Though it's rare that the Middle School gets highlighted here on The Stand, there have been some amazing accomplishments made by our younger Yorkies that can't be missed!
From our annual Grade 7 Public Speaking Competition to leadership opportunities that we know they'll shine in, you can expect to hear much more about the Middle School in future editions!
Our annual Grade 7 Public Speaking Competition took place on Wednesday, March 29th. As part of the grade 7 English curriculum, students study public speaking. This includes choosing a topic of their choice, writing a 3-4 minute speech on it, and presenting. Students delivered their speeches in each homeroom class.
As a result two representatives from each class, 7A, B, and C competed in the finals.
Our six competitors this year were:
7A; Zoey R. and Koby B.
7B; Myah Z. and Kate P.
7C; Max B. and Cora T.
Congratulations to Max B. who will be competing next week in the Sterling Hall Invitational Public Speaking Competition. Special shout out to Cora T. for placing second and Kate P. for placing third!
