Week 18--Review

Mon 5/23--Master Vocab Test

  • Please review all 150 words of semester 2.

      • Here is the answer key for questions in VEII

      • Please note that the words from the final chapter (Chapter 10) will be included on the master vocabulary test

Tues 5/24--Please read study guide for final (attached doc below)

  • On Canvas, please post a list of three ideas, values or themes that Twelfth Night, The Great Gatsby, and Fences share.

        • After each idea/value/theme, please say a few words about how that theme is expressed in each work.

        • Note: it is not enough to say that "love" is a theme in all three texts. As with thesis sentences, specificity is the key here!

        • Here's the link to the assignment page on Canvas: Three Themes

    • Also, please review sample essays on Fences and other works from the semester here.

Weds 5/25--On Canvas, please post the following:

    • A 350+ word freewrite on the theme you found most interesting that all three texts share.

    • Be sure to incorporate at least ONE quotation from each of the texts (Twelfth Night, The Great Gatsby, Fences)

    • Here's the link: Freewrite (with Quotations) on Theme

Note: below I've attached the PDF from the smartboard today. You'll see a sample thesis and outline to help you prepare for the final.
