Mon 11/5--Read and takes notes on The Odyssey, second half of Bk 18 and first half of 19.

Tues 11/6--Read and takes notes on The Odyssey, Bk 20. Odyssey character quiz re-do (optional).

Weds 11/7--Read and takes notes on The Odyssey, Bk 21.

Thurs 11/8--Read and takes notes on The Odyssey, Bk 22.

Fri 11/9--Quiz on Chapt.8 of Vocab Energizers; also read about direct objects and indirect objects in HGW (28-30 and 121). Bring pink workbook to class.

Mon 11/12--School Holiday!

Tues 11/13--Read and takes notes on The Odyssey, Bk 23.

Weds 11/14--Read and takes notes on The Odyssey, Bk 24 (the end!).

Thur 11/15--On your homework website, post a freewrite on the topic (passages) of your choice.

• • Word count: 600 words.

  • Please write quickly and do the freewrite within a 40 minute time limit.

Fri 11/16--On your homework website, post the following:

• • An complete introduction (that, of course, concludes with a thesis sentence)

  • Two analytical topic sentences that follow from your thesis

  • Two quotations that support each topic sentence (for a total of FOUR quotations)

  • Please note that your intro, thesis, and topic sentences are only initial drafts; you may change them as your thinking and writing progress.

  • Please also note that you'll probably want more than just four quotations in your completed essay.

Mon 11/19--Complete draft of Odyssey essay due. Please post on your homework site.

Tues 11/20--Final draft of Odyssey essay due. Assignment is here.

Weds 11/21--Creative writing assignment.
