As you may know the Grammys were last week. Since Jojo took care of discussing the nominations that won, I think that it is only right if I give you my opinion on the looks we saw from our favorite celebrities.
Firstly I wanna start off with my favorites: Cardi B, Madison Beer, Taylor Swift and Beyonce. I think they all looked gorgeous. Nothing more to say than perfection.
Can I just say Chappel Roan and Chali XCX left me with my jaw on the floor. Their gowns were definitely something I would never wear (as if I’m ever going to go to the grammys) but WOW. The gowns were so unique and so them. If you were to see those two gowns just hanging on two hangers alone, you would just KNOW that they were meant for them. Everything from the hair and makeup to shoes fit so well with their aesthetic but still made it perfect for the Grammys. Big applause for Jean Paul Gaultier for giving them such beautiful and personal creations.
Gracie Abrams looked like a saint in Chanel. The make up was perfect for the look, and so was the hair. Overall, she looked beautiful. However, I just wished that her dress was longer and her belt a little bit thinner. I think that would’ve just elevated the look to be more breathtaking than what it already was.
Miley Cyrus in Saint Laurent left me disappointed…Mind you Saint Laurant is my favorite out of all designer brands, but this dress just wasn't anything we haven’t seen before. I think I would’ve liked the outfit more if her hair wasn’t three different colors, and wasn’t a half bob half long hair with bangs.
Lady Gaga had almost the same hairstyle as Miley, just jet black with even shorter bangs. This just looks weird to me. Is this a new trend? I hope not. Gaga’s dress scared me a little bit…not my favorite Grammys look that she has given us, but it is on brand with her new song Abracadabra which I respect.
Jayden Smith…thank you for being you. I don’t know how or why he got the idea to put a castle on his head, but here I am saying thank you. He definitely made all of the other guy’s on the red carpet look boring, uncreative and unworthy of my critiques.
Shakira’s dress had potential. I liked the lace in at the bottom, but the top looked like she was wearing some sort of a gymnastics leotard or swimsuit, and personally I don’t think it really matched or was connected well.
Now I know a lot of people were waiting for an opinion on a certain outfit choice of a certain couple…however, I’m too scared to address that in a school newspaper so I won’t be commenting on that.
Honorable mentions go to Doechii, Billie Eilish, and Sabrina Carpenter, they understood the assignment.
So there you have it York!
