Buildings and Grounds Management

            To maintain the buildings, grounds, playgrounds, and equipment at an acceptable standard, to repair, alter, or improve properties and to plan and construct new facilities all commensurate with the requirements of the educational program requires the services and skill of many trained persons.

            It shall be the policy of the County School Board that the school properties shall be maintained in good physical condition: safe, clean, and sanitary, and as comfortable and convenient as the facilities be provided when found necessary. The school system shall be properly staffed and equipped to perform all normal building and grounds maintenance, repair and improvement functions, and to initiate contractual work after Board approval and in accordance with state statutes for items which are not sufficiently repetitive in nature to justify additional employment of specialized staff or equipment.
