As we reflect on the month of March, we witnessed a serene atmosphere in our school community due to the observance of the holy month of Ramadan. We're grateful for the peaceful and reflective time it provided for both students and staff.
In addition to observing Ramadan, our students also enthusiastically celebrated World Maths Day, showcasing their creativity and innovative thinking. It was truly a joy to see them engage with numbers and problem-solving in such a lively manner.
We're introducing new certificates for Year 1 and 2 students who excel in reading and quiz participation on Active Learn. Please help your child by ensuring consistent login and reading habits.
Congratulations to our inaugural group of winning students who, in alignment with the updated behaviour policy in KS1, have maintained the Golden Star status consistently for two weeks. Well done!

March has been an eventful month, bustling with various activities.Our students have successfully completed their assessments, showcasing their dedication and efforts. Throughout the month, they also participated enthusiastically in a range of events.We began with Story Character Dress Up Day, followed by the celebration of World Book Day, during which students exchanged books and indulged in the pleasure of reading. Our students expressed their love for their mothers by crafting heartfelt cards, demonstrating their affection.
Students enthusiastically embraced Maths Day, a special occasion devoted to celebrating the importance of mathematics! It was a day filled with excitement, learning and enjoyment as they explored the wonders of this captivating subject. During the day, students were engaged in a diverse range of stimulating math activities in their mathematical-themed attire, promoting creativity and passion for the subject.They continued to shine, earning well-deserved certificates for their exceptional performance in various activities, including timetable competitions and physical education. Their outstanding achievements reflect their hard work and commitment.

February was indeed a very happening month for our lower primary students!
We were thrilled to see the enthusiasm and creativity displayed by our students during both International Day and Book Character Day. They all looked fantastic in their diverse costumes and outfits, truly showcasing their spirit and imagination. They also thoroughly enjoyed the occasion of Haq Leila. Students were also recognised with certificates and presents for their participation in the Winter GAB challenge, which was led by members of GAB.
Ms. Hilda Youssef paid a visit to ASPS on the occasion of Children’s day, delighting the children with her latest book, "Snowy & Zoey in a New World!" Our KS1 students were treated to a special assembly focusing on our behaviour policy, where they learned about the rewards and consequences of their actions. Additionally, we hosted an online session (recorded) for parents to discuss the behaviour policy. Parents of Year 1 and 2 students were briefed on the phonics screening and received guidance on teaching letters and sounds to their children during our parent workshops. We extend our gratitude to all who attended these events. For those unable to join, we will be sharing recordings soon. Thank you for your support and participation!
As we move forward into March, we would like to remind you that this month is crucial for our students as they will be sitting for their Term 2 assessments. We encourage your continued support and involvement in their academic journey during this time.
Additionally, we are also approaching the blessed month of Ramadan and we want to extend our warmest wishes to you and your family for a happy and blessed Ramadan. Please note that due to the holy month, our celebration for Mother's Day on March 21st will be minimal. However, we assure you that we will have a grand celebration in May to honour all mothers.

As we embrace the opportunities and challenges of a new month, I am delighted to welcome you to the latest edition of our newsletter for Years 4 to 6. It is my pleasure to share with you the exciting developments and achievements within our department.
We are immensely proud of their hard work, creativity, and dedication. Students actively participated in an engaging Science Project-Based Learning adding an exciting and educational dimension to their overall experience. The students thoroughly enjoyed the dynamic activities, including a vibrant Children's Day skit, a Time Table competition, achieving 200 Dojos for a Casual Day and participating in the Anything But a Bag Day. Enthusiastic student involvement made these experiences enjoyable and engaging for everyone.
Class photographs were captured to preserve cherished memories and create special mementos for students, ensuring they have a lasting reminder of their enjoyable experiences.
The International Day event at our school was a spectacular celebration of diversity. Students showcased their cultural pride through traditional attire, dances, and music from around the world. The event fostered a sense of unity and appreciation for different cultures, with delicious international cuisine adding to the festivities. It was a lively and enriching experience that highlighted the beauty of our global community.

