Week 3:

Monday 9/21—Finish reading Pseudolus (through Act V, pp 205-211); read K. McCarthy, pp. 49-50. NOTE: it just came to my attention that part of the reading got cut off. Please do your best but don't worry too much if you can't understand it.

Tuesday 9/22—Read part one of J.S. Mill’s essay “On Liberty.” http://www.bartleby.com/130/1.html To be handed out in class as well.

Thursday 9/24—Vocab. quiz #2. Write a 500 word online essay on your definition of liberty.

Friday 9/25—In-class essay #1. Topics to include Pseudolus and also The White Tiger. Be knowledgeable about the ideas of G. Spivak and J.S. Mill.

Week 4:

Monday 9/28—NO SCHOOL

Tuesday 9/22—NO HOMEWORK

Thursday 9/24— Vocab. quiz #3. Read Beloved, pp. 3-33 (30 pages).

Friday 9/25—Read Beloved, pp. 34-67 (33 pages).

Week 5:

Monday 10/5— Read Beloved, pp. 68-100 (32 pages). First response due by today: 300 words.

Tuesday 10/6— Read Beloved, pp. 100-124 (24 pages).

Thursday 10/8—Vocab. quiz #4. Read Beloved, pp. 124-156 (32 pages).

Friday 10/9-- Read Beloved, pp. 156-186 (30 pages). No response due today (moved to Monday).
