Monday 3/21--Writing assignment:
Pick 3 rich passages from Chapters 1-6 of The Great Gatsby.
The passages you pick should be significant in terms of character and/or theme.
1. Write out each passage (passage should be 50-100 words long, approx).
2. Write an analysis after each passage.
In your analysis, you should be sure to single out and discuss three key words the passage uses.
Explain why these words are important to the passage and to character and/or theme.
word count per passage: 120 words minimum.

Monday 3/28--Please re-read your essay and carefully review my comments (both bubble comments and end comments). Then choose to revise ONE paragraph. By revision, I mean more than simply fixing the grammatical/mechanical errors. Post your revision under REFLECTIONS ON WRITING on your personal website.
Tuesday 3/29--Passage test on Gatsby.
Wednesday 3/30--Start Puddn'Head Wilson, pp. 3-17 ("A Whisper to the Reader" and Chapters 1-2).
Thursday 3/31--Quiz on Chapt. 7 of VEII (postponed till Tuesday after break); read pink Workbook on case, p. 80 and do exercises on p. 81.
Friday 4/1--Read Puddn'Head Wilson, pp. 17-29.