We hope you had a wonderful first month of the new year as we venture further into 2024. Here's a brief update on recent activities and upcoming events at our school.
Starting from week 22, we implemented a weekly curriculum overview to provide insight into the upcoming week's topics. We hope this initiative has been helpful in understanding your child's learning journey better and well in advance.
We are excited to share that our KS1 students showcased their talents during an amazing sports day, and our Year 3 students participated in an impressive poem recitation competition. Additionally, lower primary students enjoyed a Casual Clothes Day on Friday, 26th January, as a reward for achieving 200 dojo points. It was heartwarming to witness their happiness and pride, as these points were well-earned through their efforts.

Our students continue to impress us all with their dedication and hard work. We celebrated numerous academic achievements, participation in events and commendable progress across the curriculum. In line with our commitment to providing a well-rounded education, we conducted engaging Financial Literacy workshops for our Year 4-6 students. These workshops aimed to equip our young learners with essential skills and knowledge to navigate the world of finances responsibly. Topics covered included saving and the basics of financial planning.Our students actively participated in interactive sessions, group discussions, and practical activities that brought the concepts to life.
In a wonderful display of responsibility and ownership, our students took the lead in creating their classroom contract.This initiative aimed to empower students by allowing them to contribute to the creation of guidelines and expectations for a positive learning environment.
Under the guidance of our dedicated teachers, students collaboratively discussed and drafted the contract, covering aspects such as respect, responsibility, and cooperation.
Beyond achievements, we also celebrate acts of kindness and leadership displayed by our star students.

The highlight of this month was the "Pink Bake Sale" (Bake for Care), a heartwarming event that combined culinary creativity and charitable giving. Furthermore, our students are increasingly relishing their outdoor breaks, engaging in a wide range of games and activities that foster physical well-being and social interactions. As we look forward, we have a series of exciting events on the horizon: UAE Flag Day on Friday, November 3rd, followed by International Stress Awareness Week from November 6th to 10th, Kindness Day/Anti Bullying Week from November 13th to 17th, World Children's Day on Monday, November 20th, and the grand celebration of UAE National Day in December (stay tuned for details in our weekly principal updates). October has been a month filled with enriching activities, important updates, and achievements worth celebrating.These activities not only enhance our students' learning experiences but also promote important values and awareness.Our students delved into topics like Living things and their habitats in Science and four operations (numbers) in Maths and enhanced their learning.
We celebrated World Teacher's Day on 5th October to honor our dedicated educators. The event was marked with heartfelt appreciation from students and parents alike, emphasizing the importance of our teachers' hard work and dedication.
Our school places great emphasis on the mental well-being of our students. Our students conducted assemblies to create awareness around. We believe that a healthy mind is essential for a successful educational journey. "Pink Bake Sale" was organised where our students and staff baked and sold pink-themed treats and all proceeds were donated to the Emirates Red Crescent.

We're also excited to highlight our ongoing monthly and weekly awards, including recognitions for the best behavior, star students of the week, the tidiest class, and perfect attendance for the month of September. These awards celebrate the outstanding efforts and achievements of our students.
Furthermore, we hosted an engaging Sustainability Project competition where students, with the guidance of their teachers, crafted their own recycling bins. The winners were proudly announced during our assembly, and we were impressed by the innovative solutions our students presented.

Dear Parents,
I am thrilled to welcome you to the first edition of our monthly Upper Primary Newsletter for the 2023-2024 school year. As the Head of Upper Primary, it is my pleasure to keep you informed about the exciting events, achievements, and important updates happening in our section.
We began the academic year by offering our parents opportunities to visit the school for Parent Engagement sessions, where leaders spoke about the curriculum, the school, the protocol and parents met the teams. For parents unable to attend we have shared the recordings and slides.
We have also shared detailed outlines for this term through individual parent year group handbooks. These handbooks were designed to allow parents to have scaffolds and resources as well as an outline of the curriculum coverage. We hope you found the sessions and the handbooks informative.
Children are currently enjoying well-designed activities in class.We are excited about the possibilities this academic year holds and look forward to watching our students grow, learn, and achieve great success.
