To start off Term 2 on a positive and constructive note, targeted sessions were organised with students from Year 4 to Year 6. These interactive sessions aimed at fostering a culture of positivity within the school community by focusing on key aspects such as positive language use, building strong and respectful relationships with one another and embracing mutual respect.
In class sessions were held where students drafted their class’s behaviour agreement. This will ensure that students set responsible goals and have clear expectations for their own behaviour in school.Â
In these engaging sessions, students actively participated in discussions that not only highlighted the significance of positive communication but also emphasised the importance of cultivating healthy connections with their peers. By fostering a sense of respect, students were encouraged to appreciate diversity and create an inclusive environment within the school.
We are pleased to share that our ICT lab is now equipped with brand-new computer units, ushering in a wave of technological advancements this new term in ASPS. This significant upgrade reflects our commitment to providing a cutting-edge learning environment and fostering digital literacy among our students.
We are confident that these improvements will have a positive impact on the overall learning experience in our ICT lab. Whether students are working on coding assignments, projects or research tasks, the new computer units provide the tools needed for success.
Next week, students from year 3 to year 9 will undergo the Star Reading Assessment, a comprehensive tool designed to measure their reading proficiency. This assessment aims to evaluate individual reading levels, identify strengths, and pinpoint areas that may need improvement. The Star reading assessment will take place during the Accelerated Reader lessons.
We would like to remind you about the upcoming External Benchmark Tests that are a part of the UAE National Agenda Parameter. As per the guidelines set by the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA), all students in Dubai are required to participate in these tests to collectively enhance the quality of education across the country.
Purpose: To assess and improve the overall educational standards.
When: Over the next few weeks
Conditions: Tests will be conducted under formal exam conditions during the school day.
We request that your child comes prepared with a set of headphones and a fully charged Chromebook, as these are mandatory for all test days.
