For Thurs, 1/9—Read and mark up “Oranges” (25). Please do a 300 word freewrite on the poem exploring the following questions:
What is an important conflict or contrast in the poem?
What poetic devices illustrate this conflict or contrast?
How does this conflict or contrast relate to the theme of the poem?
Please post your freewrite on your homework website!

Also, please re-read your TWO poetry essays (before and after break) and decide which one you want to submit to me.
If you wish, you can show your essays to someone else to get feedback on which one is better. I recommend asking a classmate who is familiar with the two poems.
