Week 14

Monday, 12/6—More grammar review! Do handout distributed on Friday and review the pink workbook and purple grammar book.

Tuesday, 12/7—Grammar Test on parts of speech and sentence elements.

Wednesday, 12/8—NO ENGLISH CLASSES (professional development day).

Thursday, 12/9—Read and take notes on “My Papa’s Waltz” (12).

Friday, 12/10—Read and mark up “The Chimney Sweep” (14) for practice in-class essay. Also, do the attached homework on "The Chimney Sweeper." NOTE: Please post your homework on the homework page of your personal website. Also, please PASTE your homework onto the site rather than attach it as a word document. (Put the date and description of homework on the title line.)

Week 15

Monday, 12/13—In class we’ll discuss Friday's practice essay.

Tues, 12/14—In-class essay on a poem. Please read and prepare "The Crabs" on p. 16 of your poetry packet.

Wednesday, 12/15—Read and take notes on sonnets: “The World is Too Much with Us” (17) and “Quixote” (18).

Thursday, 12/16—Read and take notes on “A Martian Sends a Postcard Home” (10) and “Ode to My Socks” (22).

Friday, 12/17—Write an ode; see separate instructions.

Week 16

Monday, 1/3—Read and take notes on “Oranges” (25).

Tuesday, 1/4—Read and take notes on “Dulce et Decorum Est” (24). Also, please do worksheet.
