Tues 4/30--Writing assignment--350 words, to be posted on your homework site. Please do ONE of the following assignments:

1. Write a eulogy for Troy.

2. Imagine you're one of the characters and write a monologue about what your life is like after the play ends and/or how you feel about Troy and his death. Important: please don't write in dialect!

3. Write your own address to death.

4. To what degree is this Rose's play? Is this Rose's play as much as Troy's? Please cite evidence from the text in your answer.

    • Please pick ONE of the questions you or a classmate posed on the website and answer it tonight, pretending it were an actual in-class essay. Post it on your journal site.

    • Word count minimum: 700 words.

Fri 5/17--In-class essay on The Ramayana.

Mon 5/20--MASTER VOCAB TEST ON VE II. Click here for the answer key for VE II.

    • The format for the test will be the same as for the one in the fall:

      • 100 questions involving:

        • multiple choice (synonyms and antonyms)

        • fill in the bank (with word bank)

        • true or false

Tues 5/21--Grammar:

    • Please read and answer the sheets on agreement here.

      • Note: Don't worry if you don't understand everything; we'll go over agreement in class.

    • Please review the instructions for the end-of-the-year test here.

    • Start reviewing and preparing for the test!

      • Re-read and review tricky areas in the pink workbook and purple grammar book.

Weds 5/22--Grammar: read about usage and usage errors on pp. 91-94 and try the exercise in your pink grammar book, p. 95.

    • Re-read your writing reflections from the beginning of the year till now.

    • As your final writing reflection, please answer the following questions:

      • What writing techniques do I want to use on the final?

      • What do I want to do a little differently on the final?
