students who will continue with Al Salam Private School next academic year (excluding students from Salam Nursery), you will receive an SMS or an email from KHDA containing a link to the updated Parent-School Contract. We kindly ask you to review the sections, especially the updated ones. While you will not be required to sign the contract if your child is continuing at Al Salam Private School, your thorough review of the sections is appreciated.
If you require any additional information or have any questions regarding this process, please contact our admissions office on admissions@alsalamschool.ae
Whether you have travel plans or will be enjoying a staycation this summer break, we encourage parents and students to make reading a part of their summer break. We are pleased to announce that our school library will remain open throughout the summer, providing access to a diverse collection of high-quality books. Students are allowed to borrow up to 3 books each.
9th July to 12th July and
12th August to 16th August
EYFS to Year 2 students can visit the Infant Library
Year 3 to Year 9 students can visit the second floor Library
Please note that whilst existing uniforms can be worn, we kindly remind you to ensure that they meet the school's uniform requirements. Uniform items should be clean, in good condition and appropriately sized for your child.
It has come to our notice that some students are wearing incorrect shoes, wrong color socks, incorrect jackets, and wrong color trousers/skirts. Please ensure that the clothing you purchase for your child complies with these specifications:
Al Salam School grey school jackets are available for purchase from the school. Parents may visit the school during school hours to check the jacket sizes. All sizes are now available! The ASPS pullovers are available from the Sumeru store.
Please note, all other coloured jackets and sweaters are not allowed. Thank you for supporting us by making sure that your child is dressed appropriately for school every day.
A friendly reminder: Please ensure to write your child's name on their school jacket. With so many similar items at school, jackets can easily get misplaced or lost. However, when a name is clearly labelled, lost items ca be returned to their owner. Taking this small step can save you from the inconvenience of replacing a lost jacket.
FS1 to Year 2- Standard school issued PE uniform (white dry fit polo shirt with red collar) and black track pants should be worn.
Year 3 to Year 10 wear a PE shirt reflecting the colour of the House they have been assigned to (Red, Yellow, Green and Blue). PE shirts will be purchased in accordance with the House designated to the child.
Year 3 and new students will be assigned a House on their first day of school and all our current students remain in their previous House.
Year 3 parents are urged not to purchase a white PE shirt as each child will be assigned a House upon commencing school.
Shoes - These should be plain black, with no additional colour, whether this be a small / feint, white or grey stripe for example, this type of footwear is not allowed.
PE Shoes should be white or black only.
The socks should be white.
Regular school day shoes
PE shoes
Next academic year, with the opening of the football pitch and expansion of play space in the front play area, a white cap is now a mandatory part of our school uniform. Students may not be able to access these open areas without a cap at certain times of the year for health and safety reasons.
We recommend white caps or bucket hats that will cover the neck area.
Some of the bags students bring to school now are way too big and heavy. If a student has a large bag, they feel they need to fill it, this should not be the case. Our students should be bringing to school only minimal items, a water bottle (every day), lunch box, reading books, pencil case and a device for our Year 3 and above students.
We would like to remind parents about the requirement for students from Year 3 to Year 10 to have a school-managed Chromebook.
Please ensure any devices brought into school from August 2024 are Chromebooks only, no other devices will be allowed in school. Students should purchase their Chromebook directly from school.
More information and instructions on how to place an order can be found on the Al Salam Schools Digital Learning website.
The link can be found in the IMPORTANT LINKS section below.
To help ensure the safety of students and staff, we ask parents to wear their Parent ID badge. Visitor identification is mandatory and visitors, including parents and staff, are issued a clearly visible ID badge to be worn at all times when they are on school premises.
We ask all parents who have yet not applied to do so and collect their ID cards from our Front Office.
New family can apply up to two (2) Parent ID Cards (typically, Mother, Father, Nanny and Driver or other nominated family members such as Aunt or Uncle) at no cost. If your family has a care provider or another person assigned to come into the school to collect your child, they should have a Parent ID Card.
If you have applied for your parent ID kindly contact our Front Office for collection.
Replacement ID (Lost parent ID):
For parents/guardians who have applied and collected their Parent IDs, please note that additional or replacement ID will cost 50 AED per ID.
The link to the online form can be found in the IMPORTANT LINKS section below.
Whilst we do not encourage students to walk back and forth from school alone, we do understand there is sometimes the need to do so.
For Year 6 to 10 students, we believe that you as parents need to decide whether your child is ready for the responsibility of walking to and from school alone. Please be advised that no student will be allowed to walk home without prior consent from a parent or guardian. The school will not issue a walk home pass to students in Year 5 and below.
Your child’s safety is most important to us. We will not allow children to travel home alone from school without your consent.
Our agreed school policy is that no student in Foundation Stage or Key Stage 1 (Years 1-2) should walk to or from school on his or her own or be left on their own on the school premises either before or after school.
We will only hand over students from Year 3 and above to older siblings, provided the older sibling is in Year 6 or above (the oldest student should be in Year 6 but they cannot collect a sibling in FS1, FS2, or Years 1-2). The exception to this is if the older sibling is in Year 10; they will be allowed to collect their siblings in FS1, FS2 or Years 1-2 starting the new academic year 2024-25.
No walk home pass will be issued to students in Year 5 and below.
Parents of new and returning students will have to give their permission and apply for a pass for their child to walk home alone every school year.
Returning students may use the same issued walk home ID. Please note that a replacement for lost ID will cost 50 AED.
If you would like to give permission for your child to walk home alone in the new academic year 2024-25, the link to the online form can be found in the IMPORTANT LINKS section below.
If you wish to register your child/children to use the school bus in AY 2024-25, please register through our online form below. Registration will be accepted on a first come first serve basis.

Bus Fees and School Bus Guidelines (Terms & Conditions) are included in the form.
Here, we have compiled a few learning resources that will keep your children engaged and support learning during the summer break.
Even for student-independent websites, we always recommend that students’ parents visit the website with them to help students get set up correctly.
