Week 11: POV

Mon 3/28--Read student stories (workshopping during class time)

• • Comment on what works/is successful in the piece.

  • Comment on questions you have--what you'd like clarification on, etc.

• Remember to be encouraging, not harsh--these are early drafts!

Tues 3/29--

• Read "Invasion from Outer Space" (reader, 133-135)

• Also read "Orientation" (3 PDFs below).

• For both stories, think about POV. Which of these POVs do you find more interesting/effective? Why?

Thurs 3/31--Journal entry:

• • 900 words

  • Suggested prompt: look at your surroundings from the point of view of someone completely different from yourself

    • OR... write your journal from a different POV (e.g. from a third person limited POV or an omniscient POV)

  • Post on Canvas

Fri 4/1--Story due on turnitin.com (you'll turn it in during class)

• • Please make sure you revise your story based on whichever of your classmates' comments you found helpful.
