Artifact, Bends in the Rainbow

Current Location: All thirteen of them dwell within the Red Queen's tower in Celes. Their counterparts are scattered throughout the various levels of the Dungeon.

The Blue: In the possession of a desert tribe of Slow Mutants, called the Total Hogs on the second level of the Dungeon.

The Green: This one is thought to be hidden in the city of Lud on the second level of the Dungeon. It appears to be a simple translucent-green sphere, like a crystal ball. Flickers of electrical impulses kisses the inside surface.

The Orange: This sphere is located in the hellish city of Dis on the seventh level.

Abilities: They cannot be damaged or even scratched, though it may be that only great heat or force would suffice to destroy them.

Each sphere is linked to an identical counterpart in the Dungeon and by looking in the respective sphere in Nia’s tower one is able to see what goes on in the area in the Dungeon where its counterpart lies, regardless of distance. In such a case, one wonders if the spheres are more of a burden than a gift, as few sights in the Dungeon are enjoyable to see. Still, one can eavesdrop and see whatever any other sphere is seeing, or even what multiple spheres are seeing simultaneously. The spheres show where one may find the secret Gates between worlds, and sometimes they act as doorways to those other worlds themselves. The spheres are sometimes built into or added to totem poles or shrines, or worshiped where they lie.

The spheres in the Dungeon are deprived of the P.P.E abundant environment of Celes and therefore require the P.P.E of its user to function. To activate the ball requires one to have a minimum of 10 P.P.E. The observer loses track of time; 30 minutes seems like five. Also he or she is so absorbed with looking at the glass that they are easily caught off-guard

The Black: Also known as Black Thirteen, this final Bend o' the Rainbow may also still be in existence. However, it is unlucky to even speak of thirteen, as it may hear its name called and roll the speaker away to unknown worlds.

Description: Thirteen glass spheres, completely smooth, that are used for scrying and communication.

Translucent: The ball is transparent, but it reflects light at odd angles, so looking through it shows outlandish distortions of what's one on the other side.Black: A jet-black oval sphere that has been described as “a malignancy on Reality.” Unlike other known

spheres, this one seems to have a certain cruel intelligence of its own.
