So, everyone else has some funny, entertaining first article idea, but I couldn’t come up with anything, so y’all are getting another classic “Jade’s writing about school events again, huh?” article. I’ll probably write about six or seven of these throughout the school year. It’s a big task, being in the fourth highest tier on the Stand hierarchy, currently tied with Iago.
Anyway, I don’t really know what’s happening this fall, so I’m gonna write this article in a few hours or days or something. It’s currently like 12:17 and I’m lazy and have a bunch of homework because I procrastinate everything. Is that grammatically correct? Procrastinate everything? Procrastinate on everything? If you’re reading this, shoot an email to jhauber29@yorkschool.com and let me know. Then at least I’ll know someone’s reading these, however boring they may seem.
Okay it’s Saturday now, so let’s see what’s happening.
The Terry Fox run is this week on Friday, the 26th, at the reservoir, I think.
September 30th is the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, so everyone be sure to wear an orange shirt to commemorate this important event.
Thanksgiving weekend starts October 10th. It’s a four-day weekend, which is pretty much four days that I’ll be in my pajamas watching Modern Family and disassociating. I suggest you do the same. Everyone needs a mental health break.
Obviously on Friday, October 31st we have the Hallowe’en assembly. If you don’t know what day Hallowe’en is, I think you deserve many years worth of candy. Make sure you wear your costumes for our annual showcase/competition. I hear the judges this year really want people to step up their game.
Sunday, November 2nd is Daylight Savings Time. We get an extra hour of sleep. Yay! To be honest, I’ll probably just use that as an excuse to stay up even later, but if you want your rest, it’s gonna be a blast for you.
That Friday, the 7th, is the start of the fall mid-term break which I’m sure we’ll all greatly appreciate. Another four days of sitcoms and Kraft Dinner. Yay!
Tuesday, November 11th is the Remembrance Day assembly.
Then there’s like nothing for a straight week. Wow. They couldn’t even give us one event? (Kidding! I know y’all work hard and appreciate what we have! Plus we’ll already be really busy with assessments and stuff, at least the grade nines will).
November 27th, 28th and 29th is the play! Matilda! Be sure to come and support your classmates, including me, because I didn’t learn how to twirl an acrobatics ribbon for nothing, and everyone’s singing is just stellar.
And then winter break starts on December 19th! And we’re done with term one! Hooray!
Anywho, I’ve gotta run. But thanks for reading! Write next week!
