Food Service Records

 

            Each school must maintain full and accurate records of the operation of the school lunch programs. The records must meet federal, state, and county regulations. Records must be kept for a period of three years and they are subject to a federal audit. Federal reports for reimbursement claims are due in the Superintendent’s office not later than the third day of each calendar month.

 

            The principal of the school has the same authority and responsibility for the school lunch program as he/she has for other phases of the total school program. The school staff shall cooperate in developing and maintaining a school lunch program that complies with the regulations.

 

A central accounting system shall be used.

 

Adults shall pay for the meals which they consume at a rate calculated as follows:

 

 

As of June 1, 2015, the costs of producing a lunch and a breakfast are $3.61 and $2.71 respectively, based on the most recent data available from the WVDE for the 2013-14 school year.  Based on this policy the established adult price of a lunch for the 2015-16 school year will be $3.75 and the adult price of a breakfast will be $2.75.
