Celebrate Pride Assembly & International Day of Pink
This year’s Pride Week was a collaboration by our GSA (Gender-Sexuality Alliance), Student Council, and Equity Committee.
On Tuesday, to kick off our Pride Week, we were thrilled to have two guest speakers from The Get REAL Movement, a Canadian non-profit focused on combatting 2SLGBTQ+ discrimination, racism, and bullying in schools, summer camps, and workplaces.
Members of our GSA and Student Council shared student-driven Pride Week events taking place throughout the week to celebrate the contributions of the 2SLGBTQ+ community, recognize the hardships they continue to experience, and learn more about allyship, inclusion, kindness, courage, and acceptance!
International Day of Pink & Rainbow Pride
The Junior School enjoyed a week full of colourful self-expression, prideful celebration and effective forms of allyship and action in support of 2SLGBTQ+ identities.
They created a school wide rainbow pride art installation where students wrote ally messages of love and inclusion. We learned about having the courage to be yourself.
Be Bold! Be Proud! Choose Kindness! And always be an ally!
