Goals and Objectives

Educational Goals

 

Priority Level I:

 

            Each student shall –

 

1.                  acquire mastery of the skills needed for reading, writing, spelling and speaking.

 

2.                  acquire mastery of the skills needed for perceiving and using numbers.

 

Priority Level II:

 

            Each student shall –

 

1.                  acquire the skills, knowledge and understanding necessary for leading a healthy and safe life, free of dependence from drugs, alcohol, or tobacco.

 

2.                  acquire the knowledge, habits, and attitudes of a responsible citizen, including respect for the rights and property of other people.

 

3.                  acquire the ability to develop basic life values and ethical principles and apply them to life.

 

Priority Level III:

 

            Each student shall –

 

1.                  acquire the knowledge of self respect through an understanding and appreciation of his/her abilities, needs, interests, goals, and worth.

 

2.                  acquire the skills, understanding, and appreciation necessary for relating to and working with other people.

 

3.                  develop and maintain the ability to form ideas, seek answers, to reason, and solve problems.

 

4.                  be able to select and prepare for a vocation appropriate to personal needs and abilities and the changing needs of society.

 

5.                  acquire knowledge and understanding of society’s social, economic, and political systems.

 

6.                  acquire a positive attitude toward education, and the independence necessary to continue learning and adapting throughout life.

 

Priority Level IV:

 

            Each student shall –

 

1.                  gain knowledge and appreciation of how people grow and develop within the context of family and community life.

 

2.                  develop an understanding of and appreciation for people from other social, cultural, ethnic and national groups both past and present.

 

3.                  develop an understanding of the role of technology in a changing society.

 

4.                  acquire knowledge and appreciation of the environment and recognize personal responsibility.

 

Priority Level V:

 

1.                  gain knowledge and appreciation for great books, important ideas, and the artistic creations of man.

 

2.                  develop creative talents.

 

3.                  develop interests and skills in leisure activities.
