Dear ASPS Parents,
This is an incredibly important term and one that is packed with curriculum content, events and assessments. We would ask parents to be extra proactive in ensuring that students come ready to school, on time and have full access to the schedule for the day, including assemblies. Assemblies are meant to deliver key information and messages, as well as showcase, praise and promote things that are important within the school. Your support on ensuring our children are ready to learn from the moment they step into the school building is essential.
Moreover, we need our parents to ensure that students come to school well prepared.
Has your child had a healthy breakfast before coming to school. Snack time is several lessons into the day and some of the vital learning happens at 7:30am! Let us give your child the best possible platform for the day.
Did you know a lack of sleep does not just affect the attitude, concentration or behaviour of your child. It affects memory, retention of learning and has been known to cause children to be misdiagnosed with health conditions.
According to the Sleep Foundation a child needs:
Preschool: Preschool-aged children who are 3 to 5 years old should get around 10 to 13 total hours of sleep per day .
School-Age: School-age children should sleep for a total of 9 to 12 hours every day.

It is getting hot so let us start with a hat/cap and a labelled bottle of water! Sunscreen is certainly a good idea:) Always a good idea to carry a small pocket pack of tissues and hand sanitizer too.
✔ Stationary and whiteboard pens.
✔ Well sharpened pencils and a ruler.
✔ Charged Chromebook and a set of headphones that work (we like the average headphones where we are not worries about loss or damage- so no expensive ones- thank you).
Let us start off the Term with a positive and active mindset and the results will follow. ☺
As previously communicated, we would like to remind parents that our Term 2 Parent-Teacher Meetings will be held online this Saturday, 20th April.
You should have received an email in your PCode (parent school email) with instructions on how to book your appointments. Please note that any face-to-face meeting bookings previously made have been deleted to accommodate our new online format. If you have not yet booked your new online appointment, we urge you to do so at your earliest convenience to secure your preferred time and receive the Google Meet link.
The end of Term 2 reports were released on Wednesday, 17th April. These reports are crucial for our discussions, providing insights into your child’s academic progress and areas for growth. Please review these reports prior to our meeting to facilitate a more comprehensive discussion. Access these documents by logging in with your PCode, which ensures secure access to your child’s information.
Thank you for your attention to these updates and we look forward to having meaningful conversations about your child's educational journey.
Reminders:
Class Teachers in FS - Year 3 have 10 minute appointment slots while Subject Specialist Teachers will have 5 minute slots per family.
We ask parents to that the time allotted is adhered to. If you need more time the teacher will schedule a longer meeting at a later date. This will result in a more in depth meeting for conversations that need more time and thought.
