In a time where magic holds prominence in the universe, the Empire of Tears spans three galaxies. The deathless demons were pure evil, unchallenged in their might until the elders of Oadecided science should prevail and sought to rid the starways of magic. The Sorcerers of Jhes'lesh, the Yattering Tower of Phuul, the Shamans of Ushmiel all fall before the Oans. The last threat to be dealt with was the Empire of Tears. They too are driven back by the Oans. The last battle and most vicious battle was fought on the throneworld of Ysmault. There the demons tortured those Oans found weak of will with horrors unimagined. Only the strongest survived the ordeal. As the smoke of battle cleared, the Oans emerged victorious. The demons were chained but not eradicated. Their planet was considered forbidden territory by the Oans. The minds of the demons remained entombed on Ysmault for all eternity.Though they did not eradicate all magic, the Oans were largely successful in their designs and went on to become known as the Guardians of the Universe.

1950s

Sometime after receiving the power ring, Abin Sur broke the Guardians' quarrantine of Ysmault to rescue the survivors of a crashed Ungaran spaceship. The entombed demons offered assistance to Abin, enticing him to free them. One of the demons, Qull of the Five Inversions, promised to give the answers to any three questions, free of charge. The first of Qull's answers gave Abin Sur the location of the sole survivor of the crash, a young Ungaran girl. Her ankle was broken but she was otherwise unharmed. Abin Sur returned to ask the second of his three questions. The second question dealt with the fate of Abin Sur himself. According to Qull, Abin Sur would die when his power ring failed him at a critical instant. He went on to tell the Ungaran Green Lantern of his successor, who would be the greatest of the Green Lantern Corps, eclipsing the achievements of Abin Sur. The third question concerned the final battle of the Green Lantern Corps. After untold millennia, The Weaponers of Qward, Ranx the Sentient City, the Children of the White Lobe, and the Empire of Tears would rise united against the Green Lantern Corps.Sodam Yat, a Daxamite hailed as the ultimate Green Lantern, would perish battling the lobe-spawn. The planet-form Green Lantern named Mogo would be the last to fall as Ranx the sentient city explodes a blink-bomb within his core. Abin Sur scoffed at this notion, believing Qull's stories to be the product of a diseased mind bent on revenge. He left Ysmault with the young Ungaran girl, planning to forget all that the demon had spoken about. Beyond his hearing, the demons laughed for nineteen weeks. They had broken the Green Lantern. Away from the demons, Abin Sur thought hard on what Qull of the Five Inversions had said. Consulting his power ring, Abin Sur decided to travel by starship in order to conserve the ring's energy on longer missions. He first used a starship during his battle with the Larifars of Pendara. The Empire of Tears had sown the seeds of doubt in the Green Lantern's mind.

Once considered one of the greatest of the Green Lanterns, Sinestro of Korugar had the most orderly sector in all of known space. Unfortunately, that order came with a price. He recognized the potential of the Green Lantern Corps, but over time came to believe the Guardians of the Universe did not go far enough to bring order to the stars. Sinestro ruled Space Sector 1417 with an iron fist, and had set himself up a dictator of his homeworld. The people of Korugar did not love him as he claimed, they feared him. Sinestro sees his sense of order come crashing down due in no small part to the involvement of a rookie lantern he is assigned to mentor, the Green Lantern of Space Sector 2814, Hal Jordan of Earth. The two Green Lanterns eventually become friends but when Sinestro is revealed as a tyrant, the Green Lantern of Korugar is stripped of his power ring and insignia and expelled from the Corps. Banished to the anti-matter universe of Qward, Sinestro sets himself on a path to reclaim his power and wreak vengeance on the Guardians and the Green Lantern Corps who he believes had turned against him. Allying himself with the Weaponers of Qward, Sinestro forges a new, yellow power ring. His earliest battles are with Hal Jordan, who he offers the chance to join him against the Guardians. Over the years, Sinestro returns again and again to plague the positive matter universe. Most times, Sinestro allies himself with the Legion of Doom.

Other heroes including the Flash, in Central City, and Hawkman in Midway Citysoon began to emerge as well.

1968

Professor Hillbrand is believed to be killed in a deep-sea diving accident off Point Gander.[15]

In 68’, before they were the SuperFriends, a few future members joined forces and called themselves the Justice League of America.

This initial Justice League lineup was also the same as the Earth-One universe. It included six of the Leagues most prominent members: Aquaman, Flash, Green Lantern, Wonder Woman, Superman and Batman.

The Justice League begin operating from a secret cave outside of the small town of Happy Harbor, Rhode Island.

In late 1971, a group of the Leaguers gathered together and decide to call themselves Superfriends. This is another significant departure from the parallel universe of Earth-One. The name stuck for years, and over time, the name Superfriends was used to describe all members of the Justice League of America.

In the first issue of the SuperFriends comic book, E. Nelson Bridwell makes it very clear that the SuperFriends are sort of a volunteer organization, under the umbrella of the Justice League of America.

The founding members of the Justice League's Superfriends organization consisted of Aquaman, Batman, Robin, Superman, Wonder Woman, Hawkman, the Flash, Green Lantern, Black Vulcan and Samurai.

The formation of team and members depicted in the Season 3 episode, History of Doom.

1972

Superman and Wonder Woman return Gentleman Ghost to the grave.

The team moves their headquarters from the secret cave to the Hall of Justice, located in Gotham City. The Hall was equipped with an advanced communications network and "Trouble Alert" system (TroubAlert). They maintained a relationship with important government officials such as Colonel Wilcox, who often alerted the SuperFriends to various global threats, including alien invasions.

In the parallel universe of Earth-One the Justice League's headquarters were an orbiting satellite. This was depicted in Justice League of America, Vol. 1 #78 //(February, 1970)// found at the DC Database.

Early on, the weekly meetings only consisted of Superman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Batman and Robin.

Early 1973

It was not long before their volunteer organization expanded and they added Marvin White and Wendy Harris, to the Junior SuperFriends.

Mid 1970's

Sometime in the mid 70’s, the Super Friends faced their greatest “challenge” when they encountered a collaboration of villains known as the Legion of Doom. Led by criminal mastermind Lex Luthor, these super-villains sought for nothing less than total domination of the planet Earth. To accomplish this objective however, they first had to vanquish the Super Friends. They also brought in another hero unique to this reality, Apache Chief.

Luthor and his allies, which included such notable villains as Brainiac, Bizarro, Grodd and Sinestro, often used highly advanced weapons and devices to capture the Super Friends, but invariably, the heroes always triumphed. It is during this time that both the Legion and the League encounter the Master Programmer in the form of a witch, and are unaware of this fact.

1977

Gleekis hatched.

Invasion of the Space Dolls established that Gleek was hatched "6 years ago." The episode was aired (although not in the US) in 1983. So three years before that is 1977, which is consistent to the time that The All New Superfriends Hour came out.

Two teenage twin mutants from the planet Exxor arrive on Earth to help the SuperFriends battle the evil Grax. They are eventually adopted by Professor Nichols, and become the trainees of the SuperFriends, replacing Marvin White and Wendy Harris. Marvin went on to study at Ivy University, while Wendy moved to Paradise Island to attend an Amazon university to continue her training.

The Hall of Justice is relocated to Metropolis.

It is unknown if the Hall was literally moved brick by brick, or if another one was built in Metropolis to replace the old one. It is established in The Brain Machine that the Hall is now in Metropolis.

Late 1970s

The SuperFriends clash with numerous more powerful threats in the form of Darkseid and Mxyzptlk

1979
