Mon 4/24--L: Read: "What We Talk About When We Talk About Love" in reader, 105-115.

    • Also, briefly review the revision chapter in Burroway's Writing Fiction.

    • Please bring both Writing Fiction and the reader to class.

Weds 4/26--S: Look at the original version of the story "What We Talk About" and compare with the edited version:

  • Look at the original version of the story (but you don't have to read it carefully) and compare with the edited version.

    • Compare the edited version with the original version of "What We Talk About When We Talk About Love": Carver story--before Lisch edits

      • Please note some of the key differences between the stories and write about them on Canvas (Canvas site to be made next week)

      • Also, for those who are interested, click here to check out some letters that Carver wrote to Lish regarding their relationship.

  • Here's the original version of "What We Talk About" without the editorial comments:

    • "Beginners"

    • Please post these differences under the proper period in the "Discussions" section of Canvas: Discussion Section

    • Minimum word count (your own original words): 200 words
