Evaluation of Instructional Program

Performance Standards

 

 

Each school in Clay County is expected to meet performance measures in the following areas: student performance by grade level in the various subjects tested under the State/county Testing Program; school attendance rate; student dropout rate (secondary); the percent of students promoted to the next grade and number of waivers to the promotion standard granted; and graduation rate.

 

Schools not meeting the performance standards listed below will

establish an improvement plan, with assistance from appropriate central office personnel, and submit the plan to the Clay County Board of Education for review, revision (if necessary), and approval.

 

(1) State County Testing Program - Total Basic Skills at or above the 50th

percentile based upon CTBS/U to CTBS/4 equating tables. Grade levels

evaluated for the purpose of this policy will be levels 3, 5,6, 9 and 11.

 

(2) School Attendance Rate - 90%

 

(3) Student Dropout Rate - 17%

 

(4) Graduation Rate - 83% (Effective V1194)

 

(5) Promotion Rate - 92%

 

(6) Waivers to Promotion Standard Based on WV-STEP - No more than 5%
