Week 17--Future of Narrative, Inspiration et al.

Bonus! See below for PDFs of three guidebooks for creative writing from MasterClass!

Monday 5/18: For today,

1) Jot down 5 ideas for creative projects you might do this summer.

2) Which project has the most heat/excites you the most/makes you feel inspired and alive? Describe that project in a little detail in a freewrite.

Some points to consider when doing your freewrite:

      • Explore the idea of the project.

          • E.g. if a story, you might write the basic premise of the story.

      • What might the working title of your project be?

      • What do you visualize the end result of your project being?

3) Free free to attach photos of sketches or a preliminary audio recording, etc.

4) Word count: 200 words

Weds 5/20: Please write a journal entry, 350 words or more.

    • No required topic for this week, but you might write about

      • Beginnings

      • Endings

    • I'd encourage you to try writing by hand. If possible, grab a notebook and go outside. You can take a photo of your journal entry and post that on Canvas

      • Journal writing can be very therapeutic. If it's helpful, use the journal to write about whatever's coming up for you these days.

Fri 5/22: Please write another journal entry, 350 words or more.

    • No required topic again, but you might write about:

      • How can I get started on my creative project for the summer? What can I do to get myself jump-started and excited and actually doing this project?

      • Where can I find inspiration for it? (Block D, you might check here)
