halloween at york (and costume reminders)
10/30/2022
On Monday, October 31st, from 9:05am-9:45am, our Student Council is very excited to be hosting our annual Halloween Costume Catwalk Assembly. All students are invited to dress up and show off their costumes (see important note on costumes below).
At 8:55am, students should head to their designated assembly classroom. Then, at 9:05am, Senior School advisors & their students will head to the gym. Senior School classes will enter and exit the gym via the North Link entrance.
When entering the gym, students should look for student leaders with signs indicating their grade level. (See Gym diagram in Mr. Hamilton's week ahead)
We are excited to dress up in our costumes on Monday and show them off at our Halloween Costume Catwalk Assembly! Prizes will be awarded at the assembly for FUNNIEST, SCARIEST, MOST ORIGINAL & BEST GROUP COSTUME.
We do need to ensure our costumes are appropriate for the school environment and respectful of others, their cultures and religions, avoiding cultural appropriation. Considering our choices as we craft our Halloween costumes will help us grow in our intercultural competence and move our community towards one that embodies cultural humility.
