Grace Liang:
Hello York! I’m Grace Liang, I’m in grade 11, and I have been a TYS student since grade 7! I am so honoured to be one of your Heads of the Stand for 2022-2023!
Our goal for this school year is for everyone to have something for themselves on the Stand—a platform to share thoughts and ideas, a place to learn new things about the school and the world, or a space to find any advice or answers to pressing questions. We are always looking for ways to make the Stand more accessible, inclusive, and engaging.
To join us in realizing these goals, come to our meetings in room 203 on Mondays at 4 p.m. ! You can also reach out with your suggestions, or submit them through the article submission form in the 'Student Voices' page!
Tarlan Zare Sadeghi:
Hey, York! I’m Tarlan Zare Sadeghi, a student in Grade 11. I have been attending TYS for about four years, going into my fifth now. I am excited to be a Head of The Stand for the 2022-2023 year and can’t wait to work alongside our bright student body. Here at the headquarters, we will work to guarantee that everyone who joins our club will have the option of sharing their passions with their peers and the faculty. By simply manipulating the online world, you can utilize your voice through written words and help the community grow. We hope you guys can join us in our journey to broaden The Stand and make it the best possible version of itself while also pursuing the ability to add your personal touches to the newspaper.
Stu Boyden:
Hi York. My name is Stu Boyden and I’m a grade 12 student. I’ve been at York for five years and it’s crazy to think I’m going into my last! I’m coming to The Stand mostly with experience from student council as the Director of Communications Head of The Stand. This means that while I’ll also be helping Sarah, Tarlan and Grace with running The Stand, a big responsibility of mine will be to ensure that we’re on the same page as the student council. This means going to both Stand meetings as well as executive meetings, following school events and trying to promote The Stand through student council channels, like the stuco instagram. I’m so excited for this year and to read all of your amazing writing!
Sarah Rosenhek:
Hey York! My name is Sarah Rosenhek and I’m a grade 12 student who has been at the school since grade 7. I joined The Stand last year as a writer and editor, but have now taken on the role as one of The Stand’s club heads. Having seen how much The Stand has developed and changed (for the better) throughout the course of last year and even before that, I am confident that our team can continue on this path to make The Stand a fun, exciting and interactive platform that all members of our school will love to engage with. We are always looking for as much content as possible, so whenever inspiration strikes, reach out to us and we’d be more than happy to help put a spotlight on your amazing work!
