Tues 4/26--In Fences, read "Characters," "Setting," "The Play" and Fences, Act One, scene 1 (pp. 1-20)

Weds 4/27--Read Fences, pp. 21-40 (Act One, scenes 2 and 3)

Thurs 4/28--Read Fences, pp. 41-58 (Finish Act One)

Fri 4/29--Grammar:

    • Read pink workbook on mood and voice, pp. 84 and 85

Mon 5/2--Read Fences, pp. 59-77 (Act Two, scenes 1 and 2)

Tues 5/3--Finish Fences, pp. 78-101 (Act Two, scenes 3, 4, and 5)

Weds 5/4-In-class essay on Fences.

    • To study, I'd suggest opening the attachment now posted below ("Fences_Harkness") and follow my tips at the top of the doc.

    • Please fix the mechanic errors in your Gatsby paragraphs

      • On Canvas: (Canvas mechanical error assignment)

        • Post the old version and

        • the revised version with the changes highlighted in yellow or underlined

      • Note: if you have no mechanical errors, just post the old version and write above it that there's nothing to fix

      • Read pages 1 and 2 of the PDF

      • Do the exercise on page 3 of the PDF.

    • Briefly look at page 92 of the pink workbook.

  • Read about usage and usage errors on pp. 93-94 of the pink workbook.

  • Try the exercise in your pink grammar book, p. 95.

  • Also, please look at the word doc below to see a mini-version of what the grammar test will cover on Friday.

Mon 5/9--Please review exercises in the pink workbook. Bring in any questions you have!

Tues 5/10--Comprehensive grammar test

Weds 5/11--No homework (in class, we'll discuss writing conferences, reading, and other upcoming assignments).
